Very helpful. I used a plastic putty knife which fit perfectly to unhinge connection. Also, on my 2015 Forester xt, you can look into each side mirror and see whether the brake light is working. I couldn't tell which light bulb was bad, so I replaced the top and bottom, and brake light is now working. Total cost was less than $9. Nice to see a demonstration that shows some struggle, like I had, in getting the light bracket off. A lot easier the second time. Thanks.

This video was super helpful. Thank you!! I own a 2017 Forester - the bulbs for the tail running lights (what turns on when the headlights are on is 2825 bulbs. The same used for the lights above the rear license plate.

The information presented in this video is incorrect. The 2017 Subaru Forester does not, as the video states, use a 7443 bulb in the taillight.

Thank you - which bulb does it use? I can't find the information anywhere...

@@sassamafracken just changed mine now and noticed the video was incorrect myself. However, I had purchased the correct bulb prior to this video. It's a 2825 bulb for a 17 forester.

2017 Subaru Forester's tail lights are different, FYI. This still got me in without problems, but the bulbs are arranged differently. Not sure if the bulbs themselves are different.

Same with the 2018 Forester. Should update the video title to 14-15

2018 Forester uses 2825 for tail light (not 7443).

Extremely helpful video. I didn’t have the plastic tool to disengage the clip so I get a good plastic knife and disengage the clip.

mine also requires a tamper proof T20 to remove the upper bulb socket

Running/tailight bulb is incorrect bulb for some models of 2018 Forester. Check your engine size, and Sport/Premium/Limited for correct bulb.
