I get a kick out of these comments of people criticizing Neil's performance, claiming it doesn't quite match up to Michael Jackson's level. Really? Are you kidding me people? Michael Jackson, easily one of history's most insanely talented and uniquely gifted performers, along with one of his most memorable performances.......and you're wondering why Neil Patrick Harris isn't matching MJ's intensity in this lip sync show? I think NPH is an extremely talented performer. But he's not MJ! And there are few people on this planet who could hope to match what Michael Jackson was able to do. Perhaps some of you people's expectation's are a little unreasonable.

My goodness, this video is the epitome of why I have adored Neil Patrick Harris for over half my life. As a young girl it was because of Doogie Howser. As an adult, I have highly respected everything that he does. He is such an amazing person through and through, and I absolutely love seeing him do what he does. This is my favorite lip sync battle now!

This is literally one of the best lip synchs. His face the entire time was completely in character (and he weirdly looked like he could sound like that???)
I think he is so stiff and having some trouble syncing correctly because someone needed to attend more rehearsals. Love Neil though and know he can bring it...like Broadway level bring it. Just think he could have used some more practice before performing.

Sergio Argüello I know right. But the last time I saw him was in HIMYM and like just compare his movements there to his movements here. I initially thought it was just age or something like that. Like, ik ppl r adding some excuses, but u don't have to be a dancer to have some fluid movements. He has also done live performances where ppl could pick him apart many times before so I don't think that was it either.

i know what you're saying - Neil was far too stiff and the MJ moves he did do were too slight and weak - but MJ definitely DID stand still onstage during his Superbowl Halftime Show for a full four minutes as the stadium went insane. Check out the video.
He isn’t a professional dancer or anything, and a lot of people have trouble copying mj’s moves perfectly, it’s better to play to your strengths than to attempt something extremely new to you

A L Just my opinion. As a dancer, I really enjoyed the performance as a whole. The dancers, background, wardrobe, etc all fit together pretty well and it was a great representation of Smooth Criminal and Micheal.
+Ashley The set, background dancers, costumes and choreo in general were intense and simply amazing! I hardly ever clicked on a video so fast since I knew NPH (as a musical performer) from Glee and absolutely loved his performance on the show. But in this Lipsync Battle he did not mediate any energy or fun... basically he did not mediate anything to me apart from stiff dance moves. Sort of frustrating to watch because I know that he can do way better than that!
Superwholock Potterhead Oh I know he can too. But you also have to look at the choreographer as well. They have alot of power. That's probably why Micheal was also his own choreographer, now that I think of it.
