They look just like the ones that I built 60 years ago they were molded in black I did not have to paint them I have built many more recently the molds have held up very well. Thank you for sharing.

Love restoring old builds...built those and a bunch of other Trophy Series kits in the early sixties, built at least three or four of these 40's over the years (including the sedan delivery). Love these videos!

Really nice pair of 40 Ford's. Great looking builds. Love the black color. My favorite kits as well. I have the original built from 1960 and many other newer releases. The hood actually says Ford with a small sqaurish emblem.

I built both of these in the 60s and I believe they were AMT 3 in 1 kits back then.

Nice looking pair of '40s. Yes, the original engine color was a dark green. The closest match to it that I have been able to find, is the Revell #39 green. Rather an olive green. I tend to prefer building the Older releases of those kits. I've got four of the First generation kits that I am building. They were pretty much unstarted kits. One will be built stock. The other three are being built as '50s style hot rods. I do have three of the original issue small boxes.I will be keeping one of them for my personal collection when the models are done. I will be looking to have the other two empty boxes going to people that would like to have one each to add to their collections. Also two of the original instruction sheets.

@@ericsmodelgaragebasically just ask for one. The two of them that will be available, are somewhat faded. Not bad, just showing that they are 60 to 65 years old, and a bit worn. The instruction sheets are a bit yellowed and somewhat fragile. Essentially I am just trying to find good homes for the extras.

I hope AMT re-releases this pair, and with the option to build as either '39 or '40, I'd end up buying multiple kits of both body styles.

@@ericsmodelgarage gosh, I tried to find your Ollie's when I traveled to Detroit last November. It was night-time, but I never found it. What exit off I-75 is the best way? The one I used took me past a hospital, but I couldn't get past the train tracks to look further.
@rayrussell6258 The closest exit would be 127 at st rte 81. You could GPS from there 👍
