- Welcome to the Madden 24 Franchise Rebuild with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Raiders are a team that's struggled for decades. Many have tried to fix this once great franchise but the Raiders have hired (and fired) 9 head coaches, have had 13 10+ loss seasons, all since their last playoff win in the 2002 AFC Championship Game.
There is a lot of dust in the trophy case as the Raiders last won a Super Bowl 40+ years ago. No team should rebuild as long as they've had to. Now I'm looking take them over to restore this Franchise to its' former glory.

Agreed you gotta run it back with Stockton, especially with that Superstar dev. He may be the most infuriating to watch QB on a week-to-week basis, but he's OUR most infuriating QB to watch on a week-to-week basis. Looking forward to the offseason!

Despite some of the negativity, I think it’s pretty clear that Stockton is the guy. He’s on his way to being the best young quarterback in the league. He’s always going to have a turnover issue thanks to his aggressive force passes trait. That’s just who he is. We’re going to have to live with the regular Favre-esq bonehead interceptions if we want all those TDs. You buy the ticket, you ride the ride.
Your run defense was rated 2nd I think you really need to shore up the 32nd ranked pass defense to improve the defense the most
Yes. One linebacker and at least one more reliable pass rusher. Pressure the QQB and take away the underneath stuff that would be the quickest escape..
I really like Taylor Seymour. It might be because I like any player with those short sleeves under the jersey, and I fully acknowledge that.
Stockton is the Herbert of the series. Puts up empty calorie numbers that look good but don't lead to winning anything of significance.
Kinda Herbert gets sold by his team way more than Stockton

This will be very interesting now! Unlike seasons past or other channels where they would have just traded or not re-signed (in this case pick up the option) for a QB that hasn't been able to perform particularly 'elite'. You will be sticking with the guy at QB, will be fun to see how next season will turn out!

15:08 This was an awesome play by DJ Reed. Gives me flashbacks of the time CJ Mosley sent the Ravens to the playoffs after jumping a 4th down pass vs the Browns.
The run/pass splits are terribly skewed in general with this Madden, and that the air it deep approach Stockton needs can exacerbate that (especially with all the recent sacks), but I don't get how there were only 9 rushing attempts (excluding Stockton, since it's unknown if those were planned runs or scrambles) in the Denver game. It was close until the end of the 3rd, and Denver had multiple turnovers by then. A game like that surely should be the type that ends with a more balanced approach.
Please bring Mayer back. Mayer is Stockton’s favorite target and security blanket. They are growing together.
Just blow this roster up, and rebuild
I know Jacobs is getting old (in football terms), but I think he's a must for re-signing. We've all seen what it's like when you have a team without a truly good RB. Move on from Adams and find someone in free-agency - not necessarily to completely replace him, but as a complement. I'm also very interested to see where things might go with AC...
The last thing Cane needs is to be drafting a Madden generated rookie RB who won't even average 4 yards a carry the rest of the series.
We must keep Max Crosby and Josh Jacob! They have high interest in coming back so you might pay them a lot less to come back! Max needs to stay a Raiders for life! It won’t be the same without him as a Raiders. It is the same for Josh Jacobs in this series… He makes the offense run with his game changing runs! For Davante Adams, we can tag him and trade him for draft pick when the trade deadline comes next year or keep him if we’re a contenders. Btw, I love this series Cane!!!

I have noticed everytime Stockon gets an upgrade, he plays different. I have noticed in past maddens in sim series like this that the QBs try to play to the most recent archetype that you have upgraded. When Stockon gets a Field General Upgrade he plays like a dink and dunk QB. When he gets a strong arm upgrade, he throws it deep way too often. Now I believe this only applies when you upgrade then go into a game. When you take a break from making videos and turn the game off, he resets and he becomes this elite QB (that plays to his ratings instead of the archetype upgrade) that we have been waiting for. Just a food for thought.
Also if this team was in the NFC, you guys would be dominating. It is fun to watch a tough series because the reward is going to that much nicer!

Ouch Cane. I really dont envy the position you're in. A franchise QB that just doesn't seem to play up to his stats, an aging core on offense thats bound to regress and all need to be resigned at the same time and a sub par defense thats destined to take a step back without serious off season help. Even the seemingly easy decisions, like resigning Crosby dont seem so easy when you realize that he eats up tons of cap space on a team that's just not ready to win. I say you blow it up and start again. See if you can acquire some late first, early second round picks, sign the best 26 year old talent you can in free agency... start the process now and you'll be a contender in 3 seasons. If not, from here on out its 8-9 at worst, 10-7 with some breaks and no deep playoff runs.
You got great youth in the WR room, I think signing Adams to a 1yr deal and trade him for a day 2 pick and/or trade for an amazing backup RB to replace Jacobs because he is 29 (in RB years is past his prime) and that contract is RIDICULOUS for an aging RB! Depending on the market maybe not a lot of teams might not want to pay Jacobs that kind of money and get him on a lower deal? I'd go for that or just let everyone go except retain Crosby and get Stockton on the 5th year option THEN go from there.

It's kind of funny seeing Sam Darnold starting for the Broncos in whatever year you're in - we may see Zach Wilson starting for them this year!! (I'm a Jets fan)
I think we need a different scheme and still more speed at receiver. Davante gets open but Stockton likes to release the ball extremely quick and some of the routes take too long to develop

Michael Meyer - Let walk
Milton - DT with 9 sacks? Gotta sign
Crosby - tag and trade for a high pick and grab that WR
At 14 get a DE.
Sign another CB and either draft or sign me dline depth based off cap space.
Decline his 5th year option and have a scout scouting qbs

I wouldn't sign Jacobs or Adams for sure. Don't even know about Crosby.
With money you save you could pick up 2 or 3 different receivers and running backs that could fill different roles.
Takes out the possibility of 1 injury to an older player screwing up an entire season. Plus, just saving the money on them you would still have cap room available to strengthen you oline depth.
If you let Crosby go, you would be able to upgrade your defense evey where else and still save money.
Plus Jacobs and Crosy are at that age where they could suddenly decline more than their ratings show. Seems to happen a lot to running backs in Madden around age 30.
Look for good traits on a late QB!
I think you need to trade back in the first, or do something to acquire AT LEAST a second or third round pick
Receiving yards gettin higher and higher for sim. I’m in this sim league as the giants and I have puka nacua he has 120 receptions 1,895 yards and 19 touchdowns
I feel like your teams always have the most success after you revise the playbook multiple times. I think you did one pass at it thus far? But that could definitely help Stockton to take a step forward. And with Superstar Dev, that could be huge for the rest of the series!

For future reference, if you r going 2 start a new madden franchise so close 2 the draft, please wait until after the draft 2 start, with updated rosters. Aaron Donald's retired & you're still playing against him. Kenny Pickett is on the Steelers. It just makes sense 2 wait a week or 2, to have a more accurate sim.
Keeping stockton makes sense, but I'm not sure if I would pick up his 5th year option. The team around him is as good as it will ever be and he still can't deliver postseason success. Also, Crosby feels like a must. An edge rusher of his calibre isn't going to come around any time soon

I honestly think the playbook might be a bit of a problem. Stockton is taking a lot of sacks, but I wonder if it may benefit him to go to a more west coast offense style to try and help him get the ball out quicker. I also think if you can get a good tight end to provide a safety net as well as maybe getting a running back or full back that can pick up a pass rush might help him a bit, but I overall think an offense where you get the ball out of Stockton's hands faster will be beneficial.
As a Steelers fan, a 10-6 Super Bowl would legitimately kill me

Stockton will never be that guy. The fact that you're wanting to move to a run-heavy offense to help Stockton shows how obvious it is that he needs to go.
As far as the Raiders go, keeping Crosby is a no brainer and Stockton needs one more year, even if he likes to throw picks to the Broncos secondary. And as for the Broncos, they better draft a QB or so help me...
I would say give up on Stockton and see what you could get for him but I said that same thing about Greenberry and he really turned it around.
Well firstly you need to actually upgrade and use the superstar abilities your players have. Just sitting there ignoring them is hurting the team and is part of your issue.
Beginning of next episode you need to go through all of your superstar players and make sure their abilities match the teams play style

I really can't stand watching Stockton play, but he's your best bet for now. He changes jerseys every game it seems
Crosby at age 30 will start regressing, but he is a beast. Jacobs priced himself out, Adams is regressing far too much for my liking. Mayer would be the 1st priority for resigning imo. Adams or Jacobs would be trade bait if you resign.

THIS bum does!!! IRL the likes of Geno Smith, Ryan Tannehill, Blake Bortles, Carson Wentz and Derek Carr all have thrown 30-plus TDs in a season. Dak's done it three times, including seasons of 36 and 37 TDs and everybody thinks he's trash. It's actually not that big a deal, especially in Madden simming.
At least Stockton did win a playoff game (that he played like hot garbage in for 3 quarters). IRL Herbert and Tua can't say that.
If Mayer doesn't come back trade out of the first and draft 2 TEs and more. Run a lot of 3 TE stuff. Stockton throws good to them.
Ps. Think we have all missed the most obvious Stockton comparison. He's most like Allen from the Bills. Without the ability to scramble and make stuff up.
He sure forces the ball too much like Allen. How many Super Bowls have the Bills won with him. Or even got to the Super Bowl. That's Stocktons future.
I get how people are saying to trade stockton and that type of thing to rebuild but if that were to happen the gm and coach would get fired and that gm is cane so Idk if he would go to a different team or anything that drastic but that would be the only way to move off of stockton in my opinion before the contract just comes up

I know it seems like Stockton always holds the ball too long but his sack rate of 6.4 this season (highest of his career so far) was still below the league average of 7.1 last season IRL.
He's still not the guy and still needs to go but I just wanted to point that out.
I think you should keep Josh Jacobs as long as you can till his progression decline, it doesn't make since to keep a average QB and trade or give up your best running back.. 🤔 but i digress

Keep stockton, get him younger receivers to pair with for the future. Same with Jacobs, he is too much for someone you can sign for half the price for very similar production
Hey, does your young QB face stat regression every year? Check his progression tab in the offseason. I just found out my ROTY QB lost some stats after his rookie year. I got so mad I deleted the entire game. That's bull
I don't think it makes sense to trade Stockton at this point. He's frustrating but he's young & 91 overall. Wouldn't be realistic to trade him. Have to ride it out for a bit & see how it goes. If he can just get more accurate on the short passes.

Run it back with Stockton, try and move off of Davante Adams for a 3rd and a 7th to a contender in the NFC. Resign Mad Maxx and franchise tag Jacobs for the season. Maybe use that ammunition you get from the Adams trade to go get your WR1in the draft to pair with Clinton and Bateman moving forward for a nasty younger trio. Also, let Sneed walk. He hasn't really done anything for the team, especially when we watch the games. Too expensive for the production he has been putting out.

Why doesn't Madden show stats for the award winners? There should be a page with player cards and their stats on the awards page instead of the simple display they have now that doesn't tell you anything. Especially a few years into the franchise it would be helpful to have the game educate me about the new stars in my league.

Snag the 5th year option for stocktan and draft a young QB to sit behind him and if he doesn’t preform well. trade him and start the rookie. And either draft, trade for or sign a star wide receiver. The team needs better weapons normal Dev wide receivers can only do so much. Need a better star receiver especially if Adam’s doesn’t come back.

No way bro.. rookie year is the most important in madden especially at QB because they usually win ROY even with mid stats.. a ROY is guaranteed trait increase.. however , it’s not possible to tell what the QB class will look like next year so picking up the option is good idea.. but if a good qb is there to be drafted, I’d get rid of Stockton he is ASS
@lilai2.036 you right you right. Id say if there is a beast at QB especially if it is an athletic one with good accuracy and a big arm. Snag him and since stock has super star dev. Trade him and get more 1st round picks and draft a better WR. Or o-line

I think we need a change off offensive coordinators coupled with a Stockton trait change. It makes zero sense to move on from an objectively good quarterback just because of a goofy trait system. A team in this situation would change the coaching staff to facilitate the change in approach instead of just trading him away.
You're not wrong, but he's already changed the coordinator and playbook for Stockton. At what point is too many changes too much?
Changing one trait would be interesting to see how it plays out. Not unrealistic either…maybe change two and make one better and one worse in theory

Running it back with Stockton feels like killing time. I’d keep Meyer and let Adams and Jacobs walk. They’re both still great, but the team needs to start getting younger in my opinion. Really, I don’t think the team should be in win-now mode - a more balanced approach could be really helpful.
Trade Adams if we get that Jeff Jones. If Jeff is gone we should trade back

It's early in my watching of the episode, but I feel like you're fast simming WAY too much. The slow sim gameplay is better, you're probably better off just letting the full game run in the background like you do with mlb.
