- CNC technology instructor Derrick Hogan explains how to make a part using a Harig Grind-All No.1 precision v-block fixture and shares some valuable advice.
The Grind-All v-block grinding fixture, typically referred to as a whirligig, is a versatile fixture that allows machinist and tool&die makes to do a lot of different operations.
In this video, Derrick demonstrates how to set up and use the fixture to precision grind the features of a semi-finished part and turn it into the final product.

Hi, thanks for the great info!
I d love to see a video on collet making. C5 or er40 style... from material options to machineing, hardening , grinding... there is not a video out there as far as i know
Great video, I can use this information at work. Thank you
Thanks for the video. How do you find the center of piece to center of wheel?
very interesting and informative.. Thanks for sharing
Beautiful!
For fine ajustments use a soft metal dolly. Over 40 years of regular use great bit of kit.
My friend, where i found that dresser to buy? In Brazil it's almost Impossible. Thanks.
Why do you have your Harrig fixture in the center of magnet ? I'm tool and die maker for 45 years and I always put Harig fixture on the very right side of the magnet because if I want to measure my work I can move my work far away from the wheel . George Zardecki.
Good tip, Thanks.
Oh my lord, that poor Spindexer has had a hard life !!
Good video, but pretty terrible audio for a lot of it. We get the idea, though. Thanks!
