Great video, exactly what I want to do, out of interest once it’s wired what configuration options do you have? Can you make it look like your main hub?
In my configuration I use the AP to provision the 2nd floor of my home, this caters to all the bedrooms. In conjunction I use my existing WiFi modem which is located/service on the 1st floor. RE650 could in fact cover both floors I decided to run 4 x SSID's 2 x 2.4 and 2 x 5 GHz bands. cheers
Thank you, it's a good question. The answer , it's dependant on your infrastructure. In my setup both the TP Link Re650 and the router/switch is using 1 GB ports and the CAT 6 cable all rated at 1 GB per second. So super fast on the backhaul. Cheers Joe
Hi, thanks for sharing, i recently bought it will be delivered in a couple day, i have some question, i will use 100 meters cat6 ethernet cable, is that fine? And when its connected via the cable do we need to set it up on browser?
Do you think the TP-LINK RE650 is good if I buy it for boosting my download speed only not instead as an extender. Or do you think I'll never by pass the speed that I have been allocated by my ISP.
Great vídeo. So... Let me understand this... Once You have connected with the wps button You don't need to do more configurations? I want to repeat the same signal from My main router (same ssid and password) but I wanted it wired. So... It's possible? Your vídeo shows exactly what I want. Or I am wrong?
WPS is a built-in feature makes it easier to connect Wi-Fi enabled devices. Yes you can duplicate your existing SSIDs and passwords which I initially thought would be the way to go, but in practice not very good idea as these will still effectively be separate network's, and you won't know which device SSID you're connecting so not very helpful as you would think. As you move closer to a particular WiFi your device will not swap across easily, in this case a mesh network is a better option, hope this helps
@@ijoey9587 Sorry for possible a silly question, but can i FTP things from my Laptop to My Console if i have the console connected via ethernet to the Wifi extender? Or does the console have to be connected to the router?
Very informative video.
Glad it was helpful!
Hello, can I connect these repeater with the tplink eap115 access point

Nice video. I have a question. How's the speed on the AP and main router? Is there balancing or will the bandwidth be divided?

Tried this one and it was worse than its cousin re-455. Also tried re605x which is wifi6 and highly recomend it.

It’s fairly simple, connect RE650 port to your switch port using lab cable, connect to re650 via web interface, and enable AP mode.

@@ijoey9587 alright. Thx a Lot buddy
Do you have any interest in reviewing recessed downlights?
hi, maybe what were you thinking
can you connect the extender to a desktop? since it has an ethernet port
You can use the RE650 as a network port for PC, games console etc. Only single port , so no second port for AP backhaul in this configuration.
