Great review my dude. Comprehensive and easy to understand
Oof I waited for this so long❤️
Thanks for the review. Can you plug this into an adapter or does it HAVE to be in a wall socket/plug?
Adapter is also fine, this isn't a powerline extender.
Is this better than the TP-Link AC1750/AC1900? What are the main differences? thank you!
Hello, I'm using an AX1500 router and I don't know what to choose because this router doesn't have ac mode on 2.4ghz so buying RE605X still has a sense? if I buy the RE605X will I get the 2.4ghz ac mode on this extender?
Hi man, do you know if the RE450 supports the wifi 6 PCIe adaptors? cause I bought the TX50E yesterday and I can't connect to the 5Ghz while I can to the 2,4 Ghz. The thing is I have 2 SSID for the 5 Ghz band, one linked to the router and the other to the RE450. The router one works fine, which clarify that the problem lies in the RE450 range extender
nice little video with plenty of details.
here is my scenario: i want to cancel my ISP. i have an unlimited data iphone 12.
i also have a router which can do routing(wan)/access point mode (it can't do bridge more)
i want to :
1. start my ihone hotspot
2. connect a re505x or re605x to this hotspot
3. lan from the extender into my router's WAN
4. use my lan and wifi devices through my router's LAN/WIFI
any chance you can do a video on this with speed tests pls?
thanks for your time
I have a query. If you are using this device in Access Point Mode, can devices connected to this access point type in the main router ip address and access the main router settings page?
Really good review man
Great review, sir!
I have a netplus 200 mbps connection. I want to extend the range with the same speed i am getting from the router. So please suggest me which extender to buy? Tplink re 450 or tplink re 505? Kindly please reply.
Please try using this setup with wired backhaul and see if it works. I am planning on buying OneMesh or AiMesh products but I am not sure because I would prefer to have wired backhaul option.
Thanks for the informative videos!
:)
I bought eksa e 900 pro gaming headphones after seeing you video.
They are just awesome 😊
Great to know. :)
I'm just curious, I am unlucky enough to have bought the AX50 router a few months ago and cannot return it any more, but with the ax50 and the re505x are there 2 wifi networks shown or just the one of the main router or is that what onemesh is. If that is true I think I'm going to junk this ax50 router and go with asus wifi 6 RT-AX3000 router with ai mesh because my house is way too big for only one router if it only shows one wifi for my entire network that is the most important thing to me.
I am curious can something like tplink ax 11000 be used as a range extender without a ethernet rj45 input with the input being wifi ac 5 ghz via Asus ac wifi about 30 ft away.
I using RE 305 But single Coming slow some time it's work good if I used RE 505X?
Hey TR, I need your suggestion on choosing between AX10-router/RE505x-extender. My ultimate outcome is just to use it as WiFi entrender (by getting wired connection(LAN) as input and get WiFi6(ax) as output for a better & wider coverage. Confused due to the difference in cost and future proofing. Your thoughts please?
Hi
I have AX10 1500 SO I can take AX1800 extender? It will support
I have a Chromecast Ultra wired via Ethernet to my RE605X, shouldn’t it show up as a wired client? I ask because it’s not showing up at all in the Tether app on the 605.
I need your help, i have a linksys RE6400 that i use to connect it to 5G then connect the LAN cable to my PS4 to provide it higher speeds, it works but recently it started acting up, so i wanna ask you if something can also be done with this wifi extender.
Hey - thanks for the review.
If you could suggest whether this extender would work well for Airtel fiber broadband? Like connectivity to 5Ghz ?
Yeah, works why any 5Ghz network.
@@TechReflex Awesome, Airtel provides a Nokia Modem, so it would work with it right?
Also which one is good RE650 or AX1500?
Compatible with Archer C6 v3?
Very nice keep itup.
It was a nice review.
Since I am new to this range extender world, can you tell me if we should keep the SSID of extender and router same or different? What are the pros and cons of each and how do you do it at your place?
I read somewhere that D-Link extenders have an advantage over TP-link in this aspect, as DP Link extenders are able to setup a seamless connection with the device without any change in SSID. I am not sure if there is really any difference between them or not. And if in TP-link also we can setup a seamless network such that there is minimum issue while moving between different areas and the device is efficiently able to switch between router and extender when strength of one network goes down and of other increase as we move.
If you use it in Onemesh, you'll have same SSID, it switches automatically according to signal strength. I think you can also keep same SSID without onemesh, but it can create problems whole moving between different areas as phone won't automatically switch to stronger signal.
@@TechReflex Thanks for such a prompt response, this is new for me! 👍👍
Although I was talking about without OneMesh as my router is Asus and I didn't find any Asus Wifi extender so was going for TP-Link RE605x. So I was trying to understand what's the best way to do it, the information over the internet is not very clear on this. At one place it was mentioned keeping different SSID is better and at other place the opposite was mentioned. So I am left confused.
But thanks a lot for atleast removing a lot of other doubts on my mind with regards to the extender and also on the aspect whether to go for WiFi 6 extender or not if your router is not WiFi 6. 👍👍
@@TechReflex I think you have no idea what you are talking about. The same SSID without OneMesh will not cause automatic switch to stronger signal. You would have to do that manually.
@@daxuss I literally said the same thing. 🤦🏻♂️
Hi,
Can you make a video on re300 onemesh performance?
Can i use as bridge mode?
Review samson sr850 headphones? Its cost just rs. 3500... But sounds close to beyer dynamic dt990 pro
Hi, Please let me know, whether the models TP-Link AX1500 or TP-Link AX1800 will work with Nokia modem that is coming Airtel fibernet.
Will both work with all routers
settings have changed i guess, the ui isn't allowing these many options on tp link website for 5G
Are these RE routers good with other routers as network extender e.g. if connected to JIO Router or NOKIA-Airtel Router?
Yeah, won't work in Mesh, but normal extension will work.
The RE605X has one additional processing core (total of 4), double the 2.4ghz wireless speed of the RE505X AND it DOES support One Mesh right out of the box!!! So for only $20 more the RE605X is the best choice! 👍🏻
It didn't support one mesh when I made this video.
@@TechReflex it does now
@@shinichixx I just bought one to use exactly for that purpose, so that’s good to hear. I’m glad I checked the comments otherwise I was going to send it back 😅😎
Hi. Thanks for your video it's very clear and helpful, after seeing your video I bought tp-link Re 505x extender. But the problem is it says no internet access. How to solve this problem. Please explain.
Try to update the firmware
what about the distance from the router, can it be further compared to the re305 or they all carry the same distance in order to repeat?
It can be placed further away from RE305
Hi, will this work well with the Jio fibre duel band router! I just bought TP-Link AC1750 RE450 but when I use it to connect my iPhone it says “weak WiFi security” and recommends to use more secure WAP3. Can this extender solve that issue while working fine with my Jio router!
Many thanks!
Yeah
I just got the 605X and your review and setup were extremely helpful. One thing I noticed about mine is that it gets very hot like 111 degrees Fahrenheit, is that normal?
@@Resist4 thanks, and ya that's normal
@@TechReflex Really? My router doesn't even get that hot.
@@Resist4 Yeah, 43c is quite okay for this device, if it gets over 50-55c then you should get concerned. Other devices like AX50 get even hotter.
@@TechReflex okay thanks. One more question, my router device manager is showing the 605X 3 times with 3 different MAC addresses. Also the Tether app is showing an unknown client device and I can’t find any of my devices with that MAC address. It’s setup for a minimum coverage area so I doubt it was hacked into so quickly.
Hi Sid, can you tell me which mic are you using?
Rode lavalier go
@@TechReflex thanks what’s the price
does it have vpn client support ... client not server ?
Bro,which is better between TP link archer c6 v2 vs archer c6 v3?and one more thing to know, is cat 5 normal cable connection is good to have 100Mbps plan or need to upgrade fiber connection for 100Mbps?BIG FAN SIR!:)waiting fr your reply!
v3 is newer, but I think the only difference should be of the exterior. Cat5 is good for up to 100 mbps, Cat5E is next upgrade and is cheaper. I'd still get at least a Cat5E, it's good enough for most cases.
@@TechReflex Thanks sir, you're clearing my point and I'm now then stick to cat 5 connection fr 100Mbps plan with archer c6 v3
Thanks a v man ! For the 5Ghz channel info .
:)
Would you recommend this or a router for use as an access point (I don't need routing/DHCP capabilities)?
Router, check AX10
@@TechReflex HI !
I HAVE A BAD SIGNAL IN A ROOM EVEN IF I BOUGHT THE AX10 ROUTER, WOULD A RANGE EXTENDER RE 305 HELP ME OR DO I NEED THIS RANGE EXTENDER?
505x is much better than 305
@@TechReflex sorry I was wrong, it's about 315 that has onemesh and is at a quarter price compared to this extender.
You can definitely use this I do and it’s amazing
Sir which extender is better to have one mesh with tp link c 80 router re 505 x or re605x ?
605x will be unnecessarily expensive for that router, you can go for 505x
I have AX10 wifi 6 but not showing in TP link ac1750... why..
Which is better Re650 or Re605x
Currently tp router ax73 mesh with tp re305. Is it recommended to repalced extender with re505x (as mention re605x not supporting oneMesh) ?
Onemesh support was also added to RE605x after I made this video. You can continue using RE305 if it's providing enough speed for you, otherwise 505x and 605x are both excellent extenders.
Recently using extender re605x with current tp ax73 (router use oneMesh 2m4G and 5GHz). But during set up of re605x, 5Ghz can not be detected by extender. Even manually key in hostname and password as as in 2.4GHz SSID, still can not connect. Come across some said turn off oneMesh of router, then change channel of 5GHz from 157 (as stated there when open) to 44, then turn on oneMesh again, but still be same problem.... Any way to solve connection of 5GHzc to router with oneMesh?
Can you connect a device to the Re505x with an ethernet cable to give it signal while the re505x is set up with One Mesh
Did you get the answer?
Bro that channel tip just saved me $100! I have the Archer AX50 and a RE305. For the last 6 months I have been surviving on the 2.4GHz and was thinking of throwing it in the trash as it cocks up when > 8 devices connect at once. Still considering getting the 605 but atleast I wouldn't need it as urgently. Thank you.
Great to hear. :)
Can you tell about re450 1750. Does it support Onemesh?
Will do in the future probably next update not sure
How would you rate this versus an extender that works over a power line?
Haven't tried powerline, it can be good when it works well, but may not work properly in all cases, for e.g. I need to extend wifi in another separate flat with separate electrical wiring. With wifi 6 you don't really have to worry about wifi interference, so there aren't many cons to this model. Will check out powerline models, but I really haven't seen anyone using them so don't think there's much interest in those.
@@TechReflex thanks for the honest opinion.
@@TechReflex they are terrible with these bad reviews
Using archer c6 router very satisfied with it
Yeah that's the most value for money router.
What speeds and what you pay for
very complete review
Which one is better re605x or re650 as I have a WiFi 5 routers
Re605x because it’s future proofing you for the Wi-Fi 6 devices and routers
Can I use it with a different brand wifi 6 router like xiaomi or huawei?
Yea and router
u r next lvl
🔥😎
If my router is WiFi 5 and my extender I'd WiFi 6 and it's wired connected do I get the features ?
Yeah, you'll get wifi 6 features of the extender is connected in wired mode.
Should i get it, should i not. Iv got a TP link wifi SIM card router, (not wifi 6??) so upon review this should be ok , right.. :)
This will work with Wifi 5 routers too, and if you upgrade to wifi 6 router later, you can take advantage of it.
@@TechReflex Awesome thank you for your help, :)
Its a damn shame it doesn't support bands with higher frequency
I have Nokia router 5GHz then can I use it???
Yeah
Can you please explain how to do a lan data transfer to get the maximum speed of your router even if you don't have a high speed data plan.
iPerf
@@TechReflex can you please confirm if there is a one mesh update on tplink ax10?
I think they added it, you can check on their website.
do you like mac or just wallpaper?
Just wallpaper
can this be connected to the jio fiber router?
Any router can be connected to
Hello, I bought RX505X after watching your video, thanks for video, I am facing problem with the extender, it is not detecting 5g of my jio fiber router, I dont know how to fix it. please help me to fix the issue, thanks
Change the channel of the host router as I explained in the video.
I observe that when using one mesh with RE305 and Archer AX10 the devices connected to the repeater receive only 25-30Mbps even after having a 200mbps connection. Also I get regular disconnection on my devices connected to the repeater. Is this behaviour and slow speed normal? And if I buy RE505X extender will it solve my problem?
Yeah, RE505X is much better, that's why also significantly more expensive.
@@TechReflex And is this behaviour of my current RE305 expected or something is wrong with my connection? When using one mesh it only connects with the 2.4ghz band of my router as i have smart connect on?
That has something to do with channels in the host router, 5ghz channel has to be set to 44 or 44 or 36 I think.
Can I connect it with my Netgear Nighthawk Mesh Wifi as a mesh system to get one unified wifi signal?
No it won't work in mesh with non tp link routers, you can however use the regular extender mode.
@@TechReflex Thanks brother for the reply but I want to know it is worth using it as normal extender mode because I have to connect it manually then by going into phone wifi settings.
Yeah, it works well that way, and you don't have to reconnect, I personally just turn phones wifi off and then on again instantly, and it automatically connected to network with more strength.
@@TechReflex thanks again man. I really appreciate it.
Hey! I too have a tp link extender to use with my Jio WiFi router but my extender can't find the 5ghz signal, 2.4ghz signal works fine....can u explain the solution in detailed form??
Set 5 GHz channel on Jio router to 36, 40, 44 or 48 like I showed in this video.
@@TechReflex can u tell how to configure it,, means how to open router settings??
Myjio app has no such advanced options!!
No idea about Jio router. You should be able to configure it with web interface, don't need to open Jio app. Try going to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 in browser
@@TechReflex ohk thanks...192.168.29.1 worked (found on internet)
@@TechReflex and 1 last question, that on which channel should i switch to.. means does switching channel decrease internet speed?? Also is 48 better than 36
Is it possible to set two ssid...one for router and one for extender.. i dont want same ssid..my phone is having confusion and frequeny disconnection in one ssid. Pls help?
Yeah that's possible
@@TechReflexthanks for quick reply bro. May i know how to setup that? Is that option availble in router or extender?
Extender app
What weird wall socket is that?
Bro can his big brother do 720p stream. 1080p gaming and more than 720p and less than 1080p and also among us online please answer
Yeah, it can easily do 200+ mbps so that shouldn't be an issue.
What's a WPS or WBS button (couldn't hear it clearly) I'm not able to find this button on my router
WPS button
Thanks for the reply... Unfortunately there's no button like that on my router, there's only an LED light with WPS written below.. I heard in your video that one needs to press the WPS button on the router
Sometimes it's also available in the setup page of router. Anyways, it's not necessary, you can also manually extend by choosing your network from the list of networks after scanning.
luckily I have a 2bhk house and the TP link Archer A6 is good enough.... no fun paying so much dough and RE305 is not cheaper 2500/- for a extender not router is way expensive.
i want to buy a extender specially for gigabit ethernet because my router only supports 100mb. i just bought a tplink ue300 3.0 gigabit adapter and a cat 6 cable.(tried everything to get a 1gb connection but nothing helped. i think my ethernet hub is only a 100m.) now i am trying to get a 1gb connection thru the wifi extender (re505x or re605x). but i am not sure if its gonna work or not. i just need some help🤷🏾
How will extender extend range of a 100mb router and provide gigabit speeds?
@@TechReflex thats what i am asking. it doesn't work right?
Nope
@@TechReflex i though its because of the ethernet hub?
@@TechReflex thank you for your help. i have to get a better router then. 😄
“If you want more complicated set of experience”
So another words don’t bother using the app 😂😂
this extender cost more than my router
Really what router you have
Bro need one help
But you're not using it as a wifi extender, you're using it as a wifi repeater? Wifi extenders are always wired to the router to extend it's wifi coverage, Repeaters connect to wifi and repeat the wifi connection with up to 50% bandwidth losses each time the connection is repeated.
My arris x5042 wifi extender is setup 150 feet away from the router and supplies me with 1000Mbits/1000Mbits to my desktop connected to wifi 6ghz 5 feet away from the extender.
Yeah, repeater is the more technically correct term, however, extender is the term most people know this as, and I don't think that it's necessary that it has to be wired, even official webpages of these devices call them an extender for wireless purposes.
3.00 RE605X does support One Mesh.
so I have to buy and update the firmware?
I can confirm the RE605X supports One Mesh right out of the box! 👍🏻
I want wifi repeater ..for extending my neighbour router range in my home as we shared the password
Nice but not worth the price
I just got the Tp link Archer Ax 50 need a WiFi 6 extender for my 200mbps speed
Hello bro how are u
Review the starlink😂 man
He is ready to review if u pay the price 😅😜
Can anyone suggest me a router for airtel broadband?
Ax21 tp link wifi 6
And this extender as one mesh mode about half way between the router
U COULD HAVE BUY A ANOTHER WIFI
ROUTER FOR 5,500 AND USE IT AS A EXTENDER !!
IT WOULD HAVE PROVIDED MORE PERFORMANCE !!
BE MUCH CHEAPER
1. TP Links routers don't support extender mode.
2. Not many wifi 6 options available in this range.
3. Performance wouldn't have been significantly better, the same principles that apply to extenders apply to routers too, so there would be a serious drop in max performance.
Bhai how to change channel of 5ghz
In your routers settings (advanced -> wireless)
@@TechReflex bro it doesnt hv the channel option after latest firmware upgrade from UI..not sure how to do it..

Not that good . TP link products not that good
Not good support in future also
Please check asus wifi router with wifi 6.0 support and compare with TP link router for extending wifi range
Yeah I can cover Asus routers but they are much more expensive. Other than the lack of support for extender mode in their routers, I haven't had any issues with tp link products so far in ~10 years.
Does the RE605x support 5Ghz bands in channels such as 149 , 150 , 165 etc or do we need to manually set the router to channels 36, 40 etc??
Probably not.
