    I should be getting my reflashed ecu (2017 outty 850 xt) today. I had the USA outlet for Monster FI do mine as well! I did the 91 tune. Aside all the goodies, they elelctro seal the board so it cannot be damaged by water. Guess the gen 2's have had some random problems with water getting past the stock seal. I also picked up the CVTECH clutch and hope to get that installed in a few days! Got the reflash done as I just installed a yoshi exhaust. Had to buy the ECU relocate bracket as I just picked up the CVT snorkle part. I'm not going full snorkel but wanted that port up to the pod as well, so now everything is up to the pod fully. Another nice informative video!!

    Yup, a guy needs to look his bike over real good once in a while. I do my TLC maintenance twice a year, once when I put the tires back after my tracking season ends, and again, when I take my tires off and put the tracks on for winter riding. A guy does NOT want to have issues out in the bush 20 miles from the truck, eh !?!? ... Good job Rob.

    Rob, love your channel! You always have great advice! Just had to protect the same wire harness on my outlander at the same exact location! I’ll have to check the snorkel boot. Question though, and I can’t seem to find this answer anywhere. I had the dealer install the snorkel when I bought my outlander. I’m wondering if the cvt intake still has a filter on it? I haven’t seen it if it is. And if there isn’t one I’m looking for a way to install one. Even if it’s just a small prefilter on the end of the tube.

    Rob, What do you recommend for the best tuning for a Can Am Outlander? Appreciate any feedback you have. Thanks for all the videos.

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  Před 2 lety

      Thanks Mark! A slip-on exhaust and a tuner will give you 4 or 5 more hp. I had an SPI pipe but can't remember the tuner. A tuner that can be hooked up to a computer and reprogrammed is the best one. If you're going for an ECU reflash to get rid of reverse override and up the speed limiters, then one that tunes for higher octane would work the best. I got mine done at Monster Ignition in Ontario but there's a few of them out there and everyone has their preference. I only had it done for regular fuel and it was comparable to the tuner (which you don't need after the reflash). It all depends on the kind of riding you're doing and what you want to achieve. An aftermarket clutch goes a long way too! It's all really beyond my technical abilities but there's a lot of setup information out there to search thru! Good luck with your tune and Happy Trails!

  • @samvaill89

    Did you like that reflase , with the boyosen water pump , its is more cold ? And no speed limiter that will be great

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  Před 4 lety

      Best part about the reflash is getting rid of the reverse limiter. There still is speed limiters but they have been raised so 95 percent of my riding is in low...I can hit 94kph in low! LOL! I didn't notice any heat difference with the water cooler but it does give the reassurance that the hose won't come off again! I only got the reflash for reg gas, there is apparently more performance gain if tuned for premium gas but I dont have premium stations in the country here.

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  Před 5 lety

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  Před 4 lety +1

      I had it done for 87 octane, so not a lot of power gain...would be more gain with a higher octane setting. I think the elimination of the reverse limiter is worth the price on it's own! Good Luck!
