Plastic waste in the ocean - here is what we can do about it

The world produces 300 million tons of plastic each year. About two percent of it - around eight million metric tons - ends up in the ocean.
But we can do something about it: Buy less plastic.
In Berlin a whole supermarket allows its customers to buy their shoppings plastic free: The idea behind "Original Unverpackt" (which translates to "genuine unpackaged") is that of a supermarket without the disposable packaging. Here, you can do your shopping without producing waste. There is no unnecessary plastic, no disposable elements, everything is organic, loose, and sustainable. In this film founder Milena Glimbovski explains her idea.
