Before Zack & Cody, there was Aly & AJ. ‘Potential Breakup Song’ is one of the best Disney songs to be released. instagram: imthehonestboy twitter: imthehonestboy business inquires: muyhonest@gmail.com
people always talk about the Jonas brothers but honestly I've always preferred Aly & AJ's music more especially their new material. they are SUPER underrated
lowkey, the music the jonas brothers released wasn't even that good 😬 aly & aj made their comeback about a year before and released one of the best eps i've ever heard but didn't get the same attention jb did. i'm still so bitter lol
They were only 12 and 14?? I thought they were like adults as kids. I’m old lol Edit they started at 12 and 14 I meant to put that in there. But still even at 16-17 we were all into drama and some shit lol 😂
Joan of Arc on the Dance Floor and Attack of Panic (non-album singles) in particular are two of my favorite songs from them! I heard them randomly on Spotify, loved them, and was so pleasantly surprised when I saw the artists were Aly and AJ!
It is very impressive just how invested and passionate these women have been since childhood regarding their art. As conventionally beautiful as they are it would have been very easy for them to get swallowed up by fame, fortune and partying. They must have had a very strong anchor at home or inside of themselves that kept their heads on their shoulders and empowered them to go the authentic route in spite of what it meant: flying very under the radar of mainstream until their resurgence today gave them the true recognition they deserve. Thanks Aly&AJ for making some of the best pop-rock singer/songwriter songs of this generation!
they definitely had a strong home anchor. they lived with their parents into their twenties, and their parents had an active hand in mentoring/coaching them to public success and notoriety. I would say that home training that they received as children definitely grounded them to explore a safer pathway than the excess of rock stardom that exists in other places in the world.
She was also in one of those hallmark-esq films called 'Expecting Amish' if you're into that. Alyson Stoner (cheaper by the dozen, camp rock) was in it too
Does anyone else feel like teenagers in the 2000s looked like in their mid-late 20s?? Now they look like early 20s when they’re in their teens. From a evolution/science standpoint lol, just something weird I’ve noticed.
@@PowerRangersFanAntiDinoFury the intro of gmo occurred in LATE 90s. I was regrettably part of that. It is a spiritual issue why the body matures quickly beforetime. When a child is introduced to adult themes, convos, and media, the brain releases hormones and body development occurs
A week ago they re-released “Potential break-up song” but an explicit version which made me so happy. That song is still a bop and after so many years I still remember all the lyrics 😎
This title is so irritating, it suggests that they just vanished into thin air; while they have been thriving on streaming platforms with probably their best music released, ever.
Honestly... Aly and Aj have been making bops without any kind of publicity or recognition. Take me, Church, and Joan of arc on the dance floor are all fire.
@@danielbergonzi7319 who cares about airplay? Name one single beyonce song in the past 5+ years that got any airplay. Yet she still got 9 grammy noms this year lol. Radio is dead.
It's more because a lot of people haven't followed their careers, who might see this video and go "yeah what DID happen to Ally & AJ?" I don't think it's a misleading title at all
I saw Aly & Aj last summer when they played a show at the academy in Dublin July 13th and they blew me away. They sound so ethereal live, it was one of my childhood dreams to see them live and finally at the age of 21 I got to see them. I can’t wait for their new album and look forward to seeing them again when they come back to Ireland. If you are a fan and haven’t gotten the chance to see them live yet I really do recommend going to see them.
How weird that I’m literally wearing an Aly and AJ shirt right now and this video just came out. I met them like two years ago at a performance at a bar here in Phoenix. It was kind of annoying because they literally came out like three hours late. They’re really good live though.
They are releasing their new album soon. Their latest album was very 80s inspired and was perfection. This new album seems to be going in the indie/alternative route and so far all the songs released are also perfection. They can do no wrong and deserves so much more appreciation, they defy the meaning of underrated right now.
SAME, I was utterly blown away when I found out that the AJ half of Aly and AJ was Catra -- I hadn't been paying attention to her career in a while and I had no idea she'd pursued voice acting, and then suddenly here she is giving me a new favorite character of all time???
they were literally on every 2000's Disney Channel movie soundtrack and i was here for it. also they're dropping an explicit version of Potential Breakup Song in like 3 days

Every song released by them in recent years starting from Take Me has been so good. It seems like they are really enjoying the music they are making too. Glad to see when mainstream musicians go after what they want to make rather than popularity.
I think this is truly one of your best put together videos. I love these "what happened to" or "where are they now" videos. Thank you for putting in the time and research for our benefit :D

Potential Breakup Song, Chemicals React and Rush are my jams to this day!!! Their newer stuff is amazing too. Church and Take Me are such amazing songs...visually too, the music videos were so entertaining. Aly & AJ will always have a special place in my heart.
I saw them on tour in 2019 and all my childhood dreams came true. They are amazing live and still have so much passion for music and performing. Class acts.
"ten years" and "sanctuary" eps are just amazing. A very good grow for the sisters and for who, like me, fully grew up with their music. They grew up, their fans did as well. They are about to release something new in these days. Can't wait. They are very talented, just give them a listen and then tell me
Proud to say I never stopped being there fan and have always followed them. Sometimes it got really frustrating because they didn’t get the attention they deserved, but I’m happy the tides are changing
I swear they are the sweetest. Last year they did a tour in Europe and I met them afterwards their concert in The Netherlands, they really took the time to talk to everyone who waited for them and got a picture with them🥰
