Hey @ChrisAbroad I didn't get to ask but where was that Blade runner street you showed up in a video awhile ago. I'm going to Japan next spring and we wanted to visit it.
A bit unfortunate that they seem to only send to the US and not the EU.
hey Chris,I love yor content, and I kno 3 days since this video; but I was curious about how yor feeling about all the political military activity and preparation goin on out there right now? im just wondering if u feel nervous at all or if its not really on yor mind and just keep living yor day to day without thinking about it
Lookin' good, Chris! Keep it up! Hello from Southern California, USA. đđ»ââïžâïž
What an amazingly fun life you've must have lived! âïž
56:00 for anyone wondering when Chris starts talking about why heâs moving to Tokyo.
Thanks for this!
Thank you!!!
The real MVP! â€ïž
Bless you

Who are these people complaining that you had too much fun? Please just know that the vast majority of your viewers are not sociopaths and do enjoy seeing you guys have fun. Never feel like you have to cut down on the fun because an odd few strange people feel the need to complain about it.
Timestamp?
Gimme all the fun!!
Envy
As someone who doesn't agree with those complaints but was there when they happened; what people were actually complaining about with that Journey Across Japan was that it was probably the least 'about Japan' thing Chris had really done. They went on an expensive boat, stayed in an expensive hotel, but it was all very 'you could do this anywhere' and just felt a lot like Chris taking his friends on a very flashy holiday.
I still found it fun to watch but I actually do appreciate why for some people it didn't really feel quite right for what the channel usually offers.
ââ@@aduboo29exactly. Spending more money does not equal a better experience. There's tons to do around Japan, that's very "Japan like" that Chris can do that doesn't break the bank or have to be super flashy.
As a quick example. When he went on a nature walk on a snow mountain (5 years ago or so) There was no talking allowed during the walk, but it was an amazing thing to see, and it felt like something only you'd see in japan.
Unlike the previous couple of livestreams, I'm watching this one, in *_the proper way!_*
After it's finished!
Chris, whatever you make, Iâll watch it. I donât care if itâs super different or doesnât even mention Japan. Youâre a great filmmaker.
Studio expansion suggestions: (1) onsen, so you can relax on your own or with your mates during or after a stream; (2) traditional Japanese shrine or tea room; (3) the Sharla room--let her decorate it with an Explosion of Cuteness.
For the new studio, I think it would be good to add more chairs/tables somewhere other than the ramen restaurant bar. The restaurant bar gets used so often because it's so easy to set up the cameras/microphone/computer there. Maybe in one of the alleyways have a table like they would have right outside of a small bar or restaurant on the streets of Japan. Also the train idea is really cool.
They don't put tables on the street in Japan.
@@Kristenm28 Wait what? What about renga zaka street in nakano or the many bars in Shinjuku that put 1 to 2 tables outside? Watch any of Pete or Connorâs IRL streams and youâll see they often find places where they can sit outside. Also look up Yatais in Fukuoka.
i literally GASPED when I saw the visuals and cinematography when Frozen Frontiers sneak peek was played. I can't wait!!!
Chris, you're like all of our best friend and brother rolled into one. So happy with all your success so far. Been supporting and watching you for years and am loving your growth. Gambateh!
Chris ditch the projector. Get a very large 4K monitor and make a new window with a city street scene outside. Add a very low volume sound of city life and this set would become very realistic people wouldn't be able to tell if It was real or not. That would really bring the set to life
To be fair, you really do shine in your documentaries. You can see how much your skills have grown and how much you love what youâre doing. They are a pleasure to watch.
Congratulations to you and Sharla. â€đ
57:22 I know that feeling. I currently live in a town surrounded by volcanoes all visible from my second floor. It's great honestly since they are at the right distances.
A present from me to all the Bocci the rock! fans out there: 18:52
i never expected to hear that
I clicked and got an ad đ
you sir are a man of culture
Chris omurice
Did you ask that in live chat?
Just so you know Chris, you legit have the most calming voice. It works for your voiceovers but also for your live streams and podcasts.
FFS stay gold, pony boy. Your content got me through the pandemic and still is better than any television.
Kudos Chris! You totally deserve the yakitori after the charity stream.
Can't wait for the journey across Japan to hit CZcams!
After the peak of interviewing Ken Watanabe, it's time for a new goal... interview the Emperor.
Come to Taiwan! Especially the south (Kaohsiung, Tainan) where you'll meet the nicest people :)
Chris, you're looking good. You've slimmed down. Good work mate! đđŸ
Chris has mellowed out a lot. Before he'd say people are very disappointed meeting him in person, but now he's welcoming it xDđ
Pleasant surpirse seeing this since I think youâve mentioned in the past that you donât like to leave the live-streams up on the channel
I feel the opposite, I don't want livestreams to populate my Subscriptions page. I hope this is a temporary thing.
@@user-lz5vh9bb5w what a weird thing to complain about
â@@user-lz5vh9bb5w tbh ppl who use their subscription page have too much time on their hands )
@@ahmoh9064 Not really no. )
â@@ahmoh9064 how so? There's a reason the subscriptions page exists.
Let's goooo so excited to see journey across japan covering Ainu culture!
This was an amazing stream. Can we get more Sake Chris Streams in the future
Thank you Chris as a good mate .. you got me through a hard time.. cheers. Happy for you mate
Don't compare your good from your bad ! Every video you release I certainly enjoy ! And I'm sure everyone else does ! Keep up the great work ! Ps I love the podcasts too !
I've been loving the Tozai Snow Maiden from the prior sake stream! Love to see your taste tests, since we seem to like similar things.
Watching after the live. Looking healthy and happy Chris
Dammit, I only just found this channel. Missed the stream, but excited to see whatâs next for you!
Chris, I seriously love your cinematography and I hope you have a chance to do some fun projects soon â€
Chris, an experience I had in Japan drinking Sake was one I will never forget. The Sake was infused with Fugu fin that was roasted over charcoal and put into your Sake. If you like Sake! You must try this!!! And yes, you look much better with less weight rather than bitter with weight. From Canada, all the best!
Love your work man, God bless you and your shagging beautiful soul !
A cool idea for the studio could be a small japanese balcony. Could do a very similar thing with the projector. Chuck in some grimy ac units, a couple of lanterns and of course an overflowing ash tray. I'd imagine it wouldn't be too horrendous to build either.
Just did two weeks in Koiwa in a little ryokan thanks to your channel for loads of tips on travel and things to see. †keep up the amazing work. I hope to come back in January to see some more of the beautiful country. Probably heading to Kyoto for something different.
CHRIS 110% HELPED MY FIRST TRIP TO JAPAN 32 DAYS!! NOW I PLAN A SECONDIN NOVEMBER AND CAN NOT GET ENOUGH OF HIM, NATSUKI, SHARLA AND CHRISDAWGVA
Can't wait for the new series!!!
I cant quite remember which one was the first video I ever saw from you but I think it has been about 7 years or so now. Man time flies.
Chris, you are great.
Congratulations on the wedding Chris
I canât wait for your book, Chris!! I truly think you should read it for audiobook, you have a great voice!
Too bad i missed the mayhem.
Glad he's getting better at promoting
Also, when people say you had way too much fun, they really enjoyed you guys having fun most of the times (i s o breaking your neck on bloody traintracks in Kyushu for example)
Wow Chris, you're looking great!
Please keep this up Chris :)
Definitely consider Taipei to be up there with the most amazing cities Iâve visited. A plus for calling Taiwan a country, too đčđŒ
An homage to the Nakagin capsule tower (RIP đ) would be so cool! The residential capsules always felt like a cyberpunk-style bedroom to me.
Wish they went up for sale. Would ship one back to Australia, and slap it in some cheap outback land.
Great honest fun with Sake!
As an avid cyclist who bikes up to 7,500 km's on a mountain and fat tire bike here in Canada it's great to see you and Conner go on your cycling adventures for charity. The key to keeping in biking shape is consistency, i.e.. Get a stationary bike for training, biking as often as possible and avoid Family Mart, alcohol and eating out. There are so many hidden fats, sugars, and calories in fast food. Then you'll have the welcome problem of keeping on weight! Especially on a big fat tire bike, the 4x4 of bikes. đ
"hidden"
That Yakuza scene with Natsuki was really amazing. I loved to see it again now. Really well done! Cinema quality!
Your ryotaro impression is spot on
I agree, good sake makes all the difference.
I would love to see the Yonezawa festival on your channel! I was high school exchange student for the summer of 2008 and was able to experience the festival and surrounding countryside! Hiking and staying up at a hot spring hotel in the mountains was amazing đđŒ
Man I always love Chris's Ryotaro impression
its so nice to hear the moment you first spoke japanese was when you met natsuki is so nice, some things are meant to be!
Love you, your channel and your content please keep going
MANOR, Texas loves your vlogs!!! Cheers Sir!!
Definitely missed the stream live, but I did want to say... You are looking really good. I've been seeing improvements in your color and outward appearance.
I love the idea of the train/subway set! But you could also make it interchangeable in a few ways. For instance if you're interviewing/talking with Connor, it could have posters (looking like subway ads) of Jojo. For Joey, anime, for Sharla neko, etc. You could also add in some figurines if more a train setting. Hmm, I wonder why there are no themed trains there (or are there)?
Yes Hello KItty, cheers Muffy from Oz.
Just completed my tippsy sake order, looking forward to getting my first 3 bottles! Ikimashooooo
it's fun to live in Tokyo, but I totally agree with Chris Japan is more than Tokyo.
Some day Iâll actually watch one of these while itâs happening. Not a lot of sake drinking in Wyoming but considering (where I am), the interstates keep shutting down, I think it might be a good time to start. Maybe Iâll start a trend. Snowing? Sake! I-80 closed again? Sake! Bored out of my freakinâ mind? You got it - sake!
After not watching for a year or so, I just found out Chris and Sharla are engaged - didnât even know they were dating. Congratulations to you both!!
Thank you for mentioning the Shikoku 88 - I completed that back in 2017, and definitely a life-changing experience - but living in the UK it has absolutely no meaning to anyone, so I've since stopped mentioning it. Hopefully your comment on it will make it more well known!
I even wrote a small book about it with photos to add to the imagery.
1:21:23 You are crushing it with these cinematic intros! I got chills when the theme music kicks in! đ
Iâm from Sendai and Iâm very sad you are moving out đ„Čplease keep making contents about Tohoku đđđ
Lookin good Chris
Going to miss Sendai as well, especially the studio. Feels like you just got it
Chris. I was wandering⊠do you know that some of us are very old, perhaps older than your parents, watching you. If you ask why? I love Japan, I am sarcastic and you are very good at what you are doing! ( sometimes going over the topâŠ.. but itâs ok)
Coming in very late for sure, but I will just add on that I love seeing you guys have fun!! Whoever complained about that is crazy
Hi. Thanks for making such great content. I miss your sarcasm from the early videos. A series of the lesser known big cities, like Matsue, Fukui, Okayama, Komatsu would be interesting. Greetings, Dominik.
I just hope this doesn't mean we'll see Ryotaro less. But I'm happy that this is actually more convenient for Natsuki to guest star in the end, who's the real OG and I prefer seeing over the other "Japan vlogger" guest stars.
Damn shame I missed this one, its really fun catching Chris live.
wait
Wait people were complaining about the last JAJ?? Wtf!? I loved it
Congrats in earning over half a million in funds , loving the live chats stream of conscientiousness keep it up..
thanks to whoever added the highlight in sponsorblock!
Juni Moon is a tiny store -enjoy! Itâs kind of in a weird neighborhood where you probably have to take a taxi to get there. But worth the trip if in Japan and love Blythe dolls!
You are killing me ⊠every time you say âChrisâ ⊠I have to drink a slug of Sake ⊠lol. Thank God I love it as well
I found the Niizawa Brewery sake in my local liquor store here in Colorado!! I couldn't help but think "as seen on youtube" and had to try it lol seriously fantastic Sake!!
Hey Chris you really look a lot healthier than you did last year. Congratulations on that. Good luck with moving to Tokyo. Hopefully you give us a tour of your new flat.
My idea for the new set is something like tea ceremony room or dojo where there is a huge empty space. might be fun to invite people and doing food review, podcast?, greet and talk, etc. using tatami mat.
I just recently saw Cat Nation and I enjoyed you in it quite a lot. Don't know what the problem was, you were great.
My bass player had been in the Air Force and spent some time inJapan. He loved it and got me to try some and I actually liked it.
So excited for your cinematic projects! Your photography is awesome, and your narrative projects. Excited to see what you make. :)
I would love to see more documentary/interview type videos.
Iv been away for a while and havenât been able to watch and I gotta say you look like you lost weight and just better over all so well done
Loved living in Tokyo â€
So glad I can watch this recording at the vaguely civilised Kiwi time of 630am. All the best for the move, looking forward to more Western Japan content.. Also, be aware that New Zealand has NO murder-spiders so we're a good choice for Abroad in Japan Down Under!
Wow the map is awesome mate! Never knew you had a website. I was also thinking abroad in Taiwan would be awesome! Also mate, what about the islands off of Nagasaki like fukue island. Seems like it could have some comedic gold in the name.
56:01 for the title of the video. The reason Chris is moving to Tokyo!
It's honestly really sad how, wherever you go, the big cities are always where people have to go for university or job opportunities. I was thinking of doing my master's degree in Japan and I really like the Akita/Yamagata area. Unfortunately, the universities there aren't well known. In fact, I'd say Sendai's Tohoku University is probably the only reason Sendai is growing since the rest of Tohoku is shrinking. Most other big universities are in Tokyo or Osaka. If you want the best opportunities, moving to big cities is inevitable nowadays
Hello from Gibraltar.. yep that Rock
đđđđ love your American infomercial voice lol fr though you should write the weight loss book I'd buy it. I'm excited to read your book sounds good I will be buying it. đđđ Happy for you and sharla i always wanted to see you guys together and now your getting marriedđđđ Very excited for the content to come out of the move to the big city... if new York is the big apple what is Tokyo? The big.....? I can't belive natsuki iiiisss going to be 50 đź he looks so young!!! Proof that staying fun will keep you young forever lol and no kids lol they instantly age you like 1,000 years lol loving the video guide mapđđđđđ I wish CZcams did this already so everyone had these little maps but im super grateful because you go to dinne wonderful places and this will be a spectacular tool in helping me to plan my first trip†I think ive finally decided fall for my first time then spring lol flowers or autumn leaves so hard to choose but totally effects what parts of Japan to go to.
Abroad in... Abroad. Abroad Abroad! There we go.
Oh, you could make it pirate themed- All Abroad
All Aboard for Abroad Abroad
Lauterbrunnen is amazing! I'd love to live in Interlaken. So jealous of people there too.
Ideas to expand the narrow back alley area? How about replicating cool locations from your favourite anime/movie around Japan? How about the Akira underground bar scene with the cd jukebox before the gang heads out to fight the clowns gang? Something cool about Ghost in the Shell or Perfect Blue? That would make an interesting filming area...
Watching from Atlanta.
Amazing, wife and I were in Tokyo a couple of weeks ago. We visited all over, Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Himeji, Miyajima , etc.
Ideas for the studio I think a better place to stream would be good as sometimes that spot doesn't seem the best as you struggle for space.
At least you didn't drop the glass bottled Sake eh ? đ
Facial hair works really well for you, NEVER let family or friends guilt you into shaving !!
Chris do a street izakaya stall next to the candy shop.
Not even 2 minutes in and Iâm already laughing at Chrisâs impression of Ryotaro. đ
31:38 According to the Paleo diet you can eat as much chicken as you like. It's carbohydrates like potatoes, rice and bread that you have to avoid. .o
My main man Chris!
