- Barnet Football Club took on Borehamwood FC in the FA Cup at The Hive.

Barnet & Borehamwood both play in the National League (English football's highest non league level) but there's a good bit of difference between the two sides. Borehamwood are pushing for promotion in 2nd whilst Barnet lie 17th. This FA Cup match would be a test to see who could progress to the 1st Round Proper.

Greetings from New Zealand, I have chatted with you before, I never ever thought that you would ever feature Barnet. When I was living in London in 1991, Barnet had just gained promotion to the football league, I think that it was Division 4 back then. I was looking for a team to support, I couldn't bring myself to support Arsenal, didn't really fancy Spurs, the other nearest club at the time was Barnet, they are of course grass roots, and I decided to follow them. They are a yo-yo team, I think a club of their finances, and resources should be back in the EFL, however their form has slipped, to the point where they are having difficulty retaining players and managers, and attracting a decent and settled squad. A lot of supporters question the motives of the chairman. I look forward to going back to the UK one day, and seeing Barnet in the EFL, where I believe they belong. The North London derby no one has ever heard about. Perhaps because Borehamwood is in Hertfordshire.

I’m a Barnet supporter and we’ve spent more time at the ground in national league than league two, you won’t see any better facilities in the championship or even the premier league…not the ground itself but what it’s got inside it
As a Carlisle fan we had a bit of a beef with Barnet. Through gritted teeth I have to say it looks like a good community club. Great facilities. In truth if I lived in North London I think I’d probably get my football fix there.
We will probably be back next season!

Great vlog Sam! Good to see a Derby like this being shown about! Our game v Barnet was a battle of 2 extremely poor teams. Boreham Wood are typically the smallest club in the league but their squad is class and look good for a promotion push and turned up in numbers too! Nice one! 👍🏻

Borehamwood now are what Barnet were a few years ago, massively overachieving for the size of their club, and good for them. A little sad to see how far Barnet have dropped , with their facilities they should be football league at least instead of barely surviving in the National League. Great video 👍

I'm from Edinburgh and a Hearts supporter but I was in North London when I saw the Barnet Shop I went in and bought a Barnet Top and Scarf it looks a bit like the Dundee United strips and the scarf had the "Bees" on it. so Yes I have heard of that derby match.

Last time I went to Barnet FC (Underhill) Barry Fry was in-charge of them, late 80's (Barnet v Cheltenham).

i knew about that Barnet are in north London and borenwood are in Hertfordshire. Both teams in national league fifth tier of English football
Great video, could argue both clubs are Hertfordshire though although Barnet moved deeper into London and Borehamwood has London busses, which feels strange to me living only 15 miles up the road to see them.

Not really a North London Derby, could be considered a Hertfordshire Derby. Similar to how Barnet v Stevenage was dubbed as. Also Borehamwood is in Hertfordshire. That aside a great video
true the only real north london derby is spurs v barnet but still more of a north london derby than woolwich v spurs and watford v spurs since borehamwood is closer to north london than watford

I visited Barnet once, I have family there, had no idea they had a football team. Also thought Brentford where I lived at the time were The Bees.

you should go to the maidenhead ground because it holds the record for the oldest stadium in the world, the ground has been there since 1870 and is still standing
Isn't Borenham Wood in Hertfordshire? If it is, how can this be a 'North London Derby'?

Borham Wood like Watford is Hertfordshire but Spurs Women play at Barnet while Woolwich Women play at Boreham Wood
Looks a stadium way too good for the level of football, hopefully the on the pitch performances can match the level over the next few years and get back into the football league. Richard definitely seems knowledgeable, will check out his stuff.
