And the most important thing for a youtuber's sandblasting cabin - you can see the sandblasting process crystal clear! I wish to you all the best and to work on even better and more complex restorations in your new workshop for many years to come. Cheers!
I love my sandblaster. A couple of tips that may help. measure the glass and get a couple of spare pieces cut at the local glass shop as I only get a few months out of mine. Clear contact can help but everything goes frosty after a while. Your compressor will run continuously while you’re blasting as it uses a lot of air so run a good water separator. I run the air through a large automotive transmission cooler so the air cools down and the water condenses. This gets caught in a dedicated water trap. This set up is placed just before the air enters the cabinet and it’s amazing how much water it collects. Run proper media, I use garnet as it’s sharp and lasts a long time. Just don’t use sand as it gets smashed so it doesn’t last long and the dust, if it leaks out, can cause silicosis of the lungs. If the item you are blasting is heavily contaminated with thick paint it’s worth using paint stripper first to help keep the media clean. Blasting anything oily or greasy is a disaster as it contaminates the media and then that can contaminate everything you blast after that. I blasted something with old contact glue on it and while it removed the glue, it contaminated my media like small pieces of a plastic bag and kept get caught in my gun and blocking the media flow. It’s just about all gone now but never again. If an item is rusty, even heavily rusted, I just blast it with no pre cleaning as the rust just comes off like dust and the filter catches it. I hope some of this is useful and I don’t want to sound like a “know all”, it just things I have learnt over the last 15 years of having mine. Good luck, they’re so a great thing to have. Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺
That's all very interesting. When watching CZcams restoration videos, it always seems as though a sandblaster is like a kind of 'magic wand' - just spray sand at something and it magically come clean. Your explanation confirms that the truth is that a sandblaster is just like any other tool - there is a right way and a wrong way - and there is no such thing in life as a magic wand.
@@caseyjones166 Hey Stephen, spot on.👍👍
Interesting about the rust. I always thought the reason some YTs strip/take of most of the rust before blasting was to make the media work for longer, and that the rest were just lazy or didnt mind not saving money on it
Hey Stuart thanks a lot for this info. Very valuable and much appreciated that you took the time to write this all down
@@NTRprojects Happy to try and help. I love your channel. 👍👍👍
Setting that up was a chore! I think both you and your assistant deserved a beer!
Got yourself a sandblaster! Bravo!
That deserved a good beer! Congratulations!
No restoration no beer tasting, but I have something for you (the link to the leaderbord): docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1__aqQ4unAJDH8GCk3PQvGwrdrvOTj0QeTJdoJBN6Rn8/edit?usp=sharing
@@NTRprojects Thanks so much!
Oh, so satisfying, for you I'm sure, but also for us watching.
Nice! Finally you got the sandblasting machine!
I cheered when I saw that little window, buddy. Congratulations!
*happy squee* I'm so glad you got your sandblaster!!! CONGRATS!! That is AWESOME!!
Thanks a lot for watching and commenting Tonja
Your Workshop looks fantastic.
Congrats to your New sandblasting cabine
Congratulations!! That fit perfectly. You think someone measured or something!🤣Dr Beer, you deserve this. But now you can't go to Mr. P's place to use his. You guys will just have to find some other reason to get together, maybe test a beer or two.😉Well done sir, and I can't wait for your next restoration!
There's something in the planning Vickie. Not for regular visits, but something is definitely in the planning... 😬
great great. Everybody knew it from the start : the machine is a POWERFUL magnet - a click magnet. Great workshop BTW.
Thanks a lot for watching and commenting Sandro Dunatov
Hell, Yeah, enjoy it, Sir. I'm looking forward for new "Not terrible" projects with that beast. R.
Congrats 👍🏼
The shop is looking really good. Congrats on the latest buy! Cheers.
Awesome, I wish the one I use was so new.
I saw in another person's comment about extra pieces of glass. Talk with the manufacturer, some companies have underlayment that is very thin material to protect the window. It can be replaced when it becomes cloudy. Much less expensive than replacing the glass. I also recommend having a fine mesh wire basket for smaller parts, it saves a lot of wear on your gloves. Oh and speaking of gloves, remember to turn them inside out and clean regularly. I have to share the blast cabinet with coworkers.
Great idea with the gloves Pamela
That sand blaster has a nice face 😊
Very nice! I’m jealous 🙂
That’s a fine addition to your shop Dr Beer. Congratulations!
Nice Upgrade... Can't wait to see it in action.
Me neither
I can Hear the angels sing🎉!! Congrads in the new addition!
Oh I heard them too. Great to see your smile again
I agree with you, mate. It's a pity that some people don't. 😕 take care 🇦🇺🇦🇺
I’ve only ever seen the sandblasting itself before. It was cool to see the whole sandblasting unit! A lot of unboxing videos can be boring, so thank you for making an entertaining assembly video! 👍👍
Great addition, glad to see it assembled and tested!
Nice addition to the shop. You will need to perfect your headbuting of the perspex viewing window like Hand Tool Rescue does, that's the industry standard for using a sandblaster...🤣🤣
I first have to perfect it they way he has
Nice work shop. Tidy too
Thanks a lot for watching and commenting Gerald Fitzgibbon

Congratulations
Thanks!!
Amazing! I'm sure this will be very helpful for you and future projects. Nice colour too👌 💙
Glad to hear that you liked it so much xxPenjoxx
Very nice quality sand blast cabinet. I hear walnut is the better than sand but I'm not speaking from experience. Cant wait to see the next project.
Will look into it, for now I go with corundum, as its a long lasting medium
Wow, so happy for you. I'd love a sandblaster!
Me too :)
Perfect looking workshop!
Thanks Theo Brandt. Glad to hear that you liked it so much

Your workshop has really come along nicely. Good job Lucas. Next video try out cheap American made beer 🍺🤣
Oh come on, not this guy again and again and again. :D you really want me to go for a bud?
@@NTRprojects as an American I feel that we have the worst beer out of any 1st world country. Pbst blue ribbon, Schlitz, bud light turns kind people into demons, bud wiser is crap. I want to know what a German thinks of it 🤣.
Nettes Spielzeug. Wirkt auch wertig im Video. Gratuliere dazu 👍

I hope someday I can get my hands on a sandblaster, great addition to the shop! Congrats again! Well deserved!
Thanks a lot for watching and commenting Joseph Brokenbourgh my dear Patron
It's a very nice shop you got there 👌🏻
Great Shop. Iam jealous. Greetings from Hamburg
A hint from my (late) father: don't sandblast lead paint. Not only are you aerosolizing lead, which is generally not a great idea, you run the risk of clogging the nozzle and hoses. Lead was used in paint both as an opacifier and as an adherent; when heated by friction lead particles will soften and stick to the blast medium, creating clumps. This is not a big deal when working in open air - say, when sandblasting the side of a battleship in dry dock - but the clumps can permanently clog nozzles and hoses when working in a closed system where the blast medium recirculates.
It's been forty years, and I can still hear Dad cursing like a Maine State Trooper over having glommed up his gun and nozzle because he didn’t think to check if the paint contained lead.
Thank you. I am in search for lead tests, but so far I didnt find good ones
Congrats!
Thanks razorboyXVII
Congratulatios!!! I strongly believe you will have to reinforce the feet, the plate the casters are on.
Good idea
Bardzo przytulne miejsce do pracy...
New toy time!
Remember to check your hoses every time you sandblast. If the hoses feel soft then you need to replace them. Also look at your door and window gaskets for wear and abrasion.
Okay will do that Peter!!!
Congratulations on your purchase. It looks awesome! :)
Thanks Michael. great to see your comment again
A nice addition to your shop and I'm having a beer for you.🍺🍺🍺
Sounds great!
Awesome unboxing video! Love that blue powder coat! Looks like a great sandblaster. 👍
1:00 I’m fairly sure I heard angels singing at this point.
Yes I heard them too
I never saw a shot blaster unboxed before this.
That is a nice addition to the shop! Can't wait to see the restorations you do with it!
Nice blaster, nice shop.
Thanks 👍
TSHH.AWESOME.
What fun! It must feel like Christmas!
Yes exactly !
Спасибо! Ждём интересных работ!! 🙏😊
большое спасибо Роман Салов
Looking good!
Although, as nice as that cabinet is, all I could think was, "The box it came in didn't half look like an MFO box"! 😂
No and it was a hustle to open that thing
Yeah, that was definitely a nice edition to your shop. Shop is great looking as well!
I think so too!
LOOKIN' GOOD, KEEP SAFE
You too bob
That was really interesting - I always wondered how they were configured so thanks for sharing this set up! I am totally jealous of your workshop - it is super! I can't wait for your next project; stay safe ☺
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏CONGRATULATIONS, it's late but it's sincere!
You're year 2. The quality of your work from your first video to your last is impressive. It's clear you're researching and putting in a lot of work to plan out these projects. If other restoration channels are any sort of guide, I think it's very safe to say you''ll hit 1mil subs by year 4, if not sooner. Keep it up, your videos are great.
lets cross fingers :)
But the cabinet and long gloves always reminds me of a scene from Alien 😀
The shop looks great! And I appreciate how much effort you put into the filming and editing of your videos.
German engineered equipment is the best. Even the damned crate it came in looked fantastic! Make sure you keep that crate too! :)
I have plans for that one. Stay tuned
Lufthanse teknik pants!

No beer today? 😉
Maybe you could do a video on a workshop tour and introduce the machinery you use.

i really thought it was going to be a massive beer fridge :)
Hahaha I will look into that
Cool stuff.👍
Looks awesome and that was some tight clearance. Maybe look into graphene coating glass to give it longevity at not an extreme cost.
Runs nice and quiet.....
Yes it does, thank you
Happy sandblasting!! All's fair in love and restorations right??? lol
You got that right!
OMG OMG Congratulations!!!! And thank you for sharing how that came together. I've seen sandblasting on so many restoration videos, and never really understood how it was put together until today. Did it feel like a treat / easy to be putting together something that didn't have to be disassembled and cleaned first?
Ótima aquisição. Será uma ferramenta muito útil. Parabéns.
Did you not enjoy a cold beer after setting this up?? As a home-brewer and beer lover, I really enjoy those interludes/evaluations that you do!
