    It’s an insult media darlings like Lampard get linked with these top jobs. Lampard will not be a good manager until he’s humble enough to start at his level and work up. Rooney gets a lot of stick but at least he’s going to lower Championship rather than waiting for an undeserved job above his level.

    • @Samuel-ln1oc
      @Samuel-ln1oc Před 12 dny

      Fair I agree with that but if we’re honest, Plymouth are a much smaller club than Birmingham regardless of league positions. He has a bit of credit in the bank from Derby in the circumstances and he deserves a chance at Plymouth’s level with a pre season behind him. But if he fails at Plymouth then difficult to come back from. Lampard on the other hand has underachieved throughout and has not taken accountability like Rooney has which is why it’s insulting that Lampard is waiting for a top job with no merit to do so.

      firstly I agree that FL shouldn't be England manager, but that comment is wrong. derby was fucked by their owner, lampard nearly got them promoted. at chelsea, first season he got top 4 under a transfer embargo and best player left in the summer, also in the fa cup final. second season was a failure ultimately why he got the sack and tuchel took charge. everton, well that clubs been run down by thier owners hence why thier trying to sell the club, plus he saved them in the first season.
      the second stint at Chelsea, included 40 players that half of them didnt want to be there , Todd boehly acting as sporting director and potter previously messed up everything.

      Chelski speaks for itself they still havnt recovered from the mess he left them in.
      And at Everton if u look back on it it's the points that rafa got that kept them up. It's all just revisionist history from people who liked him as a player.

      at Everton at the time.
      You should know all the facts before you drew any conclusion you are just swallowing the 💩
      Everton put out to the public hook line & sinker.
      You should have heard
      what Lampard had to say
      on Monday night football last season, you would think very definitely.
      Lampard had one vision of how he wanted to play
      the game the Everton board sead they would back him then that did not happen he wanted certain players & the board did not back him in his vision, as he was under contact he had to play the way the board wanted him to play with the players they wanted to bring in not his choice of players.
      It would only work with
      England if the F.A. where willing to back Lampard to the hilt witch they would not do as they want a yes man as

    Football, especially English football, is the one of only two sectors in society where constant failures are constantly rewarded with more chances to keep falling upwards. The other sector being politics the last 14 years. Makes me sick.

    • @BadAppleBlues
      @BadAppleBlues Před 17 dny

      It isn't just in England when managers get rewarded for failure or do you think that managers in other countries don't get their contracts paid off when they are relieved of their duty? I know that the Tories were useless but blimey! MP's from all parties have been rewarded for their incompetence for decades and decades, not just the last 14 years. The shower of sh!te we have in power now will be equally rewarded when they prove themselves to be just as bad as the last lot that have just been given the boot lol

      @@BadAppleBlues - No. There is no “both sides are equally bad” equivalency to this. That’s the kind of lazy rationalisation failures hope people keep having so they can keep taking advantage of you. There is no equivalent to relentless failures like Frank Lampard failing all the way up into the England job. There hasn’t been and is no equivalent to relentless failures like Johnson lying and failing all the up to PM, having to be run out of office, then being treated like a returning hero for it. Your point-blank refusal to see it for what it is is - literally - their superpower.

    That Sunday's Euro2024 Final is likely to be Gareth Southgate's last game in-charge of England is probably the only accurate part of that suggestion by Gary Lineker.
    We need to be thinking more along the lines of an elite manager of the calibre of Klopp, Guardiola, Mourinho et al.
    Nice fella though Frank Lampard is.
    Legendary player though he was.
    He's still in the early developmental stages of his managerial career.
    Although I would have no issue with him working as an U21 manager or even an Assistant Manager or Coach to an established manager who has already acheieved at the elite level.

Personally I would look to go abroad, nothing wrong with a foreign manager, especially if there is no clear quality candidates at home. I wanted Bielsa after the leeds job. Atm I wouldn't mind Poch. He's worked with some of players and knows the English game. Easier transition.
