This is one of those rare gems that you hear/see around and never know the title. But in this case I never heard this GREAT song despite Then Jerico was unknown for most of all the people. Belinda a beauty as usual... Thank you for help me to rediscover one of those rare gems.
I have had this song for years but didnt know there was a vid. knew it was belinda carlisle as was fan of hers at time too! I think I liked Mark as he bared resemblence to Morten Harket, lol
God I cant believe i was a teenager when i bought the album!! just bought a compilation cd from ebay. made me think of looking on here. just seen some videos of them live from The Tube that I remember watching at the time.
One of the best songs from the 80's. HOT singer, HOT Belinda and great song!. She made it in 1988 because she wanted to do the backups, as she did also backups in that same age for Brian Wilson (Beach Boys) and Glen Frey (The Eagles, this one also with Jane from The Go-Go's)
Brillint. was in Glasgow one weekend for a football game, got chatting to a girl in hotel bar about music and she says 'you ever hear of Then Jericho they are playing round the corner in King Tuts Hut tonight' we had great night. I still have never met anyone who likes them which is a shame but hey their loss
One of the best TJ songs is 'Big Area' from the soundtrack to the Mark Hamil / Early Bill Paxton film - Slipstream. Now THAT is a great song. This one is good as it has TJ and BC in it. :) Thanks for uploading.
thank you for this. i spent hours looking for the name of the band because i forgot...all i remember was the singer had something to do with belinda carlisle.thanks, you are a genius, phew!
I probably ought to add before I start getting comments of the; "Why are you here if you don't like Then Jericho?" variety - or is it already too late for that?! - that I do really like this song and even went so far as buying the single. Imagine that! Personally feel this was by far their best track and that it deserved to get much higher in the charts than no. 31 or thereabouts. Yes, Mark Shaw was gorgeous but God didn't he know it!
hey I was at that gig at King Tuts! Brilliant band. Shame he was a prat. And to answer the person above, yup he shagged the life out of Carlisle but then I reckon most guys would have...not a bad looking couple tho...
@raspberrybaggio I have to start by saying that I am not a fan of U2 but that claim is just ridiculous. I remember Then Jericho receiving a hell of a lot of publicity when they 1st came on the scene - more than they deserved imho - and the fact that they never really made it, in their case, was down to the songs not being strong enough. So the truth is yeah, they could have been as big as U2 IF they'd had the songs! Which they didn't.
@eileend100 You may love looking at Mark Shaw but I'm sure you don't enjoy looking at Mark Shaw half as much as Mark Shaw did! That man must have gone through mirrors like other people go through traffic lights. Still that's the downside of beauty; it's only temporary.
@sunray1100 Well they can't complain that their relative lack of success was due to insufficient publicity or promotion, - unlike The Durutti Column or Talk Talk, circa Spirit of Eden/Laughing stock - so I can only conclude that the public heard them and just didn't understand what all the fuss was about. Admittedly the general public are appalling judges of quality but I think on this occasion maybe they got it right. I'd be very happy to be proved wrong. What tracks do you suggest I listen to?
Qué tiempos tan buenos eran muy buenos viva la buena música
Wow...Belinda at the chorus with this beautiful look. I love the song and the guitar...Ups, Belinda. Always Belinda.

Love Belinda's background vocals on this

used to play this all the time in '89. x
I had no idea berlinda did the backing for this song, and oh my god is it really nearly 20 years ago?!?!?!
Belinda carlisle ♥.♥
Thanx for this vid, haven't seen it in almost 20 years!

I loved Then Jerico-why can't we have the vid for The Motive?!! :D

Great duet, shoulda been a massive hit. They split up when they could have been huge. Still going now though.
Great song. Missed this one the first time round.
thank you for this. i spent hours looking for the name of the band because i forgot...all i remember was the singer had something to do with belinda carlisle.thanks, you are a genius, phew!

@MisAnnThorpe Oh God yes was Mark Shaw gorgeous. Too stunning for words. Be still my beating heart.....
awsome , cheerful tune
How was this not massive in the states? What up with that?
one of our missed opportunities - someone should have made this band enourmous
Bloody Billiant tune !

@guv859 yep you hit the nail on the head there , could have be like U2
@guv859
I see Mark Shaw around London now and again, he's a shadow of his former self these days. It's a shame, he could've been a huge star.
@dannyg21660 it was mark shaws fault that they didnt
great vid. thanx. anyone has the clip for "let her fall" from their debut album, first the sound of music?
@raspberrybaggio I have to start by saying that I am not a fan of U2 but that claim is just ridiculous. I can see why they wanted Belinda to do the background but the layered the song in such a way it's very hard to even tell it's her voice.
He did look like Morten Harket's brother :)
@guv859 Maybe the album should have been called "Big Ego"!
Б**********как я я с тобой солидарен!!!!
@MisAnnThorpe My God those mirrors were lucky......
@eileend100 Me too. And I did years ago.....!
I think I saw Mark Shaw in Putney 2 days ago (SW London) - looked quite ravaged by time which was sad.
Lucky he was a gifted singer and writer then, eh.
@eileend100 You may love looking at Mark Shaw but I'm sure you don't enjoy looking at Mark Shaw half as much as Mark Shaw did! That man must have gone through mirrors like other people go through traffic lights. Still that's the downside of beauty; it's only temporary.
I like Then Jerico but in this song i want to mute all the other voices and just listen to Belinda
He he he I always though the girl was Vanessa paradise .😬
@sunray1100 Well they can't complain that their relative lack of success was due to insufficient publicity or promotion, - unlike The Durutti Column or Talk Talk, circa Spirit of Eden/Laughing stock - so I can only conclude that the public heard them and just didn't understand what all the fuss was about. the album was brilliant. just a shame that ego boy fucked up what could have been an amazing band!!!
As bolivian diet you mean eat all you can eat, then throw up and starve for the rest of the week??. She had bulimia, told by herself.
