  • Alas Pilipinas U-18 open 22nd Princess Cup South East Asia Championship with dominant win over Singapore.
Alas Pilipinas U-18 bagged their first win in the 22nd Princess Cup Women’s U18 SEA Volleyball Championship in convincing fashion, after sweeping Singapore, 25-14, 25-6, 25-12, at Nakhon Pathom Gym in Thailand on Saturday, June 8.
The national team, bannered by the UST Girls Volleyball and NU Lady Bullpups, made quick work of Singapore as UST’s Kimberly Rubin, Lianne Penuliar, and Jaila Adrao proved to be too much.
After a dominant first set victory, the Taka Minowa-led Alas U-18 continued to pile on the pressure, limiting Singapore to just six points in the second.
Alas then cruised to another comfortable victory in the third to secure the victory.
Alas Pilipinas will look to grab back-to-back wins as they face Malaysia on Sunday afternoon.
