Says the tunes were amazing...... then changes his tuner lol
Because of shift flair
@@EddieLife3500 I know lol, I'm just messing with you bro. Your like me always looking for the new bigger better.
Always I need the best
@@EddieLife3500 hey have you tried CCS tunning
Nothing bad with trying something new! Also love the new banks i-dash looks wayy better
shift flare is usually caused by torque converter stall speed. 68rfe was ok except shift flare. then added more power. snap input shaft. new trans billet internals and low stall converter to get rid of shift flare
Eddie what exhaust do you have like get this truck to sound like truck but keep it legit epa garbage wise
I'm running 37's (2020 3500 with Carli pintop lift) with factory tune. Tows great, feels kind of wonky when not towing. Been wondering if it's just because of the tires, or something else. Seems like I'm not the only one with the problem. Looking forward to some custom tunes, although a bit concerned about voiding the warranty.
Awesome will be on the lookout for the additive video.
A guy I watch on CZcams has a Ram same size but the regular size diesel. He had trouble with the transmission it keep trying to change directions on itself. They finally had to replace the wiring going to it. They had to jack up his cab to do it, what they forgot to do re-tighten the bolts when they were done.
Looking forward to your diesel additive video
Could you get a tune for the 2005 duramax? And install it?
Shift flair happens on stock trucks as well. We have same truck besides color. But during the summer I have no flair but winter time in the 30's or less I would have it fro 2 to 3 and 3 to 4. I'm also deleted and does it every gear till warmed u. I also have tried numerous companies all have them some more than others. One I have now only does it 2to3 when really cold out. Might change trucks buy it's harder to tune/delete these trucks so 🤷🏼♂️. Good luck
Eddie, your pops been telling you since the beginning!
I say this allllll the time. CZcamsrs buy fords and rams because they need to fuck with them constantly. You don't have a reason to post vids if there's no drama. "I drove to the dunes and filled it with fuel and DEF and nothing happened" is a boring ass video. Followed up by "I rotated the tires and changed the oil" with 37 views.
Now you got me thinking Eddie... Let us know when you get your 5 position switch working again. I’ll hit Raj up..
Have to stick up for Mat here, I have his SOTF tunes on my 19 2500. Tunes and shifts are great, absolutely no complaints. Phone may not be the way to get ahold of him but he was very responsive through email working with me on tweaking the tunes (for my own needs).
Matt is a great guy still, and I have nothing against him
@@johnhuffman9970 Aisin or 68rfe? I'm still running his tunes, over 30k miles later. Absolutely no issues on my SO with the 68rfe.
also, he got a bunch of shout outs from Taylor ray when he built his fummins
I have a 21 and there is zero shift flare. I believe the TSBs Ram released has pretty much taken care of that. I was a little nervous going with the Aisin, but now Im absolutely glad I did. It shifts confidently and firm but not harsh. It shift into 2nd then you feel it lock up towards the top of the gear, then nice crisp shift all the way up to 6th. Beyond pleased.
It will not start to shift flare until you add more power to it
@@EddieLife3500 That makes more sense! I got the impression you hated the transmission in general. I have read that when you start throwing anything over 90hp the Aisin struggles to compensate due to not being able to be tuned.
It’s much better know that I found a new tuner but still nothing like the gm or Ford, the aisin is just a very lazy transmission, and I drove the 2021 and still feel the sluggish in the transmission, if I keep this truck I’m going to to just put an Alison in it
Who was the first company?
So you dont have the banks programmer anymore?
Shift flare can be solved by a converter change.
I had a 2012 dodge 2500 HO and no issues with the trans. With and without weight. Deleted and tuned threw H&S
I bet matt will be calling you back now lol
Raj lol thats my boy used to drink and hit the shows together was there when ridin high was born and watched when the og 06 was being born
Hi Eddy.
Really appreciate your videos as I'm In Australia and support for these trucks is limited here. What device do you recommend please to connect to the ECU for fault code monitoring and resetting please? I have Matt's tune in a 2020 3500 ho/aisen. It has a check engine light on it atm and shift flare is extremely bad. Otherwise drives well. Any help would be appreciated.
That’s why I stopped using matt, I use @rajkalkat tuning now
@@EddieLife3500 shortened my gear shifter, heaps nicer. Almost touches the door trim in standard length on the rhd.
Unfortunately with ram it’s a double edged sword with either trans. Personally I would have gotten a 68 and bought a built revmax worst case scenario
What Adams spray u got in the door of the Rammer?
Adams spray wax
I just had an issue with mat last night, ordered a file for a customers truck, called to verify id have the file last night, and they sent it missing a couple serial numbers, called back, said they'd take care of it, never did, so I ended up purchasing a file else where, and now awaiting a refund from them hopefuly.
Sounds like you're talking about the de-fueling between shifts. It's super annoying but from what I've read its necessary if you want to keep the transmission alive.
Yes very annoying
Yup, it's called torque management.
Customer service is the number one reason why people change tuners/shops. Call and no answer is a big issue when your having a problem.
“Well” someone should make a TUNE that will work once you activate the (Tow/Haul) Mode shifts like butter... 🤔 then once out of it T/H run similar too 68rfe spec out tune shifting...
I have the shifting problems as well.. 2014 Laramie longhorn with Kory Willis tunes... and then 5th to 6th is forever
Dm @rajkalkat he will send you new tunes
My 68rfe was bad with shift flare. I fixed the problem by trading it for a F-250, shift flare is gone and it drives and shifts like a sport truck in my opinion.
I've been considering looking more into the new Fords. I love the Cummins engine, but I am quickly beginning to like the Fords more and more. What else do you like about the Ford?
68rfe is trash. 150k if you're lucky. It's designed to fail
How do you smog your truck when it’s straight piped?
You don’t haha
Eddie do you have an email for Raj you can pass along to me since I don’t really do social media trying to figure out how to get in contact with him. Thanks!
I'm running Matt's tunes on my 18 2500 with the 68rfe trans tuning and it pulls hard and shifts hard with no lag between.
Wish I could say the same with his tunes. Really not all that happy with what my truck does now.
@@calsam4112 what does it do now?
@@01tangodown Horrible shift flare and random dead spots in the throttle. I've since just switched to the tow tune and it minimized the shifting issues and have not noticed the dead spots anymore. I've reached out to Matt and haven't heard back.
@@calsam4112 man sorry to hear that, seems like the quality control isn't there. I'm sure it's because Matt wasn't prepared for the amount new business he received. It's hard to find good tunes these days either way.
@@calsam4112 Hey Cal Sam, what Truck are you running? That sounds interesting, what you have written a year ago ;D I have a 6.7 Cummins 07.5 with the csp5 Switch from optimal welding. the dead spots (I think) are coming from railpressure peaks -> fuel pressure Relief valve opens. That is my theory. 120hp and 180hp tune has the issue. With the 75hp tune it is working. Regards!
The dealer just released an update for the transmission a couple months ago
Eddie since you brought up customer service did you ever find a new bed cover from the bak?
No they still suck

I had a issue with my truck after dodge decided to reflash my truck for a emissions campaign. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones, Called Matt and he helped me out quick 💯
What windshield tint percentage do you run
50%
I don't believe the Aisin trans can be tuned. I believe you are feeling the torque converter unlocking prior to a shift. There will be an increase in RPMs followed by two drops in RPMs as the gear changes then the converter locks back up. Maybe a reduction in torque from the engine will reduce how noticeable the 'flare' is, but that's about it.
I think Eddie's selling out .. his video makes no sense regarding Aisin tuning.
Then try to find some one to tune it please
I’m guessing frank is new to the diesel world
Firepunk was the go too for tuning the aisin but they just pulled all their tuning down off website

Button by the fog light.
Hey, what diesel additives do you use on your trucks? And what would you recommend me for my 2013 lml denali?
Get in a lml group somewhere and see what everyone else is doing, or find someone who is using the truck day in and day out pulling, hauling, towing etc. I believe Hotshot Secrets makes additives and Greg A on CZcams recommends Amsoil products.... I mean I've seen some folks change oil and put a quart of that oil in the fuel...

I have a 2019 68rfe and was worried at first. I have not had a single problem out of it. They changed it with the 4.5/5 gen trucks. I can’t speak for the 4th gens.

How tight is your hat?
I wonder how AEV tunes those trucks running on 41s.
I'm sure they just regear them and use their procal to change the tire size, axle ratio, and speedo
Eddie. Use your connections to find a way to tune the Aisin.
Man trust me I am really trying
@@EddieLife3500
Anything is possible with it. I just think nobody has really put the effort in because of the volume of Aisin vs 68rfe in the Rams out there.
I would buy into it even if they made a whole new TCM to replace the oem TCM.
That’s the downfall of the Aisin… it can’t be tuned… getting my 17’ Rammer deleted and tuned as I right this
Eddie, what were your shift flare RPMs on your truck with Matts tunes?
It varied depending on how much throttle I give
That’s it! I’m buying a class A motor home!
Its your gearing.. you have oversized tires .. thats why your transmission is acting like it jumping into Neutral when its shifting its not geared to run bigger tires than what was originally engineered to run u will have to regear it or go back to the stock tires
Ya, Mat has some issues calling people back. He's a really bright mechanical mind he needs to hire a customer service rep to get on his calls and email responses.
Huh,thought you went with banks
Whos tunes are best for the LBZ Duramax? Strictly a towing rig

So we are currently trying to load Matt’s tunes with zero luck. 22 Ram 2500 6.7. Got the donor ecu, we have read both ecu’s. Optimal was building tunes and we can’t install the tunes. Talked to rev max, guy basically said aisin has inherent mechanical flaws, they can only make them bullet proof they said they won't (not can't) tune them because it's a conflict of interest. Whoever deciphers the code for those transmissions and puts a really good tune out there coupled with a new rev Max transmission that's the golden ticket.

Hi Eddy , I have decided to sell my 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 which is a sweet ride with the 6.2 Liter motor in it, it is a pleasure to drive but we have recently bought a camper, the GMC pulls the camper fine but the wind turbulence at 65-70 mph is a bit to much and also I have had my truck back to the dealer 3 times now due to the GM shuddering issue, all they have done is change the transmission fluid so I am ready to let this ride go, now ! Lol I said all that to get to this, I don’t really want to support GM anymore so I had decided to go to the Ram 2500 but listening to all this shift flatulence (lol) I don’t know if I want to make the switch or not ? Is the 68rfe trans junk ? Does it shift awkwardly ? I like some throttle response when I mash the peddle lol would you help me out here a little ?
The honest truth which even one you get ram GM ford they will all do the job brotha
The 68RFE really isn't a bad transmission like people make it out to be. People beat the shit out of their stuff and break it and then complain about it and put it down, just like with anything in the world. The 68 can serve you well, and it can be tuned for better performance too. Just be respectful to it and it will perform and get the job done for you. If you want to build the engine up and beat the truck, the building the trans is part of that equation too, and that goes for Chevy/GM, Ford, or Ram trucks. I think you would enjoy the Cummins platform with the proper mods done to it.
pure panoRAMa Thanks for the comment, I have done a little more research and have found a lot of the same info you are speaking of, I don’t know that I will be doing any tuning or not but it sounds like if I do a mild tuning and just driving the truck without jerking it around it would be ok
Eddie's Life Thanks Eddie
@@phillipperkins6230 if you're going to leave it fairly stock, working the truck and giving it proper maintenance will give you a good experience. You can always upgrade the valve body in the 68rfe for a little extra peace of mind too. No I did not but I will check them out
Don't have any problems with Motor ops so far. Brothers tuned stock trans lly drive perfect without to much smoke. My built trans lb7 work truck runs fine just a little tooooo smokey on tune 5 but drives crazy smooth
I had Mat’s tune from optimal. Engine ran excellent. Actually better than my current tune from Hardway. That said Mat’s tune destroyed two transmissions within a couple hundred miles. He’s got a quirk in his 68 tuning and he’s oblivious to it and doesn’t care. Love my new tune from Hardway. It runs good just seems to be a little rougher than Mat’s engine tuning. Transmission works perfectly with Hardway tune though
What happened with your transmission? I have Matt’s tunes and a 68. You’ve got me worried
Adaptive learning and incorrect gear ratios is going to affect your transmission especially if you have a tune in these trucks ... switching from one tune to another is going to influence how much adaptive learning takes place ..... doing a trans relearn will also help ...
If you also have a throttle control system like Pedal Commander or Banks Pedal Monster, you are going to introduce more shift flare than normal especially since you do not have the correct gears for the large tires and to tow with larger tires ...
Come on Eddy, are you not a mechanic Bro ? Everyone knows since the Aisin Seiki AS69RC six speed automatic transmission came out back in 2013 that tuners, throttle control systems and wrong gears causes shift flare man!
Known raj for years he lives in the same town as me, I gave him his first ride in a diesel in my drag truck one night (not like a pro street truck or anything, just a 500 hp 3rd gen I competed with a bunch) in 2005 it hooked him on the spot... He then bought his 06 (baby prime) then after that is when him and his brother took their builds to huge levels. I know who he uses for tunes, im not a fan but to each his own.
Im running RR on my 2020, its still in beta for the 5th gen rams. NO ADDITIONAL POWER YET. Their tunes are always perfect before they release them. The MM3 is light years ahead of any other display out there IMO.
The Aisin is a tough trans in stock form, power it doesnt like PERIOD! It cant be tuned which is its biggest downfall.
ive ran built 68's in the past. They arent perfect but unlike the Aisin, they are fixable! Getting ready to do my 2020 68 but there are changes within them that are taking a bit longer. If any trans builder of a 2019 and up 68 doesnt say PI curve programming along with a relearn then dont have them touch your trans.
