    I've been using the Cali Raised ditch brackets for five or six years now, they're great.
    Instructions are dummy-proof, installation is basically fire-and-forget.

    Exactly what I was looking for. I’ve only had the Cali Raised ditch lights for a few weeks but the output isn’t as great as I thought it’d be. So I wanted to know if another brand would fit into the low profile brackets. So thank you so much!

    I needed the one part you didnt film lmao so i have everything installed, and like you Im running a switch panel very similar to yours. What did you cut in order to expose the + and - in order to connect to your switch circuit?

      Ditch light point "Out" so the hood glare is minimal.

      Not at all, as they are fairly low on the hood. After about a day of driving, I barely notice them anymore. Also, I'm 6'1" and sit up fairly tall in the truck.

    what wire harness did you use that doesn’t have a relay and switch attached?

    • @GearheadJT
      @GearheadJT  Před 3 lety +1

      I used the Baja designs Harness and just cut the harness at the relay, you don't need to run the relay with the Switch Panel.

  • @oldmanhare
    @oldmanhare Před 3 lety +1

    Thanks for the vid. I am about to do the same install and I have the same style switch panel as you already installed. I am planning to wire them individually to the panel so I can run them individually or together. Do you think there is enough wires in the provided kit to run both lights to the panel with the provided harness So I can keep the factory connectors on the pods?

    • @GearheadJT
      @GearheadJT  Před 3 lety +1

      Sorry for the delayed response, yes, there is going to be enough wires and you will be wire them individually!

    • @oldmanhare
      @oldmanhare Před 3 lety

      @Beto71 hdz perfect. There was more than enough wiring to have each light wired to individual circuits on the switch panel. Now I can light up either side on command. It is nice when looking for animals or house numbers on the passenger side without blinding oncoming traffic.

    • @oldmanhare
      @oldmanhare Před 3 lety

      @Beto71 hdz I like very neat wiring, so the way I have it ran, I was able to run each light using parts of the harness. So yes, I cut the harness wires right at the point each lead entered the bottom of the Auxbeam switch panel which is mounted just above the stock fuse box. Each light is then connected to its own lead using the provided waterproof connectors from the light kit. Long answer, but yes, I cut up the provided harness...lol

    • @kriscarnage753
      @kriscarnage753 Před 2 lety

      @@oldmanhare hey man kinda new to this wiring stuff, the wiring harness that came with the lights you cut them off at the relay? Since you have 4 connections wired at the relay how do you wire them when you cut them at that point? Thanks man!

    • @oldmanhare
      @oldmanhare Před 2 lety

      @@kriscarnage753 So, I wired mine individually to an Auxbeam switch panel i have installed under the hood. The switch panel has a positive and negative for each item to be switched (8 positive and negative outputs). If you want to run both lights on one switch, you can simply twist the 2 positive wires from each LED together and then screw them down to the positive and the same for the negative. You could also connect the two positive wires to a single extension wire and then run that wire to your switch...and the same with the negative wires. But on mine the left pos and neg go to the pos and neg on port 6 on my switch, and the pos and neg of the right light go to the pos and neg output of port 5 on my switch. If you don't have a switch (like the Auxbeam 8 port panel or a Switchpros panel), then keep the harness in one piece and use the relay.
