  • The full restoration of the forgotten 1959 Vw Beetle continues! I found this old car sitting in a garage back in 2019. It had been stashed away since 1994 waiting for a full restoration. Larry and I pulled this Volkswagen Beetle from it's soon to be grave, a crumbled garage and Larry brought it home. Follow along on the journey of the restoration videos as this car will be 100 % restored by Larry.

Hi Joe, thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it. That was some spammer , I had them removed from my channel and hopefully from YT. More on the 59 and Larry to come !

Larry obviously knows his stuff - what a craftsman. I was worried about the lack of safety gear though - no goggles or gloves with all those sparks flying up at him, and welding with no mask on!! Man that's a serious no-no!! Still, he isn't blind yet, obviously :-)
So much of that repair panel was cut away and discarded, he could've just used a piece of flat steel with a step along one edge!
Great tips and advice in this video though - the trick with back-lighting to find the pin-holes is a great thing to know!!

The panel has some contour to it ( more than just adding a simple step for fab ) and it's only 30 bucks, not worth the time to fab one. Good to hear you picked up a tip and yes, wear your safety gear👍

Hi, it's absolutely exciting to see an excellent professional in action, but if you congratulate him, he will tell you modestly that it's normal, it's his job. I'm a subscriber and I watch all these excellent videos avidly which teach me a lot. Always difficult for me, the French translation being broken at YT (and all the other languages). Even if it's a way to perfect your American English, despite everything, it's not easy.
