QUESTION: what is best translation of Augustines book, de Trinitate! Most orthodox, reliable, trusted translation?

Read the Bible and read JESUS's warnings in Mark 7 about relying on the doctrines of men and HIS words about how to know Truth in John 14:26 & 16:13.
(If you're CHRISTian, you will do this).

@@leenieledejo6849dude, dont be ridiculous. You protestants just rely on your own interpretations and what pastor Jeff from Pizza Hut church tells you. The Bible itself is a text that needs interpreting, so your argument is idiotic

Why is any authority given to the decisions of this church?
As an ex jw. We were basically Ariius followers
And to be honest that Is what I see scripturally
I can however, see that I could. Be wrong. But so can the councils that have occurred I mean no one really knows what God actually is can we actually admit that? Augustine does not know nobody today knows we’re just going off of the Scriptures hopefully to start with and they are ambiguous to this, as far as if Jesus was God or not, etc.
I do not understand why, for example, in the council of Nicaea, just because they came to that conclusion, you accept that? It’s just men coming to a conclusion there is no way to prove it either way it’s always been a strange thing for me to watch Catholics do this

You clearly dont hold the Holy Spirit in high regard then. Nor Jesus' words, when he told Peter the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church. The truth is, Jesus did not leave us the Bible, he left us his Church, and his teachings, which he passed down to the apostles. The apostles then passed it down to their own disciples, who were the Bishops of the Church. And it is the bishops who participated in ecumenical councils. Oh, and dont forget that the Bible canon was literally determined at an ecumenical council

And also, there were only a couple of bishops supporting Arius at Nicea, so if the bishops were almost unanimous about Arius being wrong, that likely suggests Arius was wrong
