right handed people: *exist*
left handed people: *pay 10 BP THEN exist*
Damn. I feel so unappreciated
Being left handed is a pay to win experience
@@floorpanel8749 Having an Ursaring and knowing where Mitch's dorm room is? That's a "Gimme my shit for free" experience.
🤣
Best part is it doesn’t change the animations when you throw a ball to catch a wild pokemon, those are all still right-handed default animations
So you can pay to be left-handed *sometimes*
Using smug style to throw out Ogerpon against Kieran felt so powerful
the litlle extra salt to the cut
I was doing a blind nuzlocke with this style and man I could feel the salt being poured into his wounds as I pulled out ogerpon after he started talking smack because he killed turkey my corvinight who was an OG member who survived the base game
@@melonstorm5824 RIP Turkey who was a very good pokemon
That was the style I had when I fought Kieran with Ogerpon on the team. It’s one thing facing him with a Ogerpon, but I never thought of it being a dick move with the style till after. Sorry Kieran 😅
Better was using a level 70 or so team for everyone else. But for him switching back to my maxed level 100 team remind him why Ogerpon chose me
Charging you 10 BP each time you want to change it and they don’t even let you see what each one does until you’ve already picked it. What’s that, don’t like it? Cough up more BP, Brokie 💀
There's a lot of complaining in this community about stupid things atleast they added different styles...
Save, check out all the styles you can with the bp you have. Quit the game and pick your favorite
@@KhalylStewardIt's a legit criticism. You don't know what a style looks like, sk you have to spend BP to obtain it. If you don't like it you have to spend more BP until you find a style you like. If you're unlucky, you could easily spend more than 50 BP to land on a style that you want. This could be simply avoided by having a preview menu, which many games have.
I can even give the throwing styles a fair shake for just having to put in the extra effort to put in the animations, but I don't understand why they can't have previews for the club room themes. A picture preview of each theme wouldn't be that hard to implement.
>_> . . . Sigh. Respect to ya for being honest, I am a fair bit broke. That said...
*Grabs Mightyena, Pyroar, Zebstrika and a Mewtwo, for good measure* I ain't lettin' your ass walk away after calling me "Brokie".
@@zjuraeventide8949 it's much less this one complaint (which is fair with that explanation) but more so them complaining about everything. People complained about the animations taking to long and when they changed it they complained about the animations looking bad / not as good as they did before... Stuff like that annoys me
I love how Elegant Style is basically Larry, truly an elegant man
The elegant style actually makes me think of Ash since that is sometimes how he throws his poke balls.
Smug is so amazing. Really got the gen-1 rival feel. That said, I wish they'd kept the nihilist/Giovanni style where you just dispassionately throw pokeballs underhand.
That was the best one
For some reason it just makes you feel like the bad guy when you throw them like that, y'know? I want to face enemy trainers with my edgy team and strike fear into them
@@michaeladams6124 Hell yeah, or at least like you've got some master plan and aren't at all fussed about the enemy...
Now I want to see some enterprising weebo animate Kaiba throwing a Pokeball in the smug style.
He is the real Gen 1 rival.
So glad they brought this back, it's a really fun touch for trainer customization. That said, kinda horribly executed. You can't access it till the final dlc, meaning you've already gone most of the game without this form of customization. You don't get to preview it before you change it, and it charges you every time you do it. It's kinda dumb.
That said, hope they keep it. Really fun, just need to be able to access it earlier. Personally, i think you should have some base options right off the bat, then you can unlock more from different NPCs, or as bonus rewards for beating gyms and stuff. That'd be fun ^^
Definitely something that must stick around in future games. Poor gen 8 got completely left out of it before it made a return in a...Problematic sense. Should've been made an early unlock instead of being right at the end of the game in the final DLC. Not to mention unlocking more as time goes on from trainers you defeat. Then the charging as well as no preview until afterwards. It's already 12000 for the starters to spawn and with getting around 20-150 per BBQ, that 10 can be quite a lot possibly wasted. This feature should be added to the same menu we customise our look. Maybe a seperate menu to customise throw and battle stance.
@@Fenyxclips I agree that not getting a preview of how it looks is dumb, but if you really want to save bp just save before changing styles, cause then if you don’t like it you can close the game and start it back up to where it’s before the bp is spent. Also definitely should have been a base game thing.
Spittin. It’d be cool to see Gym Leaders and the like have special throw animations, and upon beating them you can copy their style.
Rika for example. I wanna do that goofy twirl too lmao.
It was post game in gen 7 too
I think this is a very unfortunate result of the DLC being used to release features that may have been planned in the beginning, but never made the cut for the original release.
I actually feel its such a subtle thing no one notices. But how you throw out pokemon balls is actually one of the most important things about the pokemon games. It shows a trainers personality, It gives them more style, it makes each trainer unique.
It's something I noticed from the anime. And I can't believe its taken till now to be able to change it. Very cool.
You could change it in Gen 7.
I'm SO thankful that the Galarian Star one exists, I love whenever I battle Hop and Leon because of it 😭😭
YEAH same
"Galarian style" 👀
I see they hop to it on that one.
Nyuk nyuk nyuk
I like how this extends to how you catch Pokémon too.
My character caught a Pokémon with the smug style and it just gives off a “I can do this with my eyes closed” vibe. It was even better because I got a critical catch
I have the Galarian style on and got a crit catch on a shellder that was below me. It looked like I shot the ball out of a rocket. I SHATTERED that clam 😂😂
id have loved it if they made the keiran one where you shout and then throw
Or the AI Professor one
yesssss
Omg that would be the crazy actually
I do the smug style
Imagine the gladion throw
The Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon ones are still superior, but this is still nice!
I love the one in Generation 7 where you do a FULL HOP SPIN IN THE AIR and throw out your Pokemon!!
Plus the throws back then actually referenced some pokemon trainers
Smug Style is a delight tho.
So cool they brought this feature back
Or the Steven throw. 😆
you can change throwing style in SwSh???
Only complaints I have are that 1) They don't alter your static pose, just the throws, would be nice to have an alternate stance based on the throw, like they did in USUM. 2) More options to choose from, especially as you progressed, or getting styles from the people you invited into the club, like we initially thought was the case. And 3) Having the ability to set this earlier in the game, since you're stuck with the basic throw until you complete the entire game and first DLC before even being able to get the ability to change throwing style. Like, it's great they added a lot of this new stuff in, but you're spending 90% of the game without it, especially for the new evos. Like, I was hoping to have a playthrough with the new Applin evos, but I can't do that because while I can get Applin and Dipplin really early on (Kitakami unlocks with the start of the Treasure Hunt and you can catch an Applin in the first area, and get the evo item for Dipplin nearby as well) You're stuck with Dipplin all throughout the main game and Kitakami, and through BB Academy, until you beat Drayden and get the Dragon Cheer TM, then you can finally evolve Dipplin into Hydrapple.
Yeah, the trailers totally made it look like you’d get reverent style from Iono
I wish i could still throw like Giovanni
@@thetreyceratops2242Ikr? Also made me think we could bring in our other friends, like Nemona, Penny, and Arvin. Don't get me wrong, I love Carmine and Kieran, and I love the story with them, but I would have loved to see more of the original friend group as well.
But if they did have this throw picker thing early in the game they would just do like USUM and have there be stupid unlocks.. like I wasn't planning on doing Battle Tree or Battle Royal but for completionist sake I now have to do stuff I don't want to do.. (side note.. it was stupid they locked essentially all of them via random post game battles, like screw you for being left handed I guess.. only one's not "post game" are the initial starting one, elegant style via just talking to the person, and... smug for beating Gladion before E4... like I'd totally be like "yeah right before seeing credits I am going to go back and change my style")
@@AzureKylethe new up coming event will have both friend groups meet each other
I love how almost all of them are just taken from other characters (Galarian star is obvious, but reverent style is the same as Iono, twirling style is the same as Ortega, etc…)
Yeah but i like throw pokeball like Leon
Missed opportunity to give us the rika's throwing animation
@@robertourdaneta2339 I would be absolutely feral for Rika's style, but I guess I have to settle for Twirling
Imagine if they gave us Volo’s throwing animation.
Would make no sense lore-wise, maybe give it to those who completed PLA.
@@robertourdaneta2339 THIS
I love the smug and ninja style
They are the best ones
Same.😂
The smug one seems like something Gary/Blue would use
YOU GUYS EXCITED FOR THE NEW DLC?
What about elegant style is elegant? It looks more awkward to me, especially the leg swing part
Right? I'm sittin here like 'thats how i throw irl' and nothin about me is elegant haha.
Larry, the normal gym leader, throws it like this, and he’s a very elegant guy
@@danpan7695 i find no fault in your logic.
@@danpan7695I believe Clavell does it like that, too.
Don't know why they went with elegant. They should have called it the sidewinder style since that's literally what that form is called in baseball terms
Thanks for showing what it looks like when fighting someone online
I'm glad they brought throwing styles back. I like being able to throw my Pokeballs left-handed, it feels more like me.
Paying BP to be left handed is crazy
Ninja Style is great for serious battles, but Smug Style is great for everything else.
The smug one is so cool im never changing it😂
This is the most helpful and free of fluff video I’ve seen in a while ❤
Ninja is straight and to the point. Love it.
0:59
Yeah
Very ellegant
I dig the stance change after the ninja throw
You should be able to make all the styles left handed imo
Ikr I feel like there should be a settings option it’s kinda forcing you to be right handed
"elegant"
Is it weird that the elegant style reminds me more of how Ash sometimes throws his Poke balls? Because that feels like something he do.
The Galarian, smug style and Ninja style for me
Just before the Indigo Disc released I was wondering why they didn’t keep the different styles from Gen 7 onwards. It’s great to see that they were brought back.
Galarian Star's actually how I imagine myself throwing a pokeball ,so I'm using that
RIGHT? lol it was either that or smug when i send out my EV trained annilape everytime lol
I immediately set mine to the smug style and I have no plans on changing it anytime soon
0:37 ah yes..the twink toss
The WHAT
Don’t ever call me a twink again you two cups water one cup rice *fool* (-me, who uses the Dainty style because it slightly reminds me of the default throw from SM)
💀
@@thequagiestsire twink
Their definition of “Elegant” is very different from mine
As a lefty, I kinda wish we had a left handed Blueberry glove for me to keep the style at least in Blueberry uniform
I’ve always wanted them to add this. I was kinda hoping for one where you throw the ball in the air and catch it then throw it out but the smug style is also super cool
This was needed. Thank you
Tbh it would be cooler if you unlocked them.
Eg. you beat the trainer that does it on hard mode and you get the throw.
It also means you have another reason to rechallenge gym leaders, gang leaders, elite four, etc... And it can be reused for later games and remakes.
Especially if you can change your battle intro pose. I'd definitely pick the red and blue brock crossed arms pose and follow with a trainer blue throw.
Thank you so much for making this video. I did not feel like going through each option myself ^^;;
Showing it at so many angles and having to set up online battles just to show Pokéball throwing styles?!! You can tell that a lot of effort was put into making this!!
Took us like 3 generations to see this come back...
Smug and Galar Star are probably my favorites
I miss old smug style from SM. If twirling style was the throw without the spin I'd have that locked in. Going to get Galarian Star this time.
Was hoping for a giovanni throwing style like the one in ultra sun/moon but at least smug is pretty funny
Thank you for making this 👍
Once I saw the Galarian Star throwing style, I immediately switched to it and never looked back. I love SwSh, and seeing that the throwing style was based on how Leon threw his Poke Balls made me so happy.
Especially with the Charizard Pose being an emote in this game.
Oh, I thought that was a reference to Hop.
@@Eclipse_101both hop and leon do it
When I saw 'twirling style', I was kind of hoping for the Protagonist from Pokémon Colosseum's snag machine throw.
...Then I remembered that Game Freak essentially treats those games as something they don't talk about.
wishing all throwing styles left handed variants, I would use a left handed smug throw all the time
As a lefty, I cannot describe the serotonin I get from the left handed throw 🥹
Thank you for posting!
I chose the smug style and I love it
Interesting concept in a video game! I like it!
They really put footage of Hop and Leon throwing out their Pokémon like we wouldn't notice.
Really as much as crazy weird people may want to hate on these: this for me is the 'New Nostalgia'. Yes, quite a few parts of the game was rushed, but this array of tosses adds that 'small' but so so important Style and detail that make you care that little bit more. Love it! 😎
I love how elegant style is the least elegant style
I'm happy as a left handed person to finally be able to throw with the correct arm
You gotta love how two poke balls are thrown when there was originally only one pokeball in his hand.
So disappointing Cynthia's throw from the anime is not here
thats so specific to put in lol
@@Am-le2ci IK but it's such a fun throw lol just throw the ball high up in the sky. It's fun.
Thanks for that. Using Ninja right now but I liked the look of Smug. Might have to change it up.
Bless you for sacrificing your BP to make this video.
I wish we had the Battle Tower. Could have easily given us something similar at the school entrance reception area or Central Plaza.
i like how the "elegant" one is the most awkward one. yeah how elegant, swinging my leg out like that for no reason
(edit: typo)
As a left-handed thrower, I kinda wished they had the other styles allowed for lefties as well.
Left handed representation!!!! Let’s goooo!!!
Wish there was a Wes style from when Wes threw a Snag Ball in pokemon Colosseum.
Cool stuff.
The Galarian Star is Leon's throwing animation!
Thank you so much.
Probably gonna use either Elegant or Ninja
I just wanted the left-handed style because I’m left-handed in real life.
I’m a bit upset that it took Game Freak over a year to make it possible in Scarlet and Violet (and then proceeded to lock it behind an approximately $35 paywall) when Sun and Moon had the decency to make it base game to change throwing styles, but the rest of the DLC, including getting starter Pokémon and Legendaries/Mythicals, is WORTH the hoops we had to jump.
Same here but I rather wanted a cutesy style. I think it would be better to have all styles with left or right hand. Would be much better for lefties like us
Yeah yeah, very worth it...
If that twirl style spins 3 more times it looks like that throw style in crush gear but in reverse. And that dainty style looks like a gentleman's throw.
The Galar one made me so happy!! I loved Shield!!
Would be cool if that was an early feature early game in future titles
They could have added Gordie's throwing style though.
They can make me throw like Leon as well as Charizard pose like him
10/10 I love this game.
dude i swear to god before the dlc came out i thought about having custom animations like throwing and when using the teracrystal
i’m a very cocky and confident person so when i saw smug style it was music to my ears
Gonna have to get an animation of the trainer beaning their opponent in the head with that Galarian Star style.
Still kinda upset that they didn't add the Nihilist one from USUM...
Ortega's throwing style my beloved
I gotta have a champion time!
So who else has Galarian Star Style equipped?
The fact that this was customizing throwing animation is behind a DLC paywall 🎎
Just noticed the Pokestar studios (hopefully I didn’t mess up the name)mech tyranitar reference, definitely a cool Easter egg
Twirl style my beloved :3
I’m definitely gonna use the Galarian style.
Really glad these are in the game, I just wish I could throw a Pokeball like Volo
I chose Galarian Star because of 1 particular thing: I beat Sword and all DLCs with complete Pokedex. Also, that throwing style represents the Postwick Brothers: Leon and Hop, both using the same style.
That's why I like Galar so much.
Blue would totally throw out his Pokémon in smug style😂
*Twirling style*: "... crap, I threw them behind me!" D:
Smug has so much personality omg
My personal favourites are smug, twirl and glaring star style
Smug Style my beloved
Dainty Style my beloved
the style i wanted is that extravagant 360 twirl then throw from the Tera Raid catching animation
how do you get the others?
absolutely wild that left handed is one style, as a leftie i wanna do a left handed smug style :(
Now if only we had actual cosmetic choices to theme our outfits around said styles.
Thank you! Great help! A bummer that you only have text references in the game..with no preview animations..in 2023!!
The elegant style is everything but elegant especially the right leg of the character. I'm using it tho.
