And sleeping in bedrooms of complete strangers? I wished I could travel like that from the bottom of my heart. But my guts tell me that it's too dangerous.
You need to show you can support yourself in an emergency. You don't have to actually USE the money. This was a voluntary act to go without money, not something he was forced into doing.
