I own the same car with same engine.. I know everyone wants a clean car but there is something so satisfying about pre facelift "rough" look like this 😁
Btw with turbo you can push this engine up to 400hp reliably on stock internals

Haha yeah man! I feel like it's because you're less afraid to drive it harder and not worried about damaging a lip or something 😂 or you see the potential of what it can become. But yup! Turbo would be the way to go whenever I think I need more power!

Damn my $300 e30 sedan sounds just like the one at the beginning(Sammy’s). I thought the motor was hurt but if you guys said it’s ok Ile probably just sell my mini truck I was building to boost and boost the e30 I fell in love with. New sub!
Hahah yeah the M20 motors are known to have a "sewing machine" type ticking noise. A valve adjustment will help reduce the noise but it normally still lingers. And that's dope man! Thank you for subbing as well 😁🤙

Tight video. Relate to the "common swap but feels good to own" feeling. Good tools to invest in is a coolant pressure tester. Pressurizes the system so you can find leaks that you wouldn't see when running. Btw what song was that when you were over heating. Sounds familiar but i cant come up with the name.

The Sammy e30 engine sounds actually very bad. I think it is not only the valves, but connecting rods or crank gone. Already told I am a new subscriber. I asked about the balljoibt separator. Only halfway the video, will continue watching.
How exactly do you get the master cylinder out? Do you need to block oil lines in order to prevent oil spillage?

I have a '84 E30 with M50B25 No Vanos swap, I'm still finishing it. 😁 Cool swap for low price as you said.
Sick! Definitely worth if you've got an m10 or even an m20b27 in my opinion 😌
@@derkm Before doing the swap I turbo the M10 and stroke the m10 to 2 liters (originally 1.8) and it was running sick, after a month or so the cylinder head blew up and here I am finishing this beast.

@@derkm I felt much more power from that turboed M10 than the M50 (stock) but I find more reliable the M50, I'm collecting the parts for the turbo M50.

We did a quick valve adjustment on it and it sounds better but it can probably be a little bit better 😅

Ahh I feel it man! Takes patience and you gotta be constantly looking on Craigslist and Facebook everyday since the good deals normally get scooped up super fast. This car might be for sale soon if you're interested though!
Since M50’s are getting terribly expensive here, I’m thinking of swapping an M52B28 in my E30. What are your thoughts about that engine?
I would totally do an m52b28! I just would get one with single vanos so that you can swap it in and keep it obd1 and not need to do obd2.

Is your car swapped? Pin 20 of the c101 needs 12v for the abs to have power.

Bro how did u connect the wiring loom
I cut the e36 m50 wiring harness connector off and spliced in an e30 m20 wiring harness connector (c101 plug) so that it connected to the e30 chassis wiring harness. Lots of diagrams online and its alot easier once you have the wires in front of you 😁

I found them on Craigslist but I believe you can still get them new online! They're called Borbet Type A's 👍👍

On the turbo e30, I'm running a kdfi ecu which is a clone of the megasquirt v2 ecu

I've been told it was an m50b25tu which is just the m50 with single vanos. It came out of a buddy's e30 but I guess it could be wrong o; pretty sure it's an m50 tho
@@derkm looks like a regular m50b25 out of a 94 and under e36, with an s52 oil filter housing
It is an M50 you can say by just seeing the engine valve cover..
