    Desperately proving a religion scientific means that people are losing faith over that religion, so one tries to fit science in a particular "faith" to make it sound modern. Unfortunately, this is the case of India.

      Sorry, can't talk of other religion but in this land science and religion always coexisted with eachother. There is a reason why our land was called devabomi - the land of knowledge. I often see people telling science made us think logically. If not all, the science which was already discovered as a part ancient science was supposed to be rediscovered by the modern science and who knows there are more which are written in Sanskrit which are yet to be decoded from the scripts. Not all great things which are known to the world are discovered by Indians but all great things which are discovered by Indians are not known to the world.

    Why these creaters are trying to combine religion and science... I am always fascinated by our ancient Indian scripters. That doesn't mean I
    should believe every thing written... I like the fact they were able to think so deeply about so many things.. I practice my rituals because it connects me to my roots, to my culture... it doesn't mean I can't Question it...and modify it if necessary.. because that is our tradition.... Respected Pranav,
    I am one of the rare visitors to your CZcams channel. I will be very much obliged to know that you carefully went through this message upto the conclusion, and apprehended my words.
    In this video you exemplified a video from the channel Hyper Quest, and tried to explain how the claims from that content creator about Vedas to be scientific is kind of a hoax. Your basic arguments were,
    » The failed theory of Big Crunch
    » The liberal interpretations of verses
    » The oversimplified descriptions
    First let me inform you that I am a theist, and you can rely on my words to be “slang free".
    First of all, the theory of a Big Crunch is a failed theory indeed. And the Vedas, especially the Rigveda states that the world operates in cyclic order. Now, if the Big Crunch theory doesn't go with this, then it can be believed that the cycle in Vedas refers to the cycles of life & death, or rise and demolition of civilizations rather than a universal cycle.
    And some of the philosophies describe the origin of the universe as non-cyclic as well. Some say the universe is one of the bubbles in the multiversal ocean. Some say it's made up of two pre-existing components. Some of them state that a universe dies and gives birth to a daughter universe, and according to some it is just what it is, forever existing. These are just some hypotheses, all had the same preciousness, and none of them were like “this is the only truth”. They were flexible.
    Also, the verses, both of you are onto, are from the part of the Rigveda named “Nasadiya Sukta". And I think at least verses from that part don't deserve the adjectives “mystical aspect" or “divine creation" etc. Because the “Nasadiya Sukta" later itself asks the reader
    “Who created the world?”
    “Is there a creator at all?”
    It literally doubts the existence of God.
    Well, let's move on.
    You quoted the part where he says “Sat” means existent and “Asat” the opposite, and argued back that it's a liberal interpretation. According to you, Sat and Asat as per “Asatō Mā Sadagamayaṁ" (in the movie Matrix) probably mean honesty (or knowledge) and dishonesty. It made me real upset. After all, an irrelevant Hollywood movie caption cannot be an authentic translation of an Indian or Sanskrit phrase. What would it cost to Google it?
    Sat literally means existence, reality, truth. And Asat the opposite. And yes, “Asatō mā sadagamayaṁ” means “Promote me from non-existence to existent reality”. And the Vedic verse as well, says that neither existence nor even non-existence prevailed before the world.
    After that, you doubted about the description of no day and night being existent. You asked the reason, if it was meant to convey the information of no light and no darkness, why was it so oversimplified like “no day and no light". As much as I tried to go through the context, kids were sent to Gurukul at that time at the age of five to six. And this part of the Rigveda is one of the starting chapters. So, if a teacher or Guru wanted to make the students understand about the pre-BigBang ambience, he just couldn't say that there was no light and no darkness. Because that 5-6 years old kid was never going to get what it was like. He/she didn't even know what the properties of light are! So, as a simile, the phrase “no light no darkness" was used.
    I think I am able to make clear what my arguments are. I also tried to be as civil as possible for me, and I would like people in the reply to behave the same.

    I'm hundred percent sure you have not read any sutras. Take Surya siddhanta for example, they have poems in place of formulas that aid to calculate earth's rotation speed. It even gives a calculation to find earth's tilt (granted it's not the exact number as we know today, to have an accurate number thousands of years ago is an amazing achievement). सत् & सद् have different meaning when used in a sentence. How are you even comparing a Shanti mantra to a sutra? You ignore to dwell deep into the shloka because you don't understand it. Lastly, hyperquest didn't claim "scientists are discovering it now" crap, he simply says that this is seen in modern science as well. Vaisheshika sutra talks about atomic particles, obviously not as scientific as we know it today, but imagine someone actually having conversation on things like अणु ! It's clear you have a bias, do spend some time understanding what others are saying before you crap on them. Half of your video was your view and interpretation than showing the "truth"

      @@smellyfut4277 He isn't being logical :
      Scientsists think a closed universe will behave in much the same way. Its expansion will slow down until it reaches a maximum size. Then it will recoil, collapsing back on itself. As it does, the universe will become denser and hotter until it ends in an infinitely hot, infinitely dense singularity. Or the Big Freeze scenario could happen, as the Universe keeps expanding on forever, and ever, and ever, and ever, until nothing but sub-atomic particles remain. So Science cannot prove what happened before or after this, cause they aren't this advancement.
      It’s funny how humans think they know about the universe.
      Who knows how the universe came to be. It could have always existed, an infinite plane of time, that never started, nor ever will end. It’s an idea people can’t even wrap their heads around.
      The whole Big Bang thing was a mere theory, calculated based on the universe’s expanding rate.
      We don’t even know if the Universe is infinite or finite, and there is no way to find a “starting point” on an infinite plane.
      Hell, the real answer is probably something humans can’t even begin to imagine, let alone theorize and figure out with science.
      And the funny thing is, no matter which theory you believe, all of it breaks current science anyway. If the Big Bang was real, then what was before it? Another universe? Nothing? Either way, there is no scientific explanation for why another universe would suddenly condense into the big bang, nor why matter would pop into existence.
      In other words, its either a never ending cycle with no beginning/ending, or a beginning that started from pure nothingness. Science cannot explain either. So neither can they disprove the Cyclic Universe, nor can they prove it. Some scientists accept it and some don't.
      He said how can words that are loosely translated give rise to anything scientific🤣. Welcome to sanatan dharma. He cannot accept that maybe we were right and he is wrong. This nasadiya suktam was translated literally thousands of years ago and passed down, when your science was still in its renaissance period🤣. He is trying to suggest that we copied science. Now who is older, the vedas or science? He says it is a liberal translation. He says why didn't we learn about the big bang from that verse🤣. Maybe cause you ignorant scientists were more foucsed on burning and trying to ruin the vedas and actually learn from them. If they actually tried to learn from them, the world would be quite different wouldn't it. Those who have studied the vedas, have actually verified how scientific it is. Just because it provides the answer without your scientific workings doesn't mean it is wrong. It is not a maths book where you must show working to score a mark. it is a religious book, which causally mentions some parts of science whilst trying to teach us about the glory of God. So he has completetely misunderstood religion.
      Next he starts waffling about the vedas was written by humans. He doesn't understand sanskrit. The verse is talking about God, and saying how he has always existed, and how before God created immortality and death, he was there. This verse is saying how before life and death, God was there. So where is he including science? This talks about God, not science.
      He doesnt look at the rest cause he knows it it true. He doesnt try and make it fit the big bang. He is explaining the commentary of rishis from thousands of years before. So if anything, the big bang is trying to fit this. We don't care about the big bang. We reject the big bang, so wtf is he saying about we are trying to fit the big bang. All religious people reject the big bang, we believe god made the universe, not two particles.
      Their modern science is based on observation. However what is in this sukta is not science. We don't care about science. This is religion. We don't need your equations and working out to prove something. Just because someone wrote something about the universe and people agree with it, doesn't mean it is science. THEY ALL COME FROM PRAYERS YOU FUKING IDIOTS, THEY ARE MEANT TO PRAISE GOD, NOT YOUR FUKING SCIENCE. All science eventually leads to the existence of God, so go home and live your life peacefully without tryna stress whether something correct is written in the vedas.
      This guy said scripture was learned from evidence, then written down. I don't think he even understands religion. You don't even need to Hindu to realise that this guy is chatting so much BS.
      He is boasting about what Science has done, with predictions. Well what do you think Sanatan Dharma has done? It is not a prediction because Hinduism believed this before science existed, thousands of years back in the vedic period.
      This bruddah talks about predictions. It is not a make a wish book. It is a scripture. Read the Surya Sidhanta, or other ones. It is not that because there is no working, the answer is discredited.
      So overall you are just an Ignorant being who is not aware of sanatan dharma. Nice

But claiming that we knew airplane mechanism, aerodynamics, quantum physics or calculus its like saying I know how to run a Michelin star restaurant just because my forefathers said they knew how to boil water and they wrote a vague letter hypothesising the boiled water idea. 😒

    • @shantanumunjal8963
      @shantanumunjal8963 Před měsícem +1

      Ok see, universe expands not as in like a balloon blowing up. Atleast according to what I've read, universe expands every atom at once
      Take this example,
      If you were to send a violet light from point a to b in space(which are far enough) and then reflect it back from b to a, the light that would come back is red. Why does this happen? It's back the whole universe expands, including the space between a and b. And hence, violet light expands too and travels down the light spectrum making it red
      This is purely an example tho just to make you understand

      Nah not a good argument. Grah or planet had different definations before, it comes from grahm means "one that meander" so whatever was meandering in sky too fast, was Planet for them.
      With modern definations we have better defination. Just like just some decades ago Pluto was a planet too, defination was updated then it was not.

    Yes i just check the translation of the nasadiya sukta from kramer's translation of the rv it says something like this
    There was neither non-existence nor existence then;
    Neither the realm of space, nor the sky which is beyond;
    What stirred? Where? In whose protection?
    There was neither death nor immortality then;
    No distinguishing sign of night nor of day;
    That One breathed, windless, by its own impulse;
    Other than that there was nothing beyond.
    So hyperquest was right in this regard

    I personally think there are many factors attached to Indian people believing in pages and videos trying to rationalise religion and spirituality from India without evidence. One I think is Colonial Inferiority which was created and carefully crafted by British and the education system they brought in which negated a lot of our evidence based and scientific discoveries as inferior. This was to an small extend even continued after Independence wherein our evidence based scientific and mathematic discoveries weren't given priority for example the lack of more study on the work of Aryabhatta or Kerala School of Mathematics. Second aspect is our cognitive biases which tends to discredit our scepticism of our religion perceived role in science. This is just my hypothesis and great work Pranav especially your main Channel Science is Dope and your revamped DD Rational
