    Thanks for the vid :D Mine has done about 35k under my ownership so I guess it's time. I doubt the pervious owners have done this before.

    Imma do mine at work on a lift. I bet it's easier with the pumpkin hanging down vs compressed by control arms. Anyone else I'd suggest jackstands from either the side where the hole is for suicide jack and some good rebar or anything solid or just throw the stands under the car at the bump stops for lifts.

    why do you want to refill it ? i mean do we need to know that there is sings/symptoms and such ? coz mine wine as heck and it shakes when i accelerate and even when i put it in (N) .

    At how many miles should this be changed? Got almost 90k on mine and no record of it being done previously

      I change mine every 50k miles on all my cars . If not changed it can look like the goop that came out of my SL .

    It should be ok on low - but I think it would be preferable to put it in a bucket of pan of hot water. Water never gets +100C, so whatever it is, your oil gets hotter than that inside the car, so that should be ok.

    ok fupabox I'm going to give this a go .... any tips about cracking open the fill plug?

    • @fupabox
      @fupabox  Před 10 lety

      clean out the inside of the allen headed bolt so the socket fits as deeply and securely as possible ...otherwise,it's straightforward,,,just a bit cramped under there

      ***** whew! ..... you're not kidding about the cable mount .... I couldn't figure out how to move it ..... ended up wrenching a hex bit with an open box wrench... was able to get by without jacking the car, just rolled the left rear over a 2" board so I could get both hands on the wrench, that fill plug was tight .... rolled it off before filling .... Thanks for the video, it helped a lot :) cheers

    Does it matter if you can't fill it so much as the car is tilted?

    • @fupabox
      @fupabox  Před 2 lety

      you should try to get the level as close as possible to the fill hole opening . It is better to lift the car from a different angle to ensure it is full than to leave it a bit low

    You should have heated the refill in the microwave for better viscosity ;)
