    Well after driving the newer 1.5 dci with 4wd i was actually really impressed and in my opinion the ”right” engine for this car.

    That 1.3 is sold as an entry level Mercedes petrol unit.

    Really nice video !! The 130 engine looks like the best motor... I totally agree with you...

    I´am the proud owner of a duster prestige, leather interior, with this same engine. It surprised me, comfortable and quick for an SUV. Only gote it a week ago and done 300km so fare and on highway only with cruise control on at 130km/h and the average consumption is 8.2L. On B roads this will defenetly go down into 7L. Great care.

      Dacia just launched the 4x4 version of the 1.3 TCe 130\150 hp, at least in Romania! People already bought the car, you can find first impressions on some Facebook groups..

    Its better to buy the 4x4 version then the 4x2.I know that the 4x4 consumption is higher with 1,5 l /100 km,but you can benefit the good 4x4 in almost all hard winter ir muddy terrain

    Thanks for a great video. Have you any experience of the 125 hp engine in the Duster ? I have heard that there have been some issues with that engine.

      We unfortunately do not get the test cars for long enough to really uncover any major issues that would develop over years of use.

    How did you manage to get the same fuel economy as with 4x4 version with a roof box... im thinking 'bout gettin 1.3 4x4 130 bhp.. i was thinking about 1.5 dci but more and more im leaning with 1.3 although im interested in soft offroading..overlanding...perhaps towing a boat...not above 750 kg
    .. thoughts ...advice?

    • @Pit-Stop
      @Pit-Stop  Před 3 lety

      Most likely because I practically did not switch over to 4x4 as it was not needed on the roads when doing regular tests and fuel consumption. The 1.3 is a fun engine for the Duster, although beware - it was never meant as a car that swooped around corners and with the power of the 1.3, it can start sliding out of the intended route fairly easily if you're heavy on the throttle and/or speed. The gas engine is definitely fun and has a little bit more torque than the diesel but will be quite hungry for fuel. I can not, unfortunately, give you any other advice regarding towing, as we do not have a trailer and have not tested the vehicles with one.

      @michaelwhittman2788 Před 3 lety

      Tnx for the quick reply...im not a fan of fast driving... i have light shoes on the throttle 😀...while 1.5 dci would be better for "off road" fuel consumtion is not that diffrent ? If you go easy on the throttle...and petrol engine is cheaper to maintain...choices ,choices 😀

    • @Pit-Stop
      @Pit-Stop  Před 3 lety +2

      The 1.3 can be pretty thirsty, even if you're trying to be economical. A diesel is a diesel, of course, and the 1.5 is fairly light on fuel. I strongly suggest you test drive both first. The 4x4 means you'll get the short first gear, which feels comically short on the diesel (obviously meant for offroading instead of having a reductor).

      In fact I probed the captur 150, automatic on small roads near montpellier. About same weight.
      And it gave me driving pleasure. I suspect 0 to 60 in just above 8 sec ( tachymètre). 80-120 in 5.7 sec according to ze perf (, French site for cars). And as my other car is a mx5, NC, 2 l, 2006, I know what fun driving is. Right hand drive mx5
      80-120 kmh

      @XenonLxx Před 3 lety

      It's good, but it's the same engine. Literally all components are the same as the 130hp version. Only difference is that it's tuned differently. I personally wouldn't go for the same engine with more power, it's guaranteed to wear faster.

    The only advantage of FWD is the weight i think 1300 kilograms, and maybe the consumption.

    • @XenonLxx
      @XenonLxx Před 3 lety +1

      4x4 is also parasitic on performance and it shows on official numbers, all 4x4 variants have worse acceleration and top speed compared to FWD. Costs more too, not just buying price but also maintanance.

    On my 150 PS 4WD celebration duster the consumption is not that good (±7,8 l/100km) and also the displayed one is nearly always wrong :D so the real consumption awaits you on the gas station....
