One thing I have noted with the "ride along" videos as people travel... If you were born before about 1990, your videos will be about *where* you are. If you are born after that date, the same videos will be about where *you* are. Both my wife and I, born in 1966, are not at all comfortable making any of our videos about us, and being on camera. Our 24 YO daughter on the other hand... Kudos to you both for getting out of about every comfort zone you might have otherwise had, it seems.
Hello, What is the name of the area in Durres your living in? What is the cost of rent in that area? I am flying into Tirana in October. I would like to rent a place long term in Durres and like the area you are in. Thank you!
@@montedreams1 hello. The area we were in was called Shkallnur (which is in between Durrës and Golem). It was relatively peaceful (other than some construction noise, which wasn’t unbearable) and quiet. We were there for the end of February and most of March. In October it should be off season, so it should be similar, I would think, to when we were there. We paid $485 for the airbnb for a month. It was a nice, clean, modern apartment but no soundproofing. There were enough restaurants open and there are plenty of mini markets and grocery stores within walking distance. You can take a taxi to the center of Durrës in about 20-25 minutes (depending greatly on traffic 😬) for about $10. Tirana, the capital city is only 30 minutes from Durrës, so it’s plenty close enough to go to, also. I would just advise you that because most of the businesses there rely heavily on tourism, it might be a little more difficult to find places open in the winter there. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did! Let us know, if you go, and we can recommend some good restaurants there. 😉
