    I have heard a lot of both South Africans and African Americans talking about or referring to us as TRIBES in South Africa. This is politically and linguistically incorrect. South African ethnic groups have transcended the stage of being tribes to the nationhood. We are a truly MULTI-NATIONAL country; VhaVenda, amaSwati, amaXhosa, Basotho, amaZulu, Batswana, etc. these are all fully fledged NATIONS not tribes. We passed the tribalistic stages long time ago, even before the European colonialists arrived on our shores when powerful and visionary leaders of our people in the likes Shaka, Moshoeshoe, Sekhukhuni, Hintsa etc. built and led the nations of AmaZulu, Basotho, amaXhosa, Basotho Ba Lebowa and many more others who did the same, all starting from the scratch with no titles before their names. Sons and daughters of the soil who possessed leadership qualities, sheer determination, visions and other attributes and qualities which made them amongst the greatest in the history of human kind. In contrast, no one calls or refers to the Europeans, be them English, French, Germans, etc. as TRIBES. As South Africans and Africans, we must start respecting and describing ourselves in a correct way and teaching others to see us and respect us in that way.

    So in turn they tell their friends, co workers, families etc that you can have a good time in Africa.. AA have just really started heavily traveling post 1968...The blessing is now there are people able to vlog the experience and share it with others.

    As much as alot of history has been twisted to benefit the west, but science proves that all Humans, black people originated from southern Africa, they thn moved to the North of Africa. The cradle of Human kind is in southern Africa, oldest rocks are in the south of Africa. This Narrative of tribes coming from the North to the south is false, bcoz ryt now Afrikaaner are saying they the ones who came first in the southern Africa, before any Nguni Umbrella Tribes,which is false.

    • @dinaledi4085
      @dinaledi4085 Před 2 lety +7

      True, some tribes may have come from the North . However if you look at proven archeological evidence from sites such The Cradle of Humankind in the West of Joburg and the Mapungubwe site in the Limpopo region , it is clear that some tribes were indigenous to the South and this is not only the Khoi or San people.

      you're not entirely wrong nor are you entirely right but there's evidence that suggests that indeed the cradle of humanity was in Africa and there's also evidence and even biblical history indicates that at one point humanity was one tribe and they were all speaking one language under the rule of king Nimrod who was also a black man. After that tribe broke, it birthed many other tribes and there was a great migration whether it was north or south it is still up for debate.

    • @trayway3014
      @trayway3014 Před 2 lety +5

      @@delciocosta7817 The cradle of Human kind is only in the south, as far as I know, that's is clearly the answer for now that all humans are from the south. Specifally black people if I coud say. the whole world started in the south of Africa. The problem is Most white south africans like twisting history to give them reason to be called natives. Ryt now Boers/Afriforum are saying Afrikaans shud be one of the indigenous languages of south africa and they say Ngunis are not from south africa. That is false, All Ngunis are from the Eastern part of of south africa, Khoisan are mainly in the west.
      The south africans history is Suger coated so much, that they lie and say English/Afrikaans witnessed the King of the Zulus *Shaka Zulu*. That is whole cap, the white people never Fought shaka Zulu but his successor. They were hearing bout shaka Zulu, but never went eye to eye with him, they waited for his downfall after that they went to the next upcoming king. Got nothing against white south africans, but most of them they divide the nation and feed us alot of lies, they be tryna claim that other tribes are not south african, to also gain pass to be recognised.

This narative that the SAN are of origin to South Africa is not entirely factual. There are also Nguni people in Northern Mozambique, I haven't heard them speak but probably will have clicks too. And obviously some languages in Namibia, Eswatini, Botswana and Zimbabwe have clicks too. My point is, it's a Southern Africa thing, rather than only SA. So the story about Jan van Riebeeck was true and just in addition they also brought slaves into SA via the Cape Colony from the Dutch colonies. Then the British also came with their slaves from their colonies including Angola, Guinea etc. Then the were wars also between the Boers and British and the natives also. The frontier wars were in the Cape Colony expanded to the Zulu Kingdom then later the Anglo Boer War. The Boers did the Great Trek inland until they found Gold and then the rest is a convoluted history of further wars and concentration camps of the Boers by the English etc etc and of course the advent of apartheid.

      The Cape Malays are the descends of Muslim communities who were brought from some Dutch colonial possessions like Malaysia, Indonesia, Madagascar, etc. to the now Western Cape, then declared a Dutch colony by Jan van Riebeeck in 1652. They were brought here as slaves, prisoners, and political exiles by the East by the Dutch East India Company. One the most prominent amongst them was Sheikh Yusuf al-taj Alkhalwatial-Maqasari, from South Sulawesi Province, who was exiled to the Cape of Good Hope, on 27 June 1693 where he first established a cohesive Muslim community and started disseminating Islam hence him being credited as having brought Islam to South Africa.

That's one of the reasons Europeans constantly visit this region, many still doing research here about origins of humankind and first humans supreme nutrition. That's why they encourage a lotta African Americans and Diaspora to focus on West Africa, meanwhile Humans originated from Southern Africa
