I am Nephi Acaling. I am native to Bacolod City but currently living in Cebu City, Philippines. I’ve lived in different countries like Singapore, Japan and United States due to job assignments. I was in the US when I started this channel thus the confusion to some where I am truly based.
At a time, I was a band vocalist performing every Friday and Saturday night at a local bar chain but recently decided to quit from my band to focus on my CZcams Channel and my full-time job as an engineer.
I was a member of the Filipino Voice Symphony where I was taught by professional chorale singers (e.g. former soprano from UP Madrigal Singers). Our choral group actually bagged the Gold Medal in the International A cappella Championships held in Singapore in 2011.
I was the Glee Club President and was a trainer for various singing competitions when I was in the university - all these were humbling experiences for me.
I enjoy watching videos especailly singing performances and react to them.
I keep my reactions real and natural.

He composed the song, he sang that song and he played Hang Tuah, the Sultan Malacca's greatest warrior and most loyal servant, who then fall in love with a javanese princess.The princess love him too but their love was forbid as the Sultan want the Princess to be his Queen. Hang Tuah opted for loyalty toward his Sultan over his own feelings for princess.

Siti Nurhaliza & M.Nasir breathe life to this song...they were not attempting to achieve perfection by hitting high notes but more to put soul to this song. I think it serves the purpose of this movie, that revolves around the love triangle between the princess, the King and his servants...a bit of drama there...
Back when our music industry was alive and thriving, and we had 2 of the best voices in one of the (in my opinion) best songs ever written, also one of the best movies ever produced in Malaysia, starring some of our finest actors and choreographers, i could go on, but u get the drill. It was a great time.

Normally When Siti Nurhaliza did duets, her voice mostly dominates the song but not with M Nasir. He did have equal or arguably better vocal presence probably due to his unique and macho sounding voice. IMHO

The princess actress is Tiara Jacqulina, she is one of the good film and theatre actress in Malaysia slightly underrated ..she played The Princess of Mount Ledang very well in both film and theatre...

I promise you that would be the best version of cover song ever. Its too bad that the only available CZcams video of live performance these two have together for this song is from concert 'Bagaikan Sakti' M. Nasir and Siti Nurhaliza in Singapore, and that video alone was unfortunately a low quality one.

Personally this song is a masterpiece, sung by two living legends - the voices, written with intricate & poetic lyrics, with mixed contemporary & traditional Malay & Javanese melody, produced for the most expensive film ever made in Malaysia..
You should hear the original song sung by the actress & producer, Puan Seri Datin Tiara Jacquelina herself which is totally different with this duet..
Next year in July 2020, Tiara will produce Puteri Gunung Ledang The Musical Season 4 in Istana Budaya.. Can’t wait for the performance!!
