When you separate out the more complex eye there’s a blurred black circle? Is that a part of the Iris that you separate out or just so we could see your separated highlights? Really hoping to make my first model soon just need to finish the drawing. Can I ask, does it make more sense to cut the pieces from flat layers or draw/colour the pieces in their own layer from the start? Thanks so much for these videos!! ❤
If you’re referring to the black circle under the highlights, then I just used that to show the highlights since they won’t show well on a white background! It really depends on your preference, and there’s no wrong way. Some people prefer to draw the entire model then to cut the pieces after. But I prefer to draw some parts separate from the getgo then color them in their own layers. Whichever way you do it just takes time to wrap your head around what needs to be cut and how, as well as order of layers. Thank you for your comment! ❤️

I am interested in learning live 2d as a an additional experience in the media field. I might wait a while before I upgrade my potato laptop, but learning and watching your tutorials help gave insights as preparation. Thank you! ❤
Really the only difference I do is I take what I call the “eyeshade” on its own layer and clipped onto the scela along with the Iris, Eyeshine, ect. So when my eyeball moves, it will stay still until I blink with physics on. I’ve learn that the most fun eyes to rig are the ones with as many layers as you can get
I used to draw with 30-ish layers back when starting out digital art, then I simplify it to less than 10 layers for full body because it's so complicated going through all the layers. I can't imagine making these many layers just for one eye, let alone a full body model. Props to you!! I hope I can reach to your level someday 😊

When I first started digital drawings I used 5-10 layers, now the lowest I'll go is 65-70
