Only blizzard would make a full blown anime short that rivals modern day anime just to promote 3 new skins
"Modern day anime" is a very wide margin. Some anime have bigger budgets than others or less experienced staff.
Like this quality dwarfs some anime but also pales in comparison to even some older shows.

Chills when he pops BL and the boosters light up before he charges... When Tyrael's boosters light up and he sits there building up... these guys know EXACTLY what old school anime was all about. Need more!
Seeing this video makes me really sad. This was kinda the height of hots in my opinion. I know the remaining devs are trying their best, it’s just that seeing the state of the game now compared to 2018 is kinda heartbreaking. To the remaining devs and fans keep the game alive.

@Dr. Where Why? HotS is still fun and we still have new stuff in the form of reworks, anomalies, skins, mounts and new heroes (yep, fewer new heroes, but it's not like DotA 2 has a lot of them)

You know Blizz is the best when they just, oh you know, casually come out with an epic anime battle scene just for 3 skins.
This is the problem with Blizzard, they can make great animation and great skins, but forget about great engine with instant reconnect, great matchmaking and great ranked system that won't place last season platinums in master.
Got to agree if they don't redo the Engine and migrate away from SC2 soon it'll never happen. The more they delay the more difficult it'll be.

Alex Krendor this is great and all, but they don't really do that. They just write one sentence for the skin, describing the "lore," if you want to call it that.

This cinematic and lore is pretty cool but we can't forget that literally every MOBA has skin lore ranging from cinematics to comics and short stories. Just to name a few...
HoN skin lore (black legion, URSA Corps, cyber universe, etc.)
LoL skin lore (project, star guardians, bloodmoon, etc.)
Smite skin lore and events (various Odyssey events and skins)
Dota2 (Arcana skin lore)
The list goes on and on...

There are two Abathurs... you just never noticed because they are using the same skin and they weren't shown in the same frame in this one video. Otherwise this fight would be unfair 2v1.
The abathur(s) party had afk tyrael and rehgar on it. He was copying his own team's players, which happens to have used the same skins as the other team.
Blizzards art and animation team is off the chain.

it's been past 2 years and I still could watch this trailer ten times a day and the worst even after all this viewings the moment when rehgar pop up the BL and the music goes nuts my eyes are always wets of pure excitement
