I am a very average shooter I purchase two tuning breaks from Eric. One for my 6.5 creedmore and for my 338 Lapua. I did this same what I called walking it in with the tuner at 100 yards setting 9 on a Ruger precision rifle and easily had a 3/4 moa to a 1/2
took it to the range yesterday started at 600 and walked it all the way to 1250 and out of 10 shots I had 7 on the 12"x12 "plate the rest just off the plate hitting the 10'x 10' steel easily the best day of my life and its Erics turner in my mind is what did it. I don't know Eric from a hole in the wall it just works

Nice groups. Now take the tuner brake off and see how much the re-crowning of the barrel when you installed the tuner affected the results. Then we'll have a full data set(assuming we're ignoring any load development options).

A few things that come to mind. 1) Erik needs to sell those polos! 2) The tuner allows the gun to shoot but it still doesn't fix the fact that the plain jane plastic stocks are uncomfortable to shoot. I have a few Browning's that have McMillan stocks and even they are uncomfortable. The older I get the more I will spend to a) be comfortable b) to have good clear glass! For what they do the EC Tuner is a steal.

Update. I tried EC PRS tuner on my Tikka Tac A1 6.5 and happy with results. With same Hornady eld ammunition I reduced my groups from 0.5-0.6 avg and 0.45 best group to 0.4-0.5 with 0.3 best group. Also tried Sako ammo which I tried only once (20rds) without tuner and it was 0.75-0.9 and with tuner I shot 50 rounds and average was 0.5-0.6 with 0.43 best group. After I shot 50 rounds sako ammo, I turned tuner to position for hornady and shot last group 0.4’’ and it was perfect zero like before

Thanks for your proffesional opinion on this subject. I have a question about bullets. The 145 gr 7mm variety. I recently purchased a box of 50 and I always check a few weights and diameters from each box/lot prior to reloading new ammunition. In this box I noticed inconsistant weights on the first few I checked. That promted me to weigh each bullet in this box and I found the low weights to be appropriately 144.7 gr the high weights to be 146.6 gr and pretty much everything inbetween. I know my scale is not perfect but has always been very consistant. At what variations would the finished ammunitions reliability as a hunting round be affect by the inconsistant weights, if any?
    Thanks,
    Paul

Erik (or Jason), Have you ever found that the Ckye-Pod digging into the ground makes any difference when the soil is somewhat soft (effecting recoil ..even with what little recoil there is with the break)? Just wondering if putting something under the pod's feet (like a little plywood board) would make any difference (maybe even more consistently tighter groups)? The groups were very impressive anyhow but I'm curious about your thoughts on that (or if you've tried that and found it to be worse possibly). Great shooting Jason!

I hate to burst everybody bubble, Browning say 30 years ago came out with their tuning system called the Boss all work on the same principle they no longer offer it, why maybe because it did not work so good. Accuracy improvement getting away from wood, aluminum block bedding, improvement in barrel quality and stress relief, and ammo. Take super sniper rifle custom what five thousand, had the wiz kid barrel tuner but wait that ammo box, I bet you a fiddle made out of gold they had to use custom reloads to get it what they call to shoot half inch groups. My Remington 700 308 win Magpul with my light reloads will shoot half inch 3 shots groups, and like super sniper my nine shot in a one inch square, if I had a rest like the thousand yard shooters, it would do better. Everybody at hundred yards has floating cross hairs on a inch circle. Get a chassis or aluminum bedding block stock like magpul, Bell and Carison, MDT, H&S most have torque specs between 65-50 inch pounds, if you want to play with screws adjust the action screws torque down from the high five inch pounds at a time, I would no go below 50 that can change the harmonicas and (improve accuracy). Try Sako ammo, Norma ammo, Hornady ammo any thing but Winchester white box. Accuracy is just part of it, good stock ''hold zero'', cheap stocks do not, they flex action screws back out. Expand and contract. Take a letter Cortina address it to your self, say I have my finger stuck up you know what, keep to your self. LOL LOL LOL come on man that is funny. I suppose you would have to be born in the 60's to get that. Tony and Orlando and Dawn.

Need more cheap rifle did they call it a SPS and no floor plate. it looks like Remington no long making ADL I can't find any, the SPS are the new ADL I was looking at my sps varmint heavy barrel with my reading glasses on, the lug that rides on the rail on the right side back side look like it was broken off. I looked at my magpul 5R had the same thing but much smaller. The SPS looking at the back side of the lug it was noticeable
causing a lack of surfaces on the lug. All my other 700 lug that rides the rail are uniform only take away a tiny part of the lug back surface. old 700 vs New 700 I guess opening up the back of the lug grove on the bolt, may help with hangs operating the bolt. The round back of the chamber was rough. No more SPS for me only 5R cerakoted upper end rifles. The machining and fit is much better than the SPS good by ADL never had or wanted one. Now the 700 police are special now 24'' barrel H&S stocks, threaded and said to have faster lock time, Not blue printed but more attention paid in the making. Blue printing a rife, I guess if it was way out of specs, MOA or close waste of money. You may not see the 700 police on civilian market again. The Savage 10T-SR put in a chassis shows good accuracy but seem to have injection problems. And are cheaper than a 700. I had 3 in the 90's accuracy not so good. Needed red neck hand lapping poor hot lead slug in the barrel attach a rod add
valve grinding compound and work it back and forth trying to find a tight spot. I red neck new SPS barrels with J&B cleaner some on a dry patch
20-30 strokes then clean with shooters Choice saves ammo on break in. And the barrel shines like a custom barrel. When my match grade barrels get copper up I use J&B it is lightly Abrasive not near as abrasive as bullet going down the barrel at 60,000 psi. Cleaning out all the copper and then will shoot badly say 10-15 rounds to copper up the barrel again. Funny my 5R rifle copper up quickly. My SPS not so much.
Copper is not your enemy not until your groups start opening up say around 200 or more rounds. My 700 police keeps dark copper streaks and
shoots great. I read a story of a badly pitted barrel as long it had a copper build up shot lights out.
