    Just wanted to say thanks for the Miele S4000 series video, which enabled me to repair mine successfully. Without the video I would not have had the confidence to have a go (despite having a technical background myself in another field). Really helpful thanks.

    Thanks for this video. After watching this I was able to fix my mielle vacuum (same as the one in the video). Mine had a break in the power cord right where it enters the cord winder unit. I really appreciate the time you took to make and post this video. Also, this vacuum seems to be really well designed. Our has lasted us about 14 years so far and this was the first thing to go wrong with it.

    Thanks for the detailed video. I had a S4210 just like that, which would suddenly no longer turn on. It turned out to just be the plug, but I had to get it apart to test the connectivity down to the connectors on the cable spool. Your directions saved me a lot of time guessing what to do next. And I cleaned it up while I was at it . . . got me some extra points around the house. Apparently it sucks better now!

    This was my first Miele, back in 2005-ish. I paid $399 for a Sirius, which was a Diamond Dealer exclusive, apparently. It is a sparkling blue color and came with a HEPA filter, which I think were the only two special things about it. Tools were the usual three hand tools and the excellent Parquet Twister. After 15-ish years of heavy use (it's been used every single day in a 4 bedroom home with two dogs and all hard floors), it's only required a new on/off switch, a new hose handle (someone accidentally crushed it by backing over it during the course of cleaning the car, not the machine's fault...and the hose was fine), and a new cord reel. It's earned it's value many times over and still has the quiet, powerful "bzz" & "whoosh" every time it turns on :)

    Great video again.
    The only problem I have with assembled in china is, taking jobs away from people in the country it's made in. Kind of like if all people start fixing Vacuum's themselves and not bringing them to you anymore.
    Oh...and racist ginger Jew, LMFAO. Keep the Miele videos coming!! Very interesting and informative.

    Lol @ whine in the comments below if you live in the middle of no where. I drove 2 hrs to a Miele "service" provider who did nothing and then sent my vacuum back. That's why I'm watching this video.

    Great video - even though I do not have this model series, there are still things to learn.
    It is very interesting to see the differences in Miele vacuum motors explained even though they are both Vortex motors. I noticed this same thing on the S5 and S8/C3. The S5 has the larger diameter motor while both the S8 and C3 have the smaller diameter encapsulated motor. Until this video, I always wondered why the measured suction on my S5 was always about 0.5 - 1 kPa more than my newer S8/C3. The difference in impeller/fan blade size makes the difference.
    One question - What benefits does encapsulating the motor have? My guess would be that it would help with noise and perhaps dust. It may also direct air flow a bit better. I am interested in your thoughts Performance Reviews.
    Thanks again! Keep up these great educational videos.

    Noticed you also service Dyson, are those any good? Compared to Miele, how often does a dyson needs to be serviced?

    • @PerformanceReviews
      @PerformanceReviews  Před 6 lety +2

      +P-Stine Dyson's need constant attention. Make sure you rinse your filter after every use and replace the HEPA filter every 6 months to a year. I would never compare Malaysian slave labor too fine German machinery.

    Hey man I want to know if it’s possible for me to put a premium power head wand and pit it to my c2 compact power line plus? The hose with the nicer looking handle?

      SDCEO is what the sticker on the bottom says. It’s the c2 compact power line plus that’s sold at Williams Sonoma and bed bath beyond if that helps? Appreciate your thoughts. Cheers

    Thanks so much for this video. Just finished fixing my S4210. I intended to replace the broken cord retractor assembly, but after spending way too much time poking around to see why it was borked, I discovered the spring steel retractor had come off the hub. After more too much time, I figured out how to reattach it and rewind things properly. PS: If people out there don't have torx tools/bits, Harbor Freight has a very nice bit set for $11 or so that include torx and lots of other odd fastener types.
