The Miele C1 Classic Pure Suction. You'll notice I've got a slightly older "Olympus" model, but as far as I can tell, it's the same thing - no other way to do a long term review. I go into depth about long term ownership, how it has held up, how well it SUCKS, and a general overview of features.

you actually made figuring out my new vacuum entertaining! thanks so much.
Im gonna give this video 10/10 for honesty and cats
I'm sick of crap vacuums, this review has sold me on this fabulous german vac. Thank you!
You have the best review and I’ve seen so many Miele vacuum cleaner reviews. 🎉 Thanks!!!
That was a great review. I didn't know about the other storage clip!
Great review, you sold me! And this was super entertaining and funny 😆
Great review. Showed exactly what I wanted to know. Love your personality.
Loved the review!! Thank you so much, I think this will be perfect for us.
Great review of the vacuum! Thank you.
Thank you for the thorough review!
Thank you for watching!
Lots of information. Thank you!
Great review, thank you!
I just bought one aswell for Christmas and they are a great vacuum cleaners to use
This is the best review I have ever watched….all the others are companies. Thanks mate.
Did not have a manual, thanx for the full bag indicator info
Good review, you covered all the main point and a nice demo of the vacuum. Appreciate that.
Too bad this does not come with a power brush for pile carpets.
Super helpful dude thanks a bunch
This is an excellent review
Thank you!
Thank you for the best and honest video on CZcams! Others always have brand new vacuum cleaner right out of the box. Everything else is good to know. I wandering if I should go for Miele compact C2 ecoline or complete C3 or classic C1? Or is compact C2 ecoline good enough?
Thank you for making this fun to view. I just bought this vacuum. Too lazy to read boring manuals. Noticed your cat tower. I have a fluffy white cat with a tail like a squirrel. He loves to lay on back of sofa! Fur everywhere.
Your cat sounds adorable! This vacuum certainly helps us keep the furniture clear of fur.
Just ordered a Miele C1 Classic Turbo Team, was mildly concerned whether their more budget options were actually worth getting, seeing this review gives me some hope that my unit should last a decently long time without breaking like every other vacuum I've had over the years.
5 years no problems, sees very heavy use. I think you'll enjoy it!
great, informative. I may buy one.
Now I've had it 5, maybe 6 years running. Still used heavily, still very happy with it.
Finally found your channel again!
Which video did you lose me after?
@@Bootstrappin none! the classic CZcams algorithm stopped recommending videos from you
@@allan6707 oh dang! Thank you CZcams, always looking out for the little guy 😂
“If you want to clean your ear” 😂
Thank you!!!
Thank you much. I'm on the verge of purchasing a Miele. Also, BTW, there are orb things flying all around you. Could be dust but they are flying at different speeds and in different directions. Odd.
You can’t beat a bag.
Agreed. No muss, no fuss.
Thanks for the good video and especially the smash-that-subscribe-button at the end.
Really nice review.. Best thing : a review after real usage not a half hour review before anyone gets the product.. A review after 4 yrs of usage tells a lot in itself.. I have put all hardwood floor in house 3500 sq ft.. Any advise, I should buy Miele (meela 🤔) or Dyson.? Or any other...
Don't know anything about Dyson, but I also have hardwood floors throughout, and the Miele is perfect for that.
1) 5:16 Is the valve on the bag get stuck like that often?
2) Does the bag spew dust out easily as you pull it out with stuck valve?
3) Is it noticable when the bag is full? Lower suction or something? It will be used by my grandparents, they could fail to see the indicator.
4) How long does it take for you to fill up the bag?
5) Do you ever smell the dust in the air? Exhaust filter never fails?
6) Did you happen to try it on very uneven hard floor? We have a section of old wooden floor that go up to 1/5 on an inch below the highest point (between the planks). Do you think it can be a problem?
7) If the hose doesnt seal the bag properly the dust can go around the bag. Does the space for the bag ever gets dirty?
Thanks for your review. This kind of long term reviews are the only ones relevent. Seing how it gets worn, what could go wrong after a while is priceless.
Only if overstuffed. Just use the indicator to tell when the bag needs to be refilled, but yes suction gets worse. Couple of months. No dust smell. Does fine with uneven surfaces.
Thank you!
You a real one man vacuum game strong 💪 🔥

How often do you have to change the bags, and how many square feet are you vacuuming?
good review and glad you pointed out that there is no brush in the head. it sounds like an airplane, don't you think? Wow, 2 filters... that's great how you dirtied up your floors for this demo. thanks again.
Thank you and yeah it kinda does, a quiet jet engine if there's such a thing lol
In Australia and was heavily considering this. But my apartment will be all carpet. Wondering if you could simply get a different attachment to fix that downside?
So they have this "turbo brush attachment" which powers the brush off of the vacuum. Even without it I think the vacuum does well in low shag/pile. But for a lot carpeting, try the Turbo: amzn.to/3lJpFvZ
i have the c1 classic grey straight suction. The problem with it is that its very hard to glide on area rugs even though its advertised as meant for low pile rugs. do you have the same issue with the grey one?
I have the grey one. I mostly just pull if I use it on a rug. I got an aftermarket turbo brush off of Amazon that works well. I also have a rainbow and not much carpet. I love the rainbow but you can't exactly whip it out on a moment's notice. The miela works so well though that I don't break the rainbow out but once a month or so. I use the miela every day.
Excellent video. Hmm .. still on the fence. The C3 is just too expensive and I'm not poor. We have rooms with carpet and a long haired Australian Shepherd. However, for my Mom's house .. ehh maybe. In any case .. thanks for your time putting together this video! 👍😎
The regular C1 might just be fine. What I've found with roller brushes is that they just get absolutely caught/clogged with hairs.
@@Bootstrappin .. I won't argue about them getting clogged, they definitely do. Every so often I clean the brushes cutting the hair with an old serrated steak knife .. it works.
I bought a used Miele Titan. Doesn’t have the wire, this vacuum cannot be configured at all? To allow the powerbrush attachment?
Awesome review, thank you!
One question, why is the extension wand not extended, looks exhausting to vacuum with hunched over
Thank you - and idk lol
Yes you can extend it to twice that length. Also there’s an air driven turbo nozzle available with a spinning brush roll for rugs which would make cleaning rugs easier and more thorough.
Hi!!! I just got a C1 last week. I love it!! I do have a question that you may know the answer to. When you are vacuuming does the indicator light fluctuate orange as the suction changes? The other day I was vacuuming and I noticed that the indicator kept going up and down when I switched from a low pile rug to hardwood. Thanks for the thorough review!
It does -- yes, that's normal. It fluctuates due to the flow changing. You only want to switch the bag when the indicator is orange 100% of the time, more or less.
@@Bootstrappin THANK YOU!!!!!
5:15 - very unexpected.
This vacuum cleaner is positioned as an excellent filtering.
But when the bag is full, the lid of the bag does not close and the dust will calmly fall into the air.
So if you are an allergic person you need to change the bag without waiting for maximum filling, right?
That's an interesting observation, I would say yes - avoid letting it get completely stuffed like this.
You can always tape it shut with packing tape before pulling the bag out. Easy remedy.
Can you use an electric wand and powerbrush with it (SET 220 Electric Telescope Wand and SEB 236 Electro Premium Full-Size Electrobrush)?
No, I don't think so. This vacuum has no connector for electricity for this wand.
Do the Miele c1 compacts or classics have the same sealed system as the c2 / c3? In both exhaust & bag compartments?
I read the C1 classics are not sealed but the C1 compacts are.
Hey you have a link for the c1 turbo? Looks like it has a newer head.
This one? amzn.to/3s1Bh2w
You should pick up the air turbine brush. You have enough rugs that you need it.
Probably better not to let your dirt bag get bulging full because it puts strain on the motor. Change filter before it turns into a pillow. I think the manual mentions it.
A good point, yes - and probably a good reason to keep an eye on the fullness indicator.
Hi, If I purchase the Miele C1 Classic Pure, and purchase the Turbo Brush, will that work for cleaning my shag rug? Thanks!
no
So the turbo brush says it'll clean low to medium shag carpeting. It has no motor - just has a spinning brush powered by the vacuum suction. It'll probably get snagged in the shag. For that, the C3 with its powered head will probably work, but the price is very high: amzn.to/2AbBRSM
@@Bootstrappin what about area rugs or low pile carpet. i have the grey classic one and it wont glide over carpeting even when i switch the button for it to be on carpet it wont move easy its a lot of work for rugs.
@@MrWalker1000 there should be a little vent you can open up on the handle, reduces suction so you can glide easier
@@Bootstrappin i returned it and go the turbo version instead. it has a head specifically for carpeting with rolling brush but it was 100 dollars more. still german quality.
To bad this video hit me after I bought it thinking it was for wall to wall carpet sadly it’s not. Thankful I can return thru Amazon in the time frame.
The C1 Pure Suction fits a very odd niche. It's incredibly powerful, but really only practical on hard floors and above ground cleaning, and it still plows large debris on hard flooring with the combo head. I've had better luck cleaning hard floors with a cheap little Bissell stick vac. Using the combo head on carpet is just unreasonable. No matter what suction you have it on it is a nightmare to push, and it's hard to lift the head to drag since the suction makes it adhere to carpet. It also plows everything on carpets since it produces such a ridiculous seal. Picking up pet or human hair? It'll get 3/4 of the hair and embed the rest in the pile of the carpet or bunch the hair up into a ball. Buying a $129 Miele Turbo head or a $30 knockoff turbo head makes it much more practical for carpets, but after spending roughly $400 on a vacuum I feel like one shouldn't have to spend more and deal with a turbo head that gets clogged with anything larger than salt.
Incredibly well built vacuum for the price, incredible section (I can only describe the suction as violent), not made in China, and one does not have to deal with dirty dust bins if dust bothers them. Aftermarket bags are cheap as well, but the combo head makes it such a disappointment for the average US consumer given how much we love carpet.
I'd be very disappointed and borderline angry if I spent this much on a vacuum that doesn't do anything excellently. Luckily I bought mine brand new for $60 and I'm a vacuum nerd; so I enjoy the novelty of it. I will definitely steer my customers to models with the power nozzle.
can this vacuum used to blow?
No it cannot
You want the classic and not the pure suction. The classic is made in Germany VS China. Just got one yesterday
Link for Germany model? Thanks
i got the german one and the suction is so strong it doesnt let you glide through carpet.
@@rainerrain9689 any classic model c1 is german. Compact c1 is chinese
@@SkylineFinesse Thanks.
Could you make one video please how to open this vacuum to clean the motor. Whole CZcams I couldn’t found any video in this model.

Does he have a fruit fly issue?? So distracting LOL
