- Fishing the beautiful Lancaster Canal, I go on a trip down Memory Lane.
I use a rod and a sensitive waggler float to catch hybrids (bream x roach), perch and roach. feeding red maggots and fishing red maggots on the hook. I have a wonderful day's fishing, sat in the countryside.

Hiya Mark i really enjoyed watching you fishing on the lanky i also used to fish those winter league matches in the mid seventies to early eighties i also remember turning up to find they were abandoned because the canal was frozen.i also remember the thousand plus matches in the summers like the bass Charrington and the Lancashire evening Post very happy days.tight lines everybody

good video , Mark! although I tend to favour the evenings at this time of the year! its strange how different the lancy and LL are! my end is chocca with Roach, skimmers and Perch, but strangely I rarely catch hybrids, and I think you only had 1 perch? did some fly fishing for perch recently, some fun with tiddlers but its not a vid until I get a bigger one! 😂 tight lines, Dave👍👍

Godd vid, fished the canal since mid 80s. Your spot on about bloodvorm and Tommy Ruffe.. i remember matches being won with 3lb of small fish, maybe an eel. Size 26 hooks and bloodworm.
Dont know if you ever fished the northern stretches? Once was some of the best Tench fishing, sadly no more.
Good times 👍 I fished around Burton services long time ago and caught tench and grass carp! Sad that they’ve gone now

Hi Mark, really enjoyed this video and have started fishing my local canal, could you please do a video showing the type and model of your action camera and mic.you use as I think the quality of your videos is excellent and would like to give it a go,not to put on CZcams but just to show my mates when we meet up and discuss our fishing trips.

Hi Graham, thank you very much. I hope that you are enjoying canal fishing and catching plenty. I can tell you the camera that I use: The action camera that I use is chest mounted and is an Akaso 7 - cheaper than Go Pros (link in description). I use the inbuilt mic for this as I found attaching a plug-in mic actually caused 'rustling' on the footage, so I ditched it. I also use my iphone for the handheld footage, the 'background camera, and the one I often talk into is an Olympus 'Tough' Stylus camera, which is waterproof (and quite old now). I hope that this helps. I will try to post some set up pics in the Community Tab of the channel in the near future. I edit the footage in Filmora 13 software.
