- Good news for all Digitakt owners. The much beloved Elektron machine just got a massive OS update to further future proof it and bring it one step closer to its big brothers like the Octatrack or Analog Rytm. The Digitakt now features 4 distinct software sampling programms (Machines) that allow you to handle samples in different ways like oneshots, slicing, warping and repitching.

I've seen other videos explaining the new "machines", but none of them really explained why you might or might not use each one, so thanks a lot for doing that, it all makes a lot more sense now!

And don't forget to use the keyboard fold to have access to more slices + specifying recording length to grab loops from external samples easily :)

I never owned or even used an Elektron product, but they do look interesting. Can an Octratrack MK2 with the latest OS do all this here, too?
It’s even more capable. The timewarping sounds a lot better and consistent with less artifacts, and you can edit individual slices in length and position. Digitakt is „only“ capable of doing even slices, which is a already a big leap forward for it!

It seems to be out of stock on the Elektron Website too. Most likely they‘re already working on a restock.

Why give us a slicing option if you can’t slice exactly where you want it to? I honestly can’t wait to sell mine to get a mpc. I honestly think it’s very great in one shots. Other than that I wouldn’t really use it for anything else.
They will give more options in future updates along with UPdated price...

Better to give free increments of the firmware that still fits in the existing specs of the Device than producing a new box you have to buy. But eventuelly they should take a bigger step as the slice mode on the Digitakt is somewhat crippled. No way to set arbitrary start points are a bit too limiting for being a slice mode. But its better than nothing for some.
Awful for the price.
