Oh dear, it seems that I own a Digitakt but I have no clue how to use it! This was brilliant!!!
I know exactly what you mean. This man can help.
Yeah same
Same here
I've only seen one in person and I was like, dang show me how to use this thing, and the homey was like " I dont really know how".
Im able to use mine but it takes so much energy and eye ache sampling and the process never feels complete as I keep wanting to add more. I guess I need the perfect sample selection for the styles I make and complete It. To be free and start making music with my new sounds. That’s why I prefer synths as they just have everything on there to design a sound. The a4 DN and MC are my favourites. Awaiting to get a ST too. When I’ve saved enough pennies haha. 😊
Damn I've never taken my digitakt sound explorations that deep before. Thats brilliant stuff man!
I stumbled upon this technique not too long ago and it works really well. I added trigs to every step but the difference was I reduced the track chance probability to add in the gaps. That way sometimes I got 16th notes, other times 8th or even quarter notes.
Regarding setting the LFO depth, what helps me is using the square wave first which goes between the min and max and if I know what the min and max sound like it's easy to adjust it. Once set, then change to random waveform.
That square wave trick's a good one, thanks for sharing!
@@ansgar-kruetzmann share the love, share the knowledge right? 😄
thanks for the tips!
@@EZBOT_ of course! These boxes are endless learning opportunities.
wow that's a really good idea
Dude, I am sitting here realizing I have been seriously underutilizing my digitakt lol. Great vid Matthew keep it up!
That was dope. I consider myself quite proficient on Elektron machines but you are always able to introduce me to great new ways to experiment. Appreciate your work!
I cannot believe how much fun stuff you're able to squeeze out of the Elektron gear. Magnificent!
wow, i can't express how much this is really appreciated
a lot of digitakt techniques can be one-dimensional and only work in certain instances but this opens up so many melodic and rhythmic possibilites
you rule
Unreal workflow idea here Matt. Super inspiring as always
Thanks Matthew. Superb content as always ❤ cant wait to get this going
Every time I watch a Digitakt video, I find another feature that is incredibly useful that I have never heard of. Clearly I need to RTFM, but EZBOT videos are always a great way to learn these little tidbits :)
Great video Matthew! What a great idea for melodic creations!
Oh man, your creativity is so inspiring!
This is a great idea and a great video buddy! Really digging this
Great idea! Thank you so much for coming up with such great techniques and sharing them with us!
loved this, took me a few rewatches but learned so much. thank you.
This is mind blowing in such a simplified way. I always wanted to do this but couldn’t put my mind around it. Thanks for this!
Good stuff EZ! Especially liked the end with the re-pitch and warp👍
Dude you’re a legend. Some killer tips in here and i liked seeing how you move on the DT. Didn’t realize i could clear efx on each trk too.
Thank you for sharing.
The constant reinvention of the Digitakt is why it’s one of my favourite boxes!
I tried routing this into my Morphagene (a SOS module) and…. Just wow.
Fabulous! Thank you Matthew!🙏🏼❤️
Godammit. I can't believe how much you can squeeze from this little thing. Thanks Matthew.
Excellent video Matt!! This is an amazing method to essentially turn the Digitakt into a granular synth. Bravo!
Another killer tip that opens up all kinds of potential ideas. Thanks for sharing!
You are such a legend! Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks ezbot! Great tips, nice tunes and yet another incredible way to squeeze more out of the digitakt. Best box I’ve ever owned.
Holy Molly. That is Great. Thank you for Sharing and all the best from Switzerland
Most inspirational video with the Digitakt I have seen in a long time. My DT is getting 6 years old and it still surprises me what things one can come up with with each firmware update!
Oh man that was Bliss Brilliant and Beautiful sounding.
Ez boy you inspire so many Elektron users to rethink all the time with their boxes, as You keep the desire burning each time with your lessons and tuts
Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏
Nice one 👍 man can really see the influence trackers had/have on the crew at Electron! 🙂
Wonderful breakdown Matt! DT for the win! ;)
Love this! Thanks much for the video.
Ohhh!! Another great one!!! I will try tonight.. sounding so inspiring! 🙏 many thanks for that!
This was so enlightening and smooth. Thank you! Special shout out to the vector scope logo animation. Big up!
Wow, Matthew, you just cracked open my head and my Digitakt! My once favorite machine is now my most favoritist machine!
Pretty cool it’s definitely a modular vibe
That was so great, really showing what the Digitakt can do - randomness aside being able to create some chords from layering+resampling is so nice. Would be keen to see what your settings for the delay and reverb were too if there is anything special there :)
Stunning love it 👏🏻
Well now I know what I’m doing this morning. Thanks so much for this, dude, so inspiring.
Excellent - thank you for such an inspirational idea
Pretty cool technique 🔥 Gonna have to go try this now
Just Amazing, great tips, thank you
Geez. 🤯I can’t wait to put this into practice. Thanks!
I'm upset that I still haven't been able to grasp this device's complexity. Amazing display of its capabilities. Quite inspiring ❤
Thanks Matthew. Good inspiration!
Greetings from Hamburg 😎
Amazing inspirational video! thanks!
Thanks for this. I’ve hit a wall with the digitakt lately this is the spark I needed
OMG you're awesome!!!! Cheers I can't wait to try that on my Digi !
thanks man. didn’t get this far with the single cycles myself. great ideas
Thank you for an amazing tutorial! 🤩
I had one those “why didn’t I think of doing that before “ moments can’t wait to try this out, did a similar experiment on DN which worked well for ambient played really slow. Also will try adding LfO to sample slot too and load lots of CCW’s hours of fun. Thanks again ❤
Great stuff. Thanks!
You made it sound like a granular pedal. Nice!
A-MA-ZING ! Can't wait to try that on drums too...
This is inspired! Thank you!
Wow! amazing trick! THANK YOU!
The Digitakt is such a magic box. Literally a dream playground for musicians. It is damn near perfect… 😊
ye who would ever want more than 64mb of RAM, in 2023! /s
@@Tapepusher I did say “damn near perfect” hahaha
Let's just hope you know a musician from a self-proclaimed musician.
@@robertlouismccrory3364 I can definitely tell the difference between a musician and a troll!
@@TriangleWaveRecords Well, I guess I have to spell out EXACTLY what I mean regarding a box making melodies, due to someone being a bit self-conscious, and perhaps unable to read between the line.
You stated the idea of the Digitakt 'melody maker' being a 'magic box' -I highly disagree btw. My comment was towards all the tools such as AI VSTs, and now features like this on hardware.
My comment was meant to say that I hope YOU can tell the difference between listening to a real musician, as opposed to someone who uses a host of AI tools -and weather or not you could call them a musician?
In other words, will people be able know the difference between a human or AI based made piece of work. Furthermore, if people are using AI extensively, to make popular music, are they "musicians" -as I'm sure they will be calling themselves 'musicians'?
If Ai keeps growing, we're all going to be asking ourselves the comment I wrote if AI based music becomes a norm in some music spheres.
Great vid! I just got the Retrokits RK-002 for polyphony on the Digitakt, gonna see how I can incorporate it with some of the tricks here. Again, really great tutorial.
Wow insane trick! Thanks a lot for sharing
Thank you. I will be playing with this golden nugget.
JUST AMAZING !
Thanks so much
very useful video , thanks
Always great ! thanks !
this is definitely a cool technique,
a track is coming based on this one for sure!
great work
very inspinring!! thanks!!
Honestly: one of your best videos!
Not JUST for Digitakt owners too
Thanks homie! I hope you are doing very well my friend ❤️
on the back of this i've contacted you for lessons. This is real good stuff, respect..
Awesome! Looking forward to it
Great video, thanks! 😊
Great video
Cool video. I’m really basic when it comes to the digitakt. This video blows my mind.
I love ambient music, this is stunning and clever, thank you! I'll be trying this out with the Digitakt and it gives me ideas for the Digitone too. I'd love to see how you would do something similar on the Hapax controlling the Ditatakt and Digitone for ambient, it would be insane!
Sounds rad!
Bought a syntakt a couple months ago, sent it back cos I wasn’t a fan of the sounds it offered - but this is inspiring af and it makes it hard for me to resist the urge to go for the Digitakt 2 😅
Just get it !
wuawuawywa... i mean... i think i will buy 100 digitakts now and 10 Liters of LSD and THAT will be the ultimate jam session
:) thanks bruh , absolutely fantastic and inspiring tips
Haha awesome
Great vid ez. 🤘
Such a many possibilities just with one Elektron machine! That’s why Elektron is must have for any producer 😎
Dude, this is 🔥
Very neat! For some reason I never think to resample the Digitakt, probably because it goes to mono, but this gives me the courage to do it. I am going to try this but slow and pitch it right down to get some drone/ambient vibes.
How’s this for idea? Sample the random melody in twice (resulting in 2 separate and random sequences) and then hard pan them left and right in 2 different tracks?
You help to make the Digitakt less daunting, as erudite as you are in showing its potential.
Gorgeous
Brilliant!
Thank you
This is an old octatrack thing but now the digitakt has slice you can enjoy a bit of octatrack workflow
Yep! Exactly
can get some nice loops with randomized locks, too. you can even p lock the LFO depth for certain steps for variety
It’s a great technique to learn. I have been trying to recreate ‘playing robots into heaven’ I don’t need to as you have just demonstrated a far better way. Thanks 🙏
wow bro nice tune
Brilliant!!! ❤
I’ve been on the fence about getting into elektron gear but I don’t know which one would work best for me. Great vid. Pulling me closer to the digitakt
The DT was my gateway drug into Elektron world. Be warned!!
Amazing
You sir are a badass. Bravo.
Amazing!!
amazing
I have no idea what you are saying.... but i like it
OMG THIS IS A GEM!
Thank you.
Great great :) Thanks
Fantastic.
Amazing 🤩😍
Ohhh this is great!. 🤟
