    I weigh 95 pounds and always thought that if I ever learned how to train, that I should train ponies because there are a lot of not well trained ponies out there because most trainers are too big. The more I think about it, the more I think there may be an opening in the market for this kind of thing. There arent a lot of 100 pound adults in this country, let alone 100 pound horse trainers, I imagine.

      missanna208802 Yes; unfortunately ponies get a bad name. Because the majority aren’t trained properly & then they can develop behavioural issues around children. I’d say there’d be a great market for training them... but not many trainers would put their hand up for the job, due to the size factor.

    The saddest time when keeping a horse is to see him die before your eyes ,, befriending a horse is happier than a human

Also he’s the same way when being ridden he won’t move forward when asked … he does fine first 15-20 minutes then refuses to do what he’s told… that’s why I try lunging but he won’t even do that can someone help ! Shes so relaxed , like seen it all before . What would you do if she flighty at stick with flag on her back & body ?

  • @payntpot7623
    @payntpot7623 Před 5 lety +5

    Should make a nice pony. I was interested to note you used the flag on her belly, where the rider's legs would be to get her to move forward, rather than from behind the rump as many people do.

    I like this method of training but the only thing that would be worried about is when you got on her

      I use them to desensitise. Horses are flight animals & can be scared & overreact to sound, movement & objects. You can’t train a scared horse.

    What kind of bit and size of bit, please

    • @reallifehorsemanship4333
      @reallifehorsemanship4333  Před 3 lety +1

      I don’t usually train ponies so I don’t own a small enough Bit. I like to work with a basic two piece snaffle but if a horse is really mouthy on the Bit then I might use a Myler Bit that has a centre roller.

    Oh I didn’t know you where gonna sit on her back. You can use sandbags and follow while using the reins, or you could do voice commands with sandbags. Just please don’t ride it anymore after this 😁

    I will tell you. This is not the first time this pony has been trained. Try teaching one to run in circles in the corral when all it wants to do is is pivot its front feet around you
