I really like the brass circle effect. I would also like the back of the bullet sunk in. It would be hard to have it sunk in enough that the primer is flush with the wood!
This short was enough for me to subscribe. Ive seen cross hafts before but never brass inserts from spent shells added. Its a genius way to use up the spare brass and give an added flare to something already beautiful. If you're like me you never let good metals go to waste. Well done!
I agree.. i came accross this video just now for the 1st time...and there's ABSOLUTELY nothing to be said... I AM UTTERLY AND COMPLETELY SPEECHLESS❤ AMAZING !!
Man that is a beautiful handle and craftsmanship. Knowing my grandpa, he would try to steal that handle based on aesthetics and beauty alone. Like damn beautiful.

The most gorgeous ace I’ve ever seen by far. People would pay hundreds of dollars for this peice of art just to literally hang on a wall bro! Keep it up!
Only a truely beautiful mind can create such a beautiful piece of equipment..THIS IS THE REAL MEANING OF "ART-WORK"... A PIECE OF ART YOU CAN WORK WITH !!!❤😂😂😂
It's actually so beautiful how... Holy? The brass casings inlaid end up looking. I'm so taken in by this cross wedge and the metal halos just give it such an incredible look....
I chose to undercut a lip a 1/4" below the top edge of my favorite axe. I did the same with the handle and then poured antimony. I also added a traditional wedge. Been going strong for nearly 30 yrs now. I don't use it much anymore but back in the day it split countless chords of wood. It's as tight today as when I first did it. Makes me wonder why it's not a common technique.
WOW, that was pretty COOL, very creative. He made a little piece of ART while doing something that is normally just PLAIN and PRACTICAL and not PRETTY.😯😉👍😁
Very, very cool 👍 Myself, I was thinkin' that I would have cut the brass shells down and would have driven them in with the bottom of them flush, the large one in the center and the small one just above the larger one. That's the way my mind pictured it....😮😊. Y'all do beautiful work with your craftsmanship. Thank you for showing it to the world. 😮❤😊
Ok, that’s PHOOKIN AWESOME!!! Now, try this (cause I’mma-gonna)… Set and finish the axe eye, ‘then’ set the brass/shell keeper; however, ‘this time’ leave the cartridge base and avoid damaging the head-stamping of the cartridge.
While it looks beautiful, generally epoxy and glue are a big NO when hanging an axe as the wood will move but the adhesives will not. It’s much better practice to use lindseed oil as the wood will absorb it and create a friction fit and if needed can be pounded deeper or allowed to soak in more oil later to keep the hang tight.
never epoxy an ax head to a handle. If you break the handle you will never get the head off. The friction of the wedges will be more than adequate. Brass was a beautiful touch.
What you did at the end was beautiful, the only critique I have and this is my opinion. But I would like to see just a little less space underneath that axe head. The wooden neck below the ax-head is a little too long for my liking, perhaps keep the same design but have it snugged up against the Adam's apple of the neck if you will. Hundred percent not the right terms but it's what it looks like to me LOL.
That is awesome, I have a few good axe heads that are 75 to over 100 years old and of a quality that is just not seen in today's axes, I would really love to get you to put handles on them, sure, I can get handles at about any hardware store but I think that they deserve the quality that I see in this video
Putting the epoxy in the ax head isn’t necessary for retention and will make it exceedingly more difficult the next time you have to replace the handle. Otherwise it’s a nice artistic touch.

What kind of wood is that??
You shouldn’t need to use wood glue or epoxy. Nice work. Thank you for sharing.
This adds +10 holy damage and +5% bonus damage to undead.

no it's not, this isn't how you hang an axe handle... poor quality
that is one beautiful handle, good job. I wish I had one on each of my four axes.

Indeed, op
Your grandpa would look at it and tell you the grain is in the worst possible orientation for an axe handle, but it is pretty.
My mouth was literally open. Absolute functional art
Thank you so much🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏🙏
I don't think I'll use such beauty to do anything... Definitely not chopping wood with it on the off chance it breaks
Thank you, we did it for collection and display, so we don't wanna use it as well.😅🙏🙏🥰🥰
The brass did nothing but add decoration because whether it's flat of found, it's supposed to be a wedge.
Yeah it looks beautiful. Good craftsmanship. Didn't have to do it but he did
🥰🥰🙏🙏
No amount of epoxy will hold that head on without a proper and extreme tight fit.
Thank you for your comment.
I told him that a couple months ago where he did it the same way. He just says “thanks for watching”…lol
@@KimballPrecisionRifles Thank you for comment.
Honestly never would have thought to use excess brass as inlay, really clever and looks great!
Thank you🙏😊
Looks great with the case head flush so you can read 9mm.
Are you sure you’ve secured it enough? Doesn’t it need more wedges?
Now that was special ! Great job !
Thank you🙏🥰
