The Philadelphia 76ers Must Be Creative w/Their Cap Space: 2024 Free Agency/Offseason Series - Ep 12

  • This is going to be an extremely consequential offseason for the Sixers. With James Harden not working out, the 76ers pivoted to maximizing their cap space this summer to reshape the roster around Joel Embiid. The only other player guaranteed to return is Tyrese Maxey, who is set to sign a maximum contract with them this summer. Because of his upcoming raise, the Sixers have this summer as their only window to have the flexibility to pursue upgrades in free agency or trades. They are projected to have between $57-65 million, which is enough to sign or absorb anybody. They also can trade up to 5 first-round picks in a trade. They’ve already been linked to just about every big name like Paul George, Jimmy Butler, and Brandon Ingram. In this video, I’ll run a couple projections where the Sixers can get these types of players and show how they can fill the rest of the roster out.

    Incomplete roster changes 🤦🏽‍♂️. That’s so stupid! Thanks for the education

    Sixers still need a good back up center and size 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯

    • @YossiGozlanNBA
      @YossiGozlanNBA  Před 22 dny

      They'll probably try to get one for the minimum. It doesn't make since to prioritize one with more spending power when they have Embiid playing 40+ minutes a night.

    Good work!! Could you try a scenario without an all star player? One with some good players trades and free agents? And i would love a scenario with Markkanen or Bridges... a great contract player

    • @thinkb4uspeak643
      @thinkb4uspeak643 Před 27 dny +1

      Markkanen or bridge would be the dream trade scenario for us ,either of those 2 guys would be great but I'd put mikal bridges at our first priority he is the missing piece imo

      If we get more intel later on who the Sixers can actually get then I could do another video on them. But I doubt Markkanen and Bridges are available.

      I'm glad you're enjoying my work! And yes I like that roster build way more. Having a smaller tier max player like Brandon Ingram instead of PG/Jimmy makes a huge difference.

    They could go over in the luxury tax like the Clippers, Warriors, and Bucks. The clippers payroll was way over 200 million

    Why would they trade for Deni????? 2 FRPs is absurd. Kispert is available for one FRP at 5.7m

    • @YossiGozlanNBA
      @YossiGozlanNBA  Před 21 dnem

      Kispert would be a nice role player but if they're getting a max player like Paul George, I think they'd need a defensive minded forward like Deni at his price range.

    Bro how didnt you include drummond in your equation?? Were in desperate need of a back up center

    • @YossiGozlanNBA
      @YossiGozlanNBA  Před 26 dny

      I forgot to mention him as a possibility of being signed with a portion of the room MLE if they can't get Oubre or a good wing with it. But I get the feeling they'll only seek backup centers for the minimum.

    Say the sixers sign paul George is it possible for them to trade for cam Johnson if they send p reed/picks to the nets.. I like finney smith but I think nets value him more because of contract while Johnson has been injury prone/higher contract lmk thank you.. idk if it’s possible to trade for 23m while bringing in George / extending maxey

    • @YossiGozlanNBA
      @YossiGozlanNBA  Před 25 dny

      If they get PG at his full max, their best shot at trading for Cam Johnson afterward is by sign-and-trading one of Tobias/Melton/Hield with their remaining $15Mish in cap space, and sign and trading KJ Martin at like a $14M starting salary. But I don’t think the Nets are moving Cam unless it’s a bigger deal that gets them an All Star.

      @@YossiGozlanNBA if malik monk walks in free agency to orlando i feel like melton is an obvious replacement as they need defense that seems like a real sign and trade option melton signs for more then non tax payer and sixers get trey lyles (would prefer him way more) or sasha vezenkov two forwards that fit well next to trio of embiid/george/maxey

    • @YossiGozlanNBA
      @YossiGozlanNBA  Před 22 dny

      @@Romp_2.0 That seems like a worst case scenario for the Sixers if they have to take back Vezenkov or Lyles because they probably struck out on every one in free agency and just need expiring salaries for future trades. They'd probably be doing the Kings a favor in that regard, in my Kings video I discussed how they probably want to get off the contracts of Vezenkon, Duarte, and maybe Davion as well. czcams.com/video/niUKy4ptp70/video.html
