Great info but out of all cards that have an intro bonus the Venture X is probably the one you should directly apply for because that starting intro can be huge lol
I personally would not upgrade, but go for the Capital One Venture X on its own. The sign up bonus is huge.
Your approach, to that specifically, may be better for a person with a pretty good, but not high credit score.

This actually worked. I always used to wait 6 months. I just got a new quicksilver card about 6 weeks ago with an $8000 limit. Just did this and got bumped to a $13000 limit.

Yes your credit scores had to be over 700.
Yeah, credit score around 750, and at that time I think there was maybe 2 hard inquiries

How high was your balabce on the current card you were asking for the CLI? Does that matter?
Do you let the balance report or go beyond closing date and then pay the balance off or do you pay off the balance BEFORE the closing date?

Okay, that sounds good, and why I'm watching. I worked hard to get a good score and I'm on my second card from this company, and pay them 6 times what they ask per month, but my card limit has not increased.
To me, it's obvious I can pay more, not in collections, excellent payment record, so my limit should be higher.
My 1st cap one card I use for my phone bill just to show activity every month is capped at $750. Would you go for trying to raise the limit first? (I have another cap one card w $8,000 limit, as leverage. Or should I try to change it to a savor card first, then raise the limit? Thank you, big fan of your videos. Just reminder that most credit card companies wanted to increase peoples credit limit THEIR way. One of the captial one staff told me my spending was too low for my savor one since my CL is 8% and they told me I have to spend 15%-20% of my CL of 2000 dollars.

Thank you for this video! I request for a limit right before the statement balance closed went from $300 to $1800. TIP: I made sure the balance was low before asking for an increase and I also used the chatbox to start the limit increase request.

my capitol one CC didn't ask me those questions. It asked me for my monthly spending, rent and income. It automatacly gave me a $500 increase. Bumped me up to $6,500. Any recomendations on what to put on it next time and when to request another increase? I did the exact same thing for my Venture cards and they said they would notify me in 2-3 buisness days

Why would you product change to the venture x ? That’s at minimum a $750 loss or even a $1500 loss with the missed signup bonus.
Just tried to do a credit limit increase through the app and it doesn’t even give you an option as to what limit you want. I put in my info and it gave the the option to take what they offered or not…

I am bucketed by Capitalone, they keep tell me I have not been using my cards enough, and had my cards over 15 years.
Capital one sucks with credit increases. I’ve had them for over 8yrs when I was building my credit, after several years with little to NO increase, standing at $1500 are you kidding me.
I’ve had my chase card for 6months with a $8000 credit limit and was just increased to $16,000 after I purchased my house.
Then I got approved for several chase cards with a $20,000 credit limits. In addition, I have a checking and savings account with them.
The same here. No matter what I do in good standing with Cap1 they will never increased my limit. Been with them for almost 6 years.

For 19 years never missed a payment balance paid in full and have been capped out at 18k for the last 3 attempts of a credit line increase.
I wasn't really trying but I paid off my account within 3 months and I got an increase without asking. I was shocked

I have had a Platinum from CO for many years. Unfortunately, I was "bucketed" because I did not pay off balances every statement period. However, I got my act together and started paying off balances every statement period.
I was recently UPGRADED to the Quick Silver no AF/same CL. I attempted a CLI today and received $100 CLI. I guess it is better than nothing. I will try for more CLI over the next few months(6mo)

Capital one are so weird....they won't increase my limit when I request but all over sudden they will randomly do it once I give up. They offered me an upgrade from Platinum to Quicksilver

Capital one is sooooo trash!!! I have a fico of 780, total available credit of 100k+ across 4 cards. My quick silver $5750 I have the card for 9 years, never late zero balance. They keep denying my CLI saying my balance Olin my card is low and not enough activity. Capital is the worst.

least you got something ive been with them 3 years and they have only raised once after the first year but i max it out and pay it off like 3 times a month they always hit me with "your limit is as high as your credit score will allow" i fucked it up by saying i was a 1099 self employed and thats where it ended for me like an idiot.
I increased mine today from $750 to $2287. I'm retired tho. If you use the CO app and manually put in your numbers it might go through.

This actually worked. They gave me instant increase. I have 2 cards a Quick Silver card they added $3,000 which put me at a new $23,000 credit limit. They Also gave me a $10,000 credit limit increase on my Capital One Neiman Marcus store card which put me at a new credit limit of $20,000. Thanks for the advice

I got mine this is the first time actually building my credit. I started @$600 around Oct/Nov they increased it this week to $1600

I would request after 6 months and then every month thereafter since it's only a soft credit pull.

I had that card for same amount of time maybe a few months more and just called a couple months back they said I was eligible for an upgrade to the QS no annual fee with no harm to my credit. My advice maybe call and see if your eligible for a product change.

tried for a CLI on my QS, but no dice. However, i've only had the card for 5 mths. i'll try em again in a few mths.
I was able to upgrade from the platinum to the quicksilver in less than 6 months of starting the card. But before that I got a credit limit increase. However, I paid the card off in full each month and paid off other debt during that time. I feel like it depends on the person situation on if you get an increase.

Cash should be your emergency money..
Credits cards will wreck people with no financial discipline... save your money you don't need everything..
Pay your credit cards in full each month.. never fees or interest and credit cards MAKE you money. Cash sitting in a drawer won’t make you 1-5% cash back (nevermind other cash and points bonuses).
My credit increase application does not look like this and does not ask these questions.

This advice on this video forgets one huge caveat with Capital One. Getting a limit increase from Capital One depends on what bucket Capital One puts you in. Capital One has 3 buckets or tiers. If you are in that lower tier bucket, like getting approved initially for $500-1000, you will not be getting an increase no matter your spend pattern or how many times you ask for an increase. This guy has a higher tier card.
Idk.. I started with a $300 limit. It was first card and line of credit. Never missed any payments and increased my credit from 640-720. It isn’t a lot but my limit for that card is now 3k
my shit went from 300 to 500 after a year and nothing more with a 700 score lol there on some bullshit or i fucked up saying i was 1099

This wasn’t true for me. I started LOW maybe even lower than 500 and if I remember right it was secured. I eventually got it unsecured and they gradually increased it. Now I have 7k in credit between my now TWO capital one accounts 🥰 like this guy is saying I’ve been and will continue to ask for increases. But this time they gave me the increase before I even asked lol I was gonna ask in august (when it’ll have been 6 months) and they gave me an increase this month (may)
When you say manual credit line increase request, do you mean you mail in the request to them?

@@calbarton Oh ok.. i had the capital one platinum and was offered to upgrade to the quicksilver for good credit that i sadly upgraded instead of seeing if i was preapproved and i accepted without the knowledge i know now and had a limit of $300 just today i asked for an increse and was only offered a $100 increase, never defaulted and always pay in full before closing date.. hopefully im not in some sort of bucket being that its the Cap1 QS for good credit. I alsonwas just approved for the cap1 walmart rewards mastercard with $3000 limit so im confused how they refuse to inscrease my credit limit to $1000 or more yet they quickly approve me for the Cap1 WM rewards mastercard with $3000. I have also learned that they stricktly use Equifax for increases and no other bureau which is annoying.
They declined my CLI I am in the deadbeat bucket and they won't let me out. I have a 760 FICO, 740 and 750..... the 3. But Cap One said I don't use the card enough so they declined. I really don't want to use them often since it's high interest and low CL. Oh well.

Interesting! I though you had to use this card all the time to get an increase on it. I pay my card off or down to almost nothing each month. So put 30% as how much I am going to use on my card. Sounds like a responsible answer. I have two of these cards by the way. They upgraded my Platume card to a quicksilver this year right at the same time I applied for one.
