Hi Chris, Just a quick tip. I would blow the air/water the opposite way. Since air flows toward the motor, I would blow everything backwork toward the front of the car as to not push debris further into the radiator fins. It may also help to add a screen on the bottom to prevent the larger items from entering into that space. Hope this helps everybody. Thanks for all of the great videos.
I was thinking the same thing.
Another great upload Chris. I like this product not just for cleaning out the debris in the radiator, but I like to show my Vette and this will come handy in the engine bay where little bits of gravel and other road debris items can gather, which one can see, but are very difficult to get to with a vacuum or my air compressor hose with just an air nozzle attached. Save the Wave.
just cleaned mine out last week while adding my external transmission cooler, these tools would have been so handy!!!! ill for sure be looking into them for future maintenance...thanks!!!!
Awesome tools, I’ll be looking at those 2. Thanks Chris 👍
Thanks chris ordered mine last night it's on the way needed that tool set
Glad you found those tools. Gonna get some.
Thanks Chris, this will be a good spring cleaning idea for next year! Also, I'm jealous of your garage floor... I did a ceramic coating this year with the flakes but didn't bother to purchase the clear coat as a secondary layer, that was a mistake.
Great info. Chris, thank you very much.
Hey chris got mine will try them on my Corvette and my buddy thanks again for the tip
Heck yes I’m in Gilbert AZ 👌🏻 looking to get a C5 next year
Thanks Chris. It looks like those wands could work on most vehicles with hard to reach areas. Nice running temperature on your vette, with everything on and all that humidity out there.
Great video. Thanks for the info. 👍🏾💯
GREAT TOOLS TO USE.
I looked up the name of this on internet. Company is lockNlube and product is radiator genie. I'm going to try this. THX, Dana 2003 Z06 headers, cam,ColdAirIntake
Thanks for the video … but also thanks to the guys that caught which is the better direction to blow the debris. I was scratching my head for a bit wondering why it was being blown with the normal direction of airflow
I took my radiator and a/c condensor completely out of the car and pressure washed both of them and flushed the coolant and put a 160° thermostat in and it consistantly runs about 180-190 even on hot days
I use a tube of 1/2 inch pvc with a cap on the bottom house connection with a ball value on top drilled 2 small holes near the bottom and it fits perfect very good at cleaning
Just make sure you don’t screw up the fins I do refrigeration and air-conditioning clean a lot of condensers so make sure your fins when you’re blowing out your condenser or your radiator. Don’t bend the wrong way you have to be careful.
So i bought my corvette last summer, and i wanted to clean my radiator out using this method, turns out they previous owner installed a dewitts radiator. i was planning on buying one too. money well saved.
I blew mine towards the front, and oh my God the amount of dirt and debris that came out is amazing😱
I pulled my Radiator to clean it and man after cleaning it the radiators are too small so i bought a all aluminum 2 row for about 300 dollars, best investment you can get for the summers here in central California it gets in the 100s in the summer. twice the cooling my vette never ran this cool before.best investment for a C5 I also fitted a screen underneath to keep the new radiator clear of debris
NICE
I have the same, got them from tractor supply, they work for a while, I use to clean my tractors/4x4 and they do not last
Update: hey Chris I forgot to mention, be careful with the AIR hook up, the long rod can come off and project like a rocket, my wife was using it to clean something and dropped it on the concrete and it came off, I put it back on, but supplying air made it shoot across the shop, I had to gorilla tape it to the handle, so be careful !
Check that off the list! Good to see things are fully coming together for the vehicle. Reach out as I would love to do your car and have it up on my channel. Best wishes to the family sir, as always! Your friend from SoapBox Detailing of Arizona. Take care Chris and thanks for the continued coverage on the car and events.
Probably in November once I get my new fenders and paint done.
@@mycorvettelife - it will be even cooler anyways! Mark you calendar if you wish to meet - will be in the show at Midway Chevrolet Nov 9th!; Corvettes on the Midway. Should be there with my collector series grand sport. cars, food, etc

However you have more room to avoid bending the cooling fins is how to remove the debris, from the back of the radiator is the normal way I think.
Have you thought about getting rear widebody kit rear fenders?
What were your before and after temps?
What front splitter and side skirt extensions do you have?
Chris, I'm new to your videos. What exhaust are you running, it sounds amazing?
Chris, I noticed some sort of a shield in the rear fender weld to keep damage off the body. Where did you find that? I wish the C5 aftermarket had come up with some better body protection especially for the front fenders. They did a better job on C6. I bought a set of gravel guards and the backs aren't bad but the fronts are too gaudy looking. Reminds .e of my uncles big mud flashes headon his vehicles years ago!
I think you are referring to my side skirts.
Careful with this procedure. Too much pressure and you will bend the radiator and AC condenser fins, and you will need to replace the radiator. USE LOW PRESSURE ONLY! TIP: jack car up and go from underneath then you don't have to take anything apart.
What kind of exhaust do you have
Nice sounding car, what exhust sytem is that. do you have headers?
Full mods list is in the video description.
Quick question I just cleaned mine with blower and water hose and it seems like I left a lot of water in there should I wait about a day to drive it or should it be fine running it like that
It is fine to drive. It will evaporate and blow out when you drive it. You could also blow out the water with your blower.
Hello my name is Joe I watch a lot of your videos I have a question about what's the best oil to run in your C5 amsoil Royal purple or the mobile one what are your thoughts
If money is no object, Amsoil. Otherwise I use Mobile 1.
Chris I’m having trouble. I’m replacing my radiator on my c5 but have to clean my ac condenser and I can’t find this tool anywhere and I also can find any good info on the forums that’s helpful it would mean so much to get some advice from you or a new link to this tool!
Radiator Genie - Water & Air Cleaning Wands for High Efficiency Cooling Systems and Radiators - Blow Out / Wash Out Kit a.co/d/ayJMFBQ
@@mycorvettelife Thank you!!
Where did you get your ground effect kit ?
C7carbon.com
AC condenser catches most of the crap, it needs to be cleaned too
I was going to say,, if you are not real careful ,, you will be knocked some holes in the condenser and radiator core, plus I would have blown out the debree from the back side instead of the front side.. Good luck everyone.. Them radiators and A/C condensers are not cheap..
The Lock and Lube accessories aren't available anymore...or get a 404 page anyway. Any idea if they are available somewhere?

That's a great tutorial but what if I don't have access to an air compressor like yours?
Water hose.
Buy one
I'm kind of late in the game to find this video but curious what type of temps you were getting before you did this cleaning?
Lock-N-Lube Radiator Genie link doesn't work??????
Wonder how well just the water would do... Don't have an air compressor yet. Was that just a garden hose connection?
Yep
Do you need an air compressor for this to work airside wise? What are my options honestly do not know
Yes
@@mycorvettelife What size/brand you use/recommend? How much do they run typically?
@@SimplyJustRandomness just a compressor. I use one from harbor freight. For stuff like this you don't need to go all out name brand. A compressor is a compressor
Where can I get those long wands

My tired old C5 sprung a leak in the radiator, getting that stuff cleaned out was considerably more expensive.
I'm surprised you didn't try to sue GM for leavea, debris getting in your car???😂
Any thought given to installing an oil cooler?
It’s a good idea if you do any amount of spirited driving or tracking. If you go forced induction it’s highly recommended.
i'd just pull the whole condenser and radiator out, ud be surprise how much crap u get out. but again i have ac vacuum pump
Blow from the back towards the front.
BLEEDCOOLINGSYSTEM?
Damn you really have c6 z06 wheels on base c5 (non wide body)? Looks atrocious, definitely should try to go with a wheel that fits in the fender, looks like a douched out dodge Cummins pickup with wheel spacers...
Good thing it’s not your car, huh?
@@mycorvettelife well I have a c6 z06 so you might understand the frustration..lol
No, I really don’t.
