  • In this video, we take a look at something that may be causing my car to overheat. Also I got a new camera so this was kind of a first test video for it

    Kind of ironic you post this, did the exact same thing to my '00 c5 yesterday, was getting similar temps, haven't had a chance to drive it yet but I'm assuming it should make a difference. Good job on your videos by the way!

    I always blew out my radiator and condenser on my 2000. I just pulled it out to upgrade and guess what? You couldn’t see through it at all! Condenser was full too. If our car is getting hot, the only way to fix it is to pull it and clean it.

    Good stuff man. I've been doing a bit to my '99 coupe as well. Painted my calipers today, going to be tinting everything but my headlights and my windshield soon, seats and steering wheel after. Kinda already done performance wise.

    Good video : ) but the intake opening should not be open. Use a cover etc around it to avoid dirt and dust into the engine. The video is very informative. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work : )

    I was concerned about this too, but I looked into it and corvettes will idle around 225-230. But once you start driving the fans will kick on and they’ll drop as low as 200 so it’s not a big deal.

    Hey there Jamal I have the perfect solution for your hogh temps on your Corvette man! I just bought one myself and I gotta tell you it works great, its the best mod Ive done to my corvette simce Ive owned it Nd it was super easy to do. The mod I purchased is made by the guys over at Sac City Corvettes and it replaces two of the fuses in the fuse bix under the hood and it allows you to cut on your high speed fans ypurseld via remotw control! Yoir car wll never get that hot again! I am also going to install a 160 degree thermostat in the near future! Check out Sac city Corvettes tje aystem is called the v2 or v3 cool it! They have a how to video on you tube as well. I love this set up! Check it out and let me know what you think.

    Friend, next time cover your throttle body so the dirt doesn't go in.

    Get a 160 degree thermostat from hyper tech and the hyper tech computer and set the to turn on at 160 degrees you'll be fine and obviously get a new water pump and new hoses for everything just to be safe

      I agree. I'm going to do all that stuff when it gets cammed

  • @OffRoadRN

    Do yourself a favor and drop a 160 degree thermostat in there. You'll need to reprogram the fan, too. If you're going to cam it, that's the perfect time, since you really REALLY need to have it dyno tuned after the cam swap.

      No , don't do a 160 degree thermostat. This is not a sbc , this an ls1 . these engines were designed to run 210 220 because of the oiling system .

    Did this fix the issue ? Sorry super late 🤪

    • @JamalsGarage
      @JamalsGarage  Před 4 lety

      It helped a bit. The issue ended up being the coolant level being a bit low and maybe air in the system if I remember correctly...
