    Tuomas is a lucky man. To have a singer who can adapt to anything he writes, and to have the talent to write anything he wants to.

      I read once that someone said (not sure if it's true) he said if Floor leaves the band he will disband Nightwish.

      @@justinchristoph3725 I can confirm that. It was in an interview discussing Marco's departure from the band. He said if Floor leaves, he's done. But it wasn't clear if he was trying to say Floor was more important to the band than Marco, or if Floor leaving would be the last straw.

      @@nightwisherr1 Don't come up with singers who master one or two styles. Floor masters ALL styles. I haven't heard a female singer yet who can do the same on the same very high level.

    I heard Shoemaker live earlier this month.. I put my phone away and while i would have loved to get it on video, i do not regret the awe of being fully present in the moment.. it was unbelievable

      As in any concert, the phone should be always away. I take one or two photos to keep as a memory, but I am there to enjoy, not to pretend to be a music director making crappy videos no one is going to watch.

      @@mikatu my first concert was Dream Theater and I took a video and realized it was useless bc all I did was cheer and not hold the phone steady 😆 had a much better time living in the moment!

    Tuomas is a legendary composer. I met him briefly after a concert in my teens and felt such awe standing before someone who could stir such emotion in me. I only wish I'd been in a position to continue pursuing musical studies more diligently when I was younger. Never too late, eh?

    How fortunate our generation is (I'm in my early 40ies) that this amazing singer (best female singer of the 21st century,in my opinion), has met and work together with this uniquely gifted composer. I mean, what a Perfect Combination they are together. Keep going guys

      He's a great songwriter who writes beautiful music, but by far the greatest musical composer of our time? There are so many great composers nowadays, like John Williams, Thomas Bergersen, Hans Zimmer and John Powell who can rival Tuomas in many aspects. Nightwish is a band with many talented people, and while Tuomas lays the foundations, the final product is definitely a team effort

      @@Windaros Agreed but i was only speaking from my heart. As far as I have heard nightwish developed symphonic metal music. This genre of music is new and fresh to me it has been a long time since I have heard good new progressive rock music. Also epica just blows my mind.Thanks for chatting you have a great day

    This is not so much about who is best. It is about generosity, giving credit to another person who has a gift. Being so creative in an almost continuous flow, giving joy to the performing artist as wel as to us, the listeners. ❤️

      There are singers who are better on technique, like Simone Simons and Dianne von Giersbergen, but the most important thing by far is the ability to emotionally connect with an audience. Floor is obviously REALLY good at that, since so many people love her (and some of them a little too much).

      I don't think that the world will really understand what a "metal Mozart" it had until after Tuomas is gone. The Nightwish army knows, but alas the world does not.

      like what, for example?
      Because if we extrapolate that question to "I want" would it be listening to her sing opera? or listen to her sing only gutturals?
      That is why it is incomprehensible when many "fans" shout "they are wasting their voice" and that contrasts with Floor's own opinion when she says that "this album, and some songs, was quite challenging vocally" so that understand with that? that "fans" don't know what they listen to or have "selective" listening and aren't able to understand the "everything" about what Nichtwish presents on stage and on their albums.
      Anyway...

      Johanna, I get your point. Floor was happy to be challenged with the HN songs. But I would also be happy to hear her inspired by beautiful lyrics and wonderful melodies that are less of a challenge and flow easier!

      It would be amazing but the set list is already so tough. Floor is amazing but even the greatest voices can be destroyed on tour if its too intense on her voice, vocal cords are sensitive

      @@LeonGreen77 When i first heard H/N I thought Floor isnt really challenged at all, maybe noise and shoemaker. Then I listened to it again and again and I realized how complex this thing is .... She can sing sustained D6, but this is something else. It is brilliant.

      i absolutely love that string of lyrics, "Come on in, the fire's warm
      , dull the blade and dance some more" like the way they sing it especially is so welcoming and warm. it reaches out to you and encourages you to join along, to hum that sing-songy melody. i second your statement in total :)

    Damn, Floors english is better than mine and I was born and raised here in the US
    Nightwish toured here Philly a few years ago
    less than an hour from my house and
    I had no idea there were even here
    The US music scene sucks

      scott search for floor jansen en henk poort. this is from a dutch tv program. they preform the phantom of the opera song. in my opinion the best phantom song ever. It gives me goosebumps everytime. And i don,t even like that kind of music.

      Watch the first few episodes of this series and you'll get an idea of how is his creative process. He mentions seeing each song as a short film in his mind and he starts hearing in his head the melody that accompanies said story, every instrument.     Obviously the female singers are important for the band, but Tuomas is just as much the critical factor with his brilliant song writing.

      Singer can be replaced.Creator and maker can't.Rest of the band is depending on Tuomas. If Tuomas doesn't write for Nightwish the there is no Nightwish anymore.Simple concept.

      @@jaanahedemaki6993 Yes, sure, I totally agree: Tuomas *is* Nightwish, despite all the attention Floor gets, but they do need an exceptional singer as well. The band didn't work so well with Anette, for example.

      @@OJB42 I'm not part of the "army." I'm not here to judge any Nightwish singer. That's a no go. I don't keep that negativity alive, like many do.As they like to call it an "opinion." Anette was chosen from over 2000 auditions by Nightwish. They wanted her. She wasn't let go because she was a bad singer. Nightwish singers are professionals.They know their strenght and weaknesses. They (Anette and Tarja ) don't deserve all these amateur judges to judge them after years and years they are gone from the band. Nightwish's fanbase online is sad because it's divided by which singer one prefers. That is disrespecting the band because the band chose them all.
      Experts on the comments section sure know what's best for Nightwish and they have a burning need to express their "criticism" whenever an opportunity comes. "Army" also likes to dictate reactions.There are wrong versions of Nightwish songs. 👀 It's quite embarrassing..Contrary to the popular believe Nightwish isn't about the perfect performance. (Tuomas said so and it makes sense since they are humans) I don't care if Anette fucked up some performances and whatnots. She-on her own part-kept my favorite band going for five years and it wasn't an easy job.For that alone she has deserved my respect as a Nightwish singer and that is far more important than some live performances that people are "criticizing" her for. But I respect Nightwish's legacy.

    Nightwish have great melodies but they lack of solos and the old Neoclassical stuff it started after Tarja left just don't get me
    Still listen to Tarja nightwish from time to time
