I think a fair compromise to getting new weapons would to make classes share weapons. Demo must be sick of losing half of his hp every time he sticky jumps.

Yes it is, and the people who say it's OP are joking/making fun of you. It's common sense that a weapon which already deals no self damage would be completely redundant to equip with an equippable that's supposed to reduce the self damage you take.
