What other iconic or infamous moments would you like me to cover?
How did you forget about the Flyers-Red Army game at the spectrum?
@@shanestanton8 I was just focusing on NHL vs NHL competition, but that could make for an awesome topic for a future video!
Minnesota suter and parise.
Ottawa Senators first regular season win in 1991-1992 season and 1927 Stanley Cup champion Ottawa Senators
The save for the pens
Another Iconic moment in hockey is when the Toronto Maple Leafs lost to a Zamboni driver who works for them. I know I made the same comment a while ago but it also applies to this video
“YOU LOST TO A ZAMBONI DRIVER WHO WORKS FOR YOU!”
RIP DangIts😵
@@jppeterson879 I heard a rumor that Steve might be resurrecting the “Hat Picks” and “Dang Its” series on his personal channel but I’m not one hundred percent sure if that’s the case.
@@theWanderersnotebook I would love that. I literally just started liking hockey 2 weeks ago and I love his channel. I’m a canes fan but he still makes me laugh
Honestly that’s the most iconic Hurricane moment besides the 2006 cup.
For the record you can’t lose to them if you don’t even show up. 10 shots is pathetic.
As a Vegas fan I’m glad you touched on our first season. The retiring of #58 was really emotional, having lost a friend in that shooting. That 17/18 team and the cup run that year healed a broken city and captured our hearts in the process.

Thank you
At 12:10 on….just a week short of getting his drivers license, Gretzky wins a Cup too…..😊😊
It's pittsburgh with an H you freakin noob. Get it right. There's a pittsburg Kansas. There's even a pittsburg California, but I am not from pittsburg. I'm from Pittsburgh with an H.
7:59... for the Boston Bruins, honorable mention going to Ray Bourque at Phil Esposito's number retirement ceremony. Bourque was originally assigned 7 (Esposito's old number) and developed the number into his own, and got the blessing of Esposito to keep wearing it after 7 got retired. At the ceremony at hand, Bourque surprised Esposito by taking off his 7 sweater and voluntarily changing his number to 77 to allow Esposito to solely own 7 on the rafters. If you have a chance, check it out... one of the classiest moments in all of sports
For the Oilers, there's also so many iconic pieces of lore from the `06 playoff run. Hemsky's series winner against Detroit, Smyth losing some teeth but coming back and setting up Horcoff for a triple-OT winner, the Pisani OT winner in Game 5 of the Cup Finals. Like with what you said though about Montreal... the building itself became so iconic over its history. Aside from the Forum and Maple Leaf Gardens, there's an argument for Northlands Coliseum a.k.a. Rexall Place being the most storied Canadian NHL arena in history.
Had one of the worst days in a long time today, this video couldn’t come sooner. Thank you brother! ❤
I'm sorry to hear that, but I hope the worst of it is over 🤞 Watching McCarty's incredible goal against the Flyers may also make for a good temporary escape.
@@TwistedWristerHockey ❤️
man watching borje cry in that video i have to look away everytime because i cry so hard watching it
Love the transitions through each team.
One can never talk about the Paul Karyia moment enough still get chills to this day. I actually went to his jersey retirement it was amazing
I think Flower’s save at the last second in game 7 of the ‘09 final could’ve definitely been an honorable mention for the Pens
It also came to my mind prior to watching the video. I saw it live I almost fell off my chair.
Another Flyers honorable mention was game 6 in 2004 against Tampa. The Primeau then Gagne goals were electric
I would definitely choose as a Vegas fan Johnathan Marchessault's hat trick against Edmonton
This is ONE OF MY FAVORITE VIDEOS ON THIS CHANNEL!!! SEEING THE ISLANDERS FOOTAGE BROUGHT BACK DO MANY MEMORIES!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Unreal video!! Great flow transitioning from team to team
I think, that the most iconic moment of some teams occured off the ice. I think that the LA Kings most iconic moment was trading for Gretzky and the Dallas Stars most iconic moment was the 2017 Draft, where the drafted three corner stones of their current roster. Well, that are probably two ideas for future videos, if you haven't already recorded them: Every teams most iconic draft and every teams most iconic trade.
I couldn't agree more about the Red Wings winning back to back for Konstantinov. Im sure hoping that the Wings will get a another back to back in the coming years.
Funny how a while ago, I made a Reddit post for a couple on nostalgia hockey moments and 15:25 was one of them!
9:20
Thank you for saying that a couple other players knew. Everyone says Kane was the only one. I saw it go in watching it that night from a restaurant.
Alec martinez was always one of my fav players. Love seein him on the knights.
I think you could make a 16 hours long video with the Habs legendary moments. What a legacy this team has, it's insane.
BONINO! BONINO!BONINO! I'm not sure how iconic it was, but it's remembered. I think it was the Indian language broadcast of the Stanley Cup Finals in 2017
as a kings fan, scf, game 5 2014 seems too basic for me to suggest
2012 with brownie lifting the cup was probably a top 3 kings iconic moment
Great list!! Couldn't have been easy selecting, especially for some of the teams with such long histories!!
Really just need to say 'thanks' for making Sakic's hand-off to Borque the #1 moment for the Avalanche! I'm a Leafs fan, but moreover a true Canadian - seeing Sakic do such a selfless, class-act show of sportsmanship helped make him one of the greatest players to me!
May not be the biggest moment - but the Leafs tribute & honouring Salming so shortly before his passing (it was meant to be), seeing MY hometown hero, Darryl Sittler (St. Jacobs/Kitchener-Waterloo) crying as he holds Borje's hand high will forever be a highlight (albeit a sad one).
two other canucks options could have been the the sedins connecting for the OT winner in their last home game and the picture of mclean and linden from game 6 of the cup finals. or odjick beating the wheels off of the blues lol, great vid man
Great point with the final home game for the Sedins!
My favorite is either the 3-1 Blackhawks comeback against the Bruins. Two original 6 teams going at it for the Cup was epic. The Patrick Kane goal against the Flyers takes the cake though. I remember watching that live and was so happy because that was the first Championship I’ve ever saw live for a Chicago team and it happened in such a miraculous way. I just remember everyone being so confused then just celebrating because we realized we just won the cup. That memory of watching your team win a Championship in such a miraculous way was amazing. Watching the Rangers 1994 Championship is special because I also got to experience that in my lifetime and you can just relate to the fans. Ironically that Rangers team was lead by an ex Blackhawk coach Mike Keenan who lead us to the Cup finals and Chicago almost had a chance to win 2 Championships in the NHL and the NBA. If only the 92 team won the Cup while the Bulls at the same time won the Finals then that 1992 year would have been the greatest year in Chicago sports history.
Huge, huge, HUGE shout out to my man for including my comment in your video!!!!! Made my day and year!!!!! I fully agree with the Oshie moment too. I cried so much as I lost my grandmother to that horrible disease. I felt every bit of his pain.
I want to make sure people who enjoy these videos get to be a part of them every now and then :)
For the Pens it should Definity be The Save but lemieux is a close 2nd
Amazing intro! Making the theme of the video as the intro is an awesome idea
Thanks! Yeah I might try that with more features like these in the future :)
I would argue another amazing and iconic moment for the Knights was Hill's save in Game 1 of the 2023 Stanley Cup Finals.
I do believe the most iconic moment for the Leafs, was the one you mentioned. But if it was most iconic goals, it would definitely be the Tavares OT goal last year.
Honestly, Beniers scoring the game winner seven seconds into OT against the Caps, or Daccord becoming the first goalie to get a shutout in Winter Classic history might be more iconic than Eberle's Game 4 winner against the Avs (not to knock on Ebs). Or, considering how this season is going, Bjorky's goal with 17.6 left in Game 7 against the Stars.
Awesome video thanks! Go Sharks!
Love the work you did and the sharks are my baby’s
props to you using the Panthers broadcast team on the Verhaeghe goal. anyways, i still think their most iconic moment was Tkachuk's game winner in game 4 vs the Canes. the Verhaeghe goal is a close second, but Tkachuk's goal was just so... unexplainable since it was at home. easily the most memorable moment from the run imo.
nice video though :)
Steve Goldstein is a treasure, I refuse to hear anyone else's voice!
No matter what sport it is Buffalo is always the punching bag.
The Mayday goal was great, but I was at the Dave Hannan game vs the Devil's, that was a blast.
Fight night at the Joe was pretty iconic.
I would say the most iconic moment for the Avs was Patrick Roy stick handling around Gretzky
Another great video. Your production is top notch. And thanks for using my comment. You should troll everyone and do a worst moments video. I’m voting for Stevens on Lindros. Don’t forget that was the first period of game 7 of the conference final… in Philly before the Billy Penn curse was broken. Of course we lost. Fucking Patrik Elias.
I had been thinking about a "Most Infamous Moments" video for a future upload!
10:00 Mark Messier didn't promise a comeback; the new york journalist just wrote that into the paper
0:25 Vladdie actually finished 2nd in voting behind Brian Leetch.
I think for the Oilers I would have gone with Gretzky getting the whole team to pose for a picture after winning the 1988 Stanley Cup; its so iconic that every winner since has done the same.
Great point!
it is "Have another doughnut! for the Devils🤣
I think Billy Lindsays goal was the most iconic and it deserves a statue
i would say one of the most iconic moments for the penguins is crosby shootout goal in the first winter classic
26:28 That was also the end for Patrick Roy 😢
Great Video. I agree with your 2 Chicago Blackhawks choices - the 2 Goals in 17 Seconds to avoid a trip back to/game 7 in Chicago & Patrick Kane Goal in Philadelphia, since he was the only one who knew that it was A Goal. For My Rangers, I'd say you got many of them, but, left out Ed Giacomin crying in A Detroit Red Wing Uniform, as The Madison Square Garden crowd chanted Eddie!!! & had Cheered for him & against The Rangers. Let me know what you think
539 games for a goalie with one team is a ton, so I can imagine how emotional it was for everyone in that building and especially him.
@@TwistedWristerHockey Yeah. I know that King Henrik Lundquist is The Best, but, I don't think that we'll ever see a more beloved Goalie in a moment like that. One of the very best Goalie Tandems there ever was, with Gilles Villemeur.
@@TwistedWristerHockey At least Gilles & Eddie were my favorite
Really put a lot of thought into this.....for the Flyers, Id pick the 1976 game against the Soviets where the Soviets left the ice....
Hmm...I might have something for ya later this week :)
As a Habs fans, I want to highlight that not 1 but 2 riots happened in mtl due to the habs. It's wild how much this city adore hockey.
best moment as a sharks fan wasn't even at a sharks game. Owen Nolan scoring a hat trick in the all star game that was in san jose. He had 2 goals going into the 3rd period and hasek kept shutting him down until Nolan got a breakaway and called his shot.
Unforgettable!
Another Red Wings iconic moment…Fight Night at the Joe.
I wish I had been alive when the stars won in 99. I wouldve loved so much to celebrate with my dad who had been a stars fans since they played in Minnesota. maybe soon they'll win the cup, and I can celebrate that cup with him
I hope that time comes soon enough! In particular, I'd be very happy for Pavelski to ride off into the sunset as a Cup champion. in my opinion as a Sharks fan, I think a Cup is all Joe now needs to make the Hall of Fame. He might make it without one - but with how his career has further blossomed in Dallas, I wonder if he'd be inducted as a Star or a Shark!
@@TwistedWristerHockey he was amazing when I San Jose, and he is still amazing in Dallas. I just call him the Tip Master now because of how he's able to deflect shots into the net with ease. also yes he very much needs to finish his career with a cup win
That inaugural season for Vegas! From the draft earlier in the year, the talking heads saying and predicting a very bad season for the expansion Knights, to Oct. 1, Retiring #58, reaching the Finals in their first year….that I believe will be the most iconic moment in their history now and forever. Because like someone else mentioned “it Healed a city!”
First moment you talk about I forgot all about. Damn
15:11 You got it right
Younger Leafs fans might suggest the Matthews debut with 4 goals. Absolutely ridiculous and for the second ever 1st overall pick for the Leafs it was extremely exciting
Or Sundin’s 500th career goal shorthanded in overtime. There hasn’t been much for Leafs’ fans to cheer about for a very long time. Lanny MacDonald winning in Calgary is my highlight as a Toronto fan.
@@rickcole349 I'm happy I'm old enough to have gotten to enjoy most of Sundins run with the Leafs. He was my hero growing up
Question can you rank Ahl goal horns
Hmm...maybe. I love making rankings videos, but goal horns can be kind of iffy. That's because sometimes teams change their horn/song midseason, or they'll use player-chosen celebration songs, or the videos/audio files I source might not accurately reflect the experience of being at a game. I'm sure a bunch of folks out there would still like to watch a video like that, so I won't rule it out :)
Winnipegs most iconic moment was game 3 vs Nashville in 2018
I'm not really sure it is the right KIND of moment, but it's a memorable one for me, with the kings - When Brown hit Henrik Sedin during the 2012 playoff run.
...when Brown knocked Matt Cooke the FFFFUG OUT!
I instantly became a fan.
That McLean save on Reichel is more iconic than the Bure goal. No save...no cup run.
That was indeed magnificent
I would say Tampa Bay’s most iconic goal was the one Steven Stamkos scored in Game 3 of the 2020 finals against Dallas.
Nobody watched that cup final lol
bro my comment made the video so sick!
I'd say the most iconic thing the Buffalo Sabre's did was, thrashing the Soviet Red Army!
I can’t argue anything Stevens over Brodeur for NJ, but for the moment you picked, you skipped over the most iconic part- Stevens’ “you’re next” to the DET bench!
Good point - I actually did include that in my full Stevens video on my second (currently less active) channel right here: czcams.com/video/3nyinus5hzE/video.html
Winnipeg Jets 1.0 Dave Ellet's double OT goal. It didn't win the series, but the winner of that series was going all the way.
Make a vid about how good the coyotes are this season
Havnt watched yet but the avs has to be “after 22 years Raymond bourque!” Right?
Edit: yep
Just one thing: you should say “eventual” instead of “would-be.” Would be implies a hypothetical
Alec Martinez Is my hero
I am a Toronto fan and I want to see the we want Florida
Or course the Leafs only memorable moments are in black and white.
You need chapter breaks by team...
Ovi 800th goal wasn’t iconic?
yoo
Hola!
Philadelphia kicking the stuffing out of the Red Army team would be up there for the Broad street bullies.
You won't wanna miss the next video, trust me!
