    Tight jerseys, Oxford and Luton in division 1, plastic pitches, endless cup replays(sometimes 3 or 4), saint and greavsie, BBC vidiprinter, 1 live sunday match on ITV, paninni football stickers, FA cup final was a BIG occasion, Wimbledon playing in plough lane, zenith data systems cup, Aston Villa European champions. There was a beautiful romance to the no nonsense of 1980s English football and I fell in love with Man. United. Those were the days

This was a replay, the original game had been about five days earlier. This was one of two straight wins at Old Trafford, and three wins in a row against united.

      G&H stands full of old farts, always emptied out just before/after half time & near the end. You'll notice that West Ham only had a took a tiny number of a huge allocation (K/Scoreboard). This was due to what happened to them the year before. Rest of the ground was full or as full as grounds ever were in the 80s (let's not even start on man city's attendances back then!)

    • @scherben8870
      @scherben8870 Před 7 lety

      The attendance was 30,441, way below our average of 44,038 that season. You're right about City's gates though. Their average was 24,000. The whole OT selling out all the time is an absurd straw man anyway.
