I bought a new one in 2006, the Classic LT version with windshield and leather saddlebags. Put 40,000 miles on it in the 2 years I owned it, I loved that bike! It was indeed a torque monster, climbed Mt. Mitchell two-up and never dropped below 2nd gear. It would happily cruise on the interstate all day at 90 without breaking a sweat.

I own a '06 VN2000F (owners often call it a V2K) the LT Classic model. The LT Classic model has a more classic bezel and windshield.
The gearing's a little crappy but it will cruise comfortably at 90 to 100 MPH in perfect conditions (mine has pipes an intake and Power Commander though) but I've been over 130 MPH before I chickened out (but she had more go). The first 3 gears are neutered so you don't get full power if you dump the clutch. It's big and built for larger folks (I'm 5'10 and over 300 lbs). It's small rocket speed with cruiser comfort.
Biggest drawback is that it's 5 speed instead of 6 and now finding replacement parts is a pain.
I never don't want to have one for the rest of my life. I pray Kawi brings it back... in a 6 speed.

I moved up from a c90 boulevard to a vulcan 2000, when i had the c90 i was usedto really getting on the throttle because it accelerated so slowly, first time i took the v2k on the freeway gave it a lot of throttle like i did with the c90, i was in third at this point and was on the freeway noticing how slowing traffic was moving, started looking around to see where the accident was and as i was shifting to 4th, i happened to look down at the speedometer and saw i was doing 110mph, traffic wasnt moving slow i was just moving really fast, lol

The Voyager has a switch you turn to turn off the engine but you must put the key in to lock the steering and the ignition. The Voyager is a very comfortable bike to ride for a long time

After watching your video, I bought a Vulcan 2000 last year. AWESOME bike and I use it in the city mostly, in traffic. I love it. Going on long rides out of the city is even better. Needs some typical improvements, changed the battery, changed a light bulb, need to change the tyres, maybe get some louder pipes and a mustang seat and some nice bags. But hey, improvements take time and money. all in due time. this is the type of bike I will have problems upgrading from. What can be better than this? NOTHING.

I stripped it down to a bobber and it got even quicker! Also, it was just as comfortable as my Goldwing, believe it or not. I did an Iron Butt on it. The guy I sold it too said, quote, "I'm so happy I have to sit on my hands to keep from waving at everybody". I highly recommend the bike to anyone who has a chance to get one. I live in michigan so a lot of the people here do a "perimeter of Michigan" for the 1000 miles.
There's a highway 94 that goes east to west across the state from Chicago to Detroit, when you get to the water past detroit you go north and follow the coast all the way around the thumb and to the Mackinac bridge, then back thru Traverse and down the west side till you get back to 94 and back to where you started.
Its a crazy ride and more miles than id ever want to go in a day, but i know a lot of people who've done that (and a couple who say they did it but you know never did)

The only suck thing about them for me, at 5’10 is there kind of tough to back up. I think it's kind of a good and bad design, it's good if you know about it and actually remove the keys, but I've seen plenty of video and examples of thieves or just pissed off people grabbing keys out of someone's running bike....and in other bikes at least requires a turn of the key before you can remove....and with this design you can just pull straight out....I live in a decent area where its not really a concern but if I was driving a big city I dont think I'd keep them in the bike...

    I love my Rogues,
Love them that much , I actually have four of them.
2004 2000 purple prism like in the video and I have three LT2000's
2007 red and ebony and two 2008 light blue/ silver and dark blue.
have clocked up over 300k between them all , but the 2007 has 140k on it towing very large trailers.
Perfectly suited to eat up the outback highways.
But for all their weight, they are absolute pussey's to handle .
The weight is very low centered and once rolling, becomes light and predictable and the brakes are outstanding considering they are just simple non ABS brakes.
Quite low tech by today's bikes , but that's whats appealing to me. No unnecessary junk that's not required to break or break down.
And the comments that its an HD look alike and therefor not a real bike , I say to them that I bought this bike because it looks more like the HD I had decades ago than the HD bikes look now.
And so much more reliable and cheap to run except for the rear tyres but I run light truck tyres so that takes care of that
I never started out to collect all these bikes , It was the fact that these bikes out here are like rocking horse shit and the parts availability is non existent where there's nothing in this country unless it shares parts with the rest of the Vulcan line up.
So I was looking for wrecks to keep my 2007 going into the future but looked for five years to no avail.
Then I come across the 2004 dirt cheap but was too good to scrap.
I was hooked I scoured all the adverts and followed leads and scored an LT2008 and scored that cheap too.
And the same for the second 2008 LT. And as I write this I am looking at another LT and a 2000.
May be a fetish now but at least it's a clean healthy fetish.
I have fitted a turbocharger to the 2004 Rogue and its mind blowing. These things pull like a school boy in standard format , but with the turbo on it well , Its just insane.
Needless to say this one is just for local rides and for showing off because I can . Totally ridiculous I know But !!!!

I see external pushrod covers so it’s a overhead valve motor. Is it a single camshaft?

  • @IMAXXHEW
    @IMAXXHEW Před 4 lety +2

FYI brother... if you are worried about the law knowing how fast you are going, blurring out the speedo is worthless. They can get your speed by measuring it using the dashed lines on the pavement. If you go past a specific number of dashed lines, over a specific amount of time, it can be proven you were travelling at an excessive rate of travel. Ever see the signs out in the remote areas about how speed is being monitored by aircraft? That's how they do it.

also.. regarding your keychan - the vulcan 2k is actually keyless (ish). You can take the key out after turning the ignition and it will run without the key in. you can just pocket it.

It could just be the angle of the GoPro, but is the right handlebar tilted in a bit towards the tank versus the left? Like someone dropped it at a dead stop once and it bent it? Just curious. If so, obviously just bending the handlebar back would fix it, or installing a new set. I just notice things like that. lol Either way, great video.
