It's a blast from the past when Phil reviews an ultra high stakes poker session from 2010 against the legendary recreational poker player 'cadillac1944'.
Phil describes how he went into this session feeling nervous and with a short poker bankroll. Do you think you could take a shot at high stakes in Phil's shoes and not have it affect your mental game?
Pot Limit Omaha is a high-variance game by default, but how would you adjust your poker strategy to someone 3-betting 50% of the time? The 2010 Phil had certain ideas, and the 2023 version has some thoughts on those ideas!

Either NL or Limit, single or triple (though I'd think NL would be more interesting?) Hey Phil, could you give me a piece of advice?
I moved up from 5NL to 50NL in a year by using the 30 BI rule and my mind is a bit overwhelmed by how fast the swings are growing (up or down, doesn't matter).
Although I'm never money scared and I always play to the fullest of my ability, I can't ignore the fact that I can make similar amounts as I can in my day job.
This makes me respect the game much more and my approach has become much more serious than before.
Is there anything I can do, to stop thinking about the amounts I'm playing for? I'm a bit concerned about my first upcoming downswing on this stake and I want to be prepared...
I already am trying my best not to get too excited when I win big, but it's not easy to keep my emotions in check.
Thank you in advance and keep the good content up :)

I think one of the biggest leaks here is people continue playing in such a scenario and ultimately lose their whole bankroll.
Through ego they continue thinking the cards are gonna turn, im better than villain, and go busto.
Takes a lot of pride to say, you know what, it’s not my day, I’m being outplayed, and log off.
How tempting was it to try and win your losses back against a player you feel you had an edge on?

Unlike in Texas hold'em, in PLO you must always use two of your hole cards. So with JJ95 in his hand, the best hand he can make is a flush (using Jh9h). If the river was the 6 of clubs instead (no flush possible), he would have 5-5-K-J-5, the last two representing his two hole cards.
