FUN FACT: In Philippines, when there is a festival, every home serve their specialties and letting anyone to come over them and eat what they've got. Its like when youre walking in a street and eating at every houses that you see for free.

I'm just now catching up on all Worth It episodes, but as a filipino-american, I'm really happy that Buzzfeed finally gave some Filipino food recognition. Idk about other Filipinos watching this, but I feel represented through the food I grew up eating and this is great. Thanks Steven, Andrew, and Adam!
Do you speak Spanish or Filipino? One thing that I love about Filipino is that some of their dishes have some spanish flavor, like Chicken adobo.

Besides, $71.50 for several courses at a nice restaurant really isn't that expensive depending on location.

I absolutely adored everyone eating at the last meal, a lot of personality and humor at a fantastic meal. It's clear they enjoyed themselves.
This is the most worth it expensive food from these series. Non of that tinny dishes in a middle of a big plate together with flakes of gold and truffles, but a large feast to enjoy with your family and friends just like what true Filipino spirit is all about. I’m proud to be Filipino!!

And in every kamayan fiest, nobody would sit pretty and eat slowly, because if you are here in the Philippines, that whole pig would only last for 7 to 10 minutes. Every kamayan fiest is a war zone.

The last part we do not really call it as "Kamayan" but rather we call it "Budol-Budol Fight".
Its also called kamayan dude budol fight and kamayan are both correct.
The first Budol fight i ever had was in Boy Zugba here in Mindanao. And i gotta tell you I was afraid becuase i thought it meant we would be racing to finish the food in time or smthn. But it was just casual hand eating with my family. Oh i miss going there.

I had a lechon with my ex about 5 years ago with the local Filipino community in my town. Best pork I've ever had. The pig we had was about 4 times the size of the one you guys had but it was to feed about 30-40 people.
The size of the lechon is a good indication of the host's wealth or event's importance haha
